and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Have a Hoot of a Birthday!

Hello friends!  Maria Patrick is the Featured Stamper today on Splitcoaststampers, so I CASEd THIS card to send to my niece who is celebrating her birthday this month.

Creative Nugget:  I managed to put this card together rather quickly before church this morning thanks to the Owl Family Dies that coordinate with the adorable Who Loves You? stamp set by North Coast Creations.  Just a little bit of coloring, a little stitching, and a lot of die cutting!  A sentiment from the stamp set was split onto the two Clouds and the word birthday was replaced by the Birthday die cut.  The paper is from the Beautiful Boho Collection by Our Daily Bread Designs.

Here are the North Coast Creations
products used for this card:

Happy Birthday, My Deer

Hello, friends!  Back with another challenge card for you! The WTUI Challenge on Splitcoaststampers was to use stripes so I planned a patriotic card in honor of our nation's upcoming birthday.  The challenge also included the use of a silhouette image which threw a monkey wrench into my plan! Fortunately I had just received the Deer Silhouette Greetings stamp set by North Coast Creations, a sister company of Our Daily Bread Designs.  I love this set!

Creative Nugget:  The white background panel was embossed with the Sunburst Background Die.  A Sparkling Star Die was used to cut a star from a piece of paper from the Patriotic Collection by Our Daily Bread Designs.  This panel was stitched to a piece of blue card stock.  Two of the Sparkling Star Dies were used to create a red frame for the star cut out, and another star cut from coordinating striped paper was embedded into the cut out. The deer silhouette scene was stamped in blue ink and the sentiment was cut from one of the Pennant Dies. Several pearls were added to finish the card.  This week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches was used for the design of the card.

North Coast Creations June Release

This is my second post for today, so if you are looking for The Sweet Stop sketch challenge, please scroll down to the next post or click HERE!

Welcome to a new release by North Coast Creations, sister company to Our Daily Bread Designs!  If you like working with silhouette images, you will love the three sets being released this month!

This month we will be choosing 2 winners who will receive a $10 gift certificate to the North Coast Creations Store for stamps just for commenting on our Design Team cards! You have until June 17, 2013 at 9:00PM EDT to make a comment on each of our designers blog posts.  Our 2 random winners will be announced on the North Coast Creations Blog on June 18, 2013.

I LOVE working with silhouette images, so creating samples for these new sets was especially enjoyable...hope you like them!
Creative Nugget:  This first sample was made by simply embossing the image from the new Something Marvelous stamp set using white embossing powder directly on the beautiful Secret Garden DP by Graphic 45.  Two different patterns from the paper pad were mounted and stitched to Winter Wisteria and Solar Crest card stocks and attached to a Solar Crest card base.  The clouds, also from the same set, were embossed on the DP, fussy cut, and popped onto the card.  The sentiment was stamped on a hand cut banner.  A white bow was added to complete the card.

Here's another one using the

Creative Nugget:  For this sample I used the Speckled Gesso Resist Technique.  Gesso was lightly applied to a Manilla Tag using a credit card.  After the Gesso had dried, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, and Barn Door Distress Stains were applied and misted with water to blend the colors.  The Gesso resisted the stains leaving the white specked look you see on the card.  The edges were sponged with Gathered Twigs and Walnut Stain Distress inks to tone down the bright colors and age the panel.  The silhouette image was stamped in Jet Black Archival Ink over the top.  The sentiment was stamped on a panel prepared using the same technique but with Peeled Paint stain.  Several Bo Bunny papers were stitched to a True Black panel and mounted to a Harvest Gold card base.  Button twine, a button, and several black pearls were added to finish the card.  Love how this one turned out!

Here is the beautiful Something Marvelous stamp set:

Another set being released this month is

Creative Nugget:  Believe it or not...this is a single layer monochromatic card...something I hardly ever do since I do love my layers!  The top of the Solar Crest card base was masked and the Gingham Background from Our Daily Bread Designs was stamped at the bottom of the card with Versafine Onyx Black ink. The silhouette image was stamped above the Gingham using the same ink.  Pearls were added to the centers of the wildflowers. The sentiment was stamped to the left of the image.  Some score lines, piercing, and Baker's Twine finish the card.

