And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

ODBD Two for Tuesday: Earth's Gladdest Day

Hello friend!  It's time for another Two for Tuesday feature over at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog.  Because Easter is this Sunday, I chose to use the Earth's Gladdest Day stamp set and made a CAS and a stepped-up version of my card.

Creative Nugget:  The CAS version has a stitched background with papers from the Shabby Rose and Shabby Pastels paper pads.  The crocus from the Earth's Gladdest Day stamp set was colored with Copic Markers and the sentiment was clear embossed.  The ODBD Custom Dies used to cut the panels include the Pierced Rectangles, Pierced Circles, and Circles dies. A few pearls were added to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  An extra panel of paper and a Fancy Circles die cut layer were added for the stepped-up version.

These card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Get Well Chickie

Hello friends!  I have a couple of cards to share with you today.  Anyone feeling under the weather?  This card is for you!

Creative Nugget:  Almost all of the sentiments from the Get Well Critters stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps were arranged on my Misti Tool and white embossed on a panel of mixed media paper.  Distress inks were applied to a craft mat, spritzed with water and the panel of paper was dabbed onto the colors.  A little more sponging and some more spritzing were used to finish the background.  The panel was cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die and a turquoise border added.  The sentiment panel was adhered to Neenah card stock on which the band-aids had been randomly stamped in different colors.  The little hearts were watercolored and painted with Wink of Stella..  The chick was colored with Copics, cut with a Circle Die and mounted to a Pierced Circle. One of the sentiments from the background was white embossed on a turquoise banner and a heated bow added to finish the card.

My second card used the Mojo Sketch for this week and the Good News stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  The stamp set released this month was perfect for getting an Easter card finished.

Creative Nugget:  Distress Oxide inks were smeared on the back of a sunburst stencil, spritzed with water and pressed onto pieces of mixed media paper.  One piece was then embossed with a sunburst embossing folder and used for the background.  Sponging was added around the border of a Neenah card stock panel and was stitched to the background.  The second Oxide ink panel was cut down for the top panel.  The cross and crown from the Good News set were stamped, fussy cut and popped onto the panel between the stamped sentiment.  An Easter greeting from the He Lives stamp set was stamped on a die cut banner.  The big seam binding bow ties everything together.

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

Daffodils

Hello friends!  Hope your week gets off to a great start!  Even with the mild winter we've had, I'm still looking forward to the warmer weather this week. ..thus the sunny daffodils.   My card was created for a few challenges and to begin getting several Easter cards finished.

Creative Nugget:  A light splash of watercolor was washed on the background and distress ink sponged through a stencil made with the Circle Scalloped Rectangle Die released by Our Daily Bread Designs.  This panel was cut using a Pierced Rectangle Die.  The Daffodils were also watercolored and cut with the coordinating Daffodil Die.  Happy was die cut several times using the Script Happy Birthday Die and part of the sentiment was white embossed on a grey Pennant Flag die cut.  A yellow frame was cut using the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies.  All of this tucked together to make the card based on the latest CAS(E) this Sketch design.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

My first sample was made using the new Tulips stamp set and the Circle Scalloped Rectangle Dies.

Creative Nugget:  Use the Circle Scalloped Rectangle Die to cut a panel from paper from the Cozy Quilt Collection and layer onto panels of red, Vintage Cream cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die, brown and a Vintage Cream card base.  Create a frame with brown card stock cut with the small Circle Scalloped Rectangle Die and Vintage Cream card stock cut with a Double Stitched Rectangles Die.  Stamp and color the Tulips with Copic Markers and cut them with the Tulip Die.  Tuck the tulips into the frame. Emboss the sentiment on vellum cut with the Pennant Flags Die. Add two strips of paper from the Blooming Garden Collection behind the tulips.  Add a few accents with a white paint pen to finish the card.

My second sample was made with the Daffodils stamp set and the new Side Step Card Die.

Creative Nugget:  Cut a card base using the Side Step Card Die. Line each of the panels with paper from the Blooming Garden and Cozy Quilt Paper Collections.  Cut borders using the Fence Die and the Grass Hill Die.  A yard sign was made with card stock cut with the small Circle Scalloped Rectangle Die and a Rectangles Die.  The Daffodils were colored with Copic Markers and cut with the coordinating Daffodil Die.

Looking Back at the ODBD February 2016 Release

Welcome, my friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs February 2016 Release.  Easter is early this year so I used some of the ODBD new products to make an Easter card.

My sample today uses the beautiful Flourished Happy Easter stamp.

Creative Nugget:  Flourished Happy Easter was embossed with Liquid Platinum embossing powder and the panel cut with one of the Layered Lacey Square Dies.  Each panel was made using the Easter Card Collection 2016 and Pastel Paper Packs and were matted with orchid card stock following the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week.  Decorative Corners were added under the sentiment panel as well as a silk bow.  The flowers were cut with the new Bitty Blossoms and Fancy Foliage Dies.  Pearls were added to the centers of the flowers.

Both of my samples were made with several of the new products being released this month!

Creative Nugget:  The background panel was made by white embossing the Easter Egg Background on Neenah card stock and randomly sponging distress inks to cover the whole panel.  The center was cut out with a Double Stitched Rectangle Die, embossed with the Boho Background Die, stitched to white card stock, and mounted back in place.  The Flourished Happy Easter was clear embossed with VersaMark and Milled Lavender Distress ink, cut with a Double Stitched Rectangle Die, and stitched to a piece of paper from the Pastel Paper Pack.  Two of the Ornamental Crosses Dies were used to create the layered cross.  White ribbon ties everything together.

My next sample was made with the new Easter Basket Dies and Easter Eggs Dies.
Creative Nugget:   The Easter Egg Background was white embossed on a piece of paper from the Easter Card Collection 2016.  The Leafy Edged Border Die and the Grass Border Die were used to create the foreground from Pastel and Blushing Rose papers.  The basket from the Basket of Blessing stamp set was colored with Copic Markers and cut with the Easter Basket Die.   Easter Eggs Dies and papers from both of the new paper collections were used to fill the basket with Easter eggs and flowers. Double Stitched Circle Dies were used to cut the little tag which was embossed with one of the sentiments from the Basket of Blessings stamp set.  A bow and some pearls were added to finish the card.
