Happy Tuesday, dear friends! Hope you are having a wonderful week so far. I'm so glad you could join me today because it's time for a new Shining the Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs. One of the things I love about the stamping community is the many opportunities available to improve my craft. One way to do that is to browse the blogs and galleries of talented stampers I admire. This week you will have the chance to do just that!
This week's challenge is:
Secret Admirer Challenge - CASE a card of any designer you admire. It does not need to be an ODBD Designer. Link the card you CASEd within your post.
Before I get to my sample for this week, here are the details for the challenge.
To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a PRIZE, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Sunday, February 10th at 8 p.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.
While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them. As a way of recognizing those who do use ODBD stamps, we will again be choosing three or more of our participants for the Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award; however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, February 10th at 8 p.m. EST. If you upload your creation to Splitcoaststampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword ODBDSLC141. When creating your posts on blogs, please include a link to the challenge.
Now...on to my sample!
I had a very hard time choosing just one person on the Our Daily Bread Designs Design Team to CASE! All of the Sister Sticks are so amazingly talented. So...I chose a stamp set that had never been used, and went searching for a card using that set. I found this gorgeous Lilac card by Angela Crockett! Here is my version:

Creative Nugget: I loved the card Angie did in Kraft, but I thought if I used Royal Velvet, I could use my card for Easter or for Mother's Day. The lilac image was stamped randomly on the background using VersaMark ink. This was stitched to Neenah Solar Crest and mounted on a Royal Velvet card front after adhering some lace to the bottom of the panel. The lilac was stamped twice on Royal Velvet with Memento ink. One image was cut with an oval Nestie. The other image was painted with bleach and hand cut. A white gel pen was used to highlight the lilac petals and a little color was added to the leaves using Prismacolor pencils. The cut lilac was popped up on the other one with Dimensionals. I didn't have the same die that Angie had, so two Asian Accent dies were used to frame the image. Pearls and a bow made with satin ribbon and tulle was added to finish the card.
Be sure to check out the other Sister Sticks and the stampers they admire!
Thanks so much for stopping by..have a blessed day!
Hugs,
Cathymac