I enjoyed making this card so much that I made a whole set of cards in different colors using each of the sentiments from the set.

North Coast Creations May Release

Welcome friends!  It's time for the May release from North Coast Creations and the two new sets being released are bound to help you keep your cool!  This month we will be choosing 2 winners who will receive a $10 gift certificate to the NCC Store just for commenting on our Coasters Design Team cards!  You have until May 17, 2013 at 9:00PM EDT to make a comment on each of our designers' blog posts. Our 2 random winners will be announced on the North Coast Creations Blog on May 18, 2013.

I have two COOL samples to share with you today...
one from each of the new sets!

Creative Nugget:  This first sample is from the new stamp set, What's the Scoop?  This card took on a kind of retro look as the layout was meant to mimic an old fashioned soda shop window, complete with awning.  Different Bo Bunny papers were stitched to a Cool Caribbean panel which was matted in True Black and mounted on a Solar Crest card front.  The sentiment from the set was stamped on DP and mounted to a Spellbinders Tag Die.  The ice cream cone was fussy cut and mounted to a tag from the Recipe & Tags Die Set available from our ODBD sister company.  Some Gingham ribbon and a button finish the card.

Here's a peek at the complete set:

My second card uses the new set, You're the Bomb!

Creative Nugget:  The Kaisercraft papers were stitched to Chocolate Chip card stock and mounted to a Vintage Cream card base.  The chocolate dipped popsicle was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut so it could be popped on the Elegant Oval which was cut with the matching Elegant Oval Dies, both available from our sister company, Our Daily Bread Designs.  Some Ice Stickles was rubbed on the lower part of the popsicle with my finger, and Glossy Accents was applied to the chocolate dipped top of the popsicle!  Yum!  The sentiment was stamped on one of the smaller Elegant Oval Dies and sponged with Wild Honey Distress Ink.  A bit of lace, a couple of Dew Drops, and a seam binding bow finish the card.

Here's the complete You're the Bomb! set:

Now aren't you hungry for a nice COOL treat?  Be sure to stop by the other Coasters for more delectable delights. Don't forget to leave a comment on each blog for a chance to win a PRIZE

Roses for Mom

Welcome peeps!  It's Saturday...the weather has been delightful...and it's time for a new sketch at The Sweet Stop! Before we get to the sketch, let me tell you about some changes to the Sugar Baby design team.  We need to say a sad good bye to Janice Melton.  Janice has been on the Sugar Baby team for over two years and will be greatly missed here at The Sweet Stop, but we will be sure to keep in touch through her blog and on Splitcoaststampers!  On a good note, we are adding four new Sugar Babies to the team...a big welcome to Ann, Cynthia, Debbie, and Jamie!

With Mother's Day only a week away, the sketch this week provided the needed inspiration to make a card for my Mother's Day stash!

Creative Nugget:  I found myself reaching for some of my favorite papers by My Mind's Eye to create the sketch elements, mounting them to Rose Red and Smokey Shadow card stocks, and attaching them to a Vintage Cream card base.  The Scalloped Trim Border was layered and pearls added for an extra feminine touch. The Roses, from North Coast Creations, were stamped twice and colored with Copic Markers.  This panel was cut with a Classic Oval Nestie and mounted to an Opulent Oval die.  A few of the roses were fussy cut from the second stamped image and popped up for dimension.  I did move this oval panel to the other side to accommodate the image.  The sentiment, from Teeny Tiny Wishes, was stamped on a Bitty Banners Framelit, both from SU!  Several panels were embossed for texture, and a few more pearls and a seam binding bow were added to finish the card.  This feminine card will be perfect for my Mother-in-Law!

How about you...are you still in need of a Mother's Day card for next Sunday?  Join us this week at The Sweet Stop!  Be sure to stop by all of the other talented Sugar Babies for some inspiration and to welcome the newbies!

Here is a peek at the new Roses Stamp Set!

Creative Nugget:  The Roses were stamped and colored with Copic Markers before cutting them with the Gold Labels Four Die and mounting them to Barely Banana and Smokey Gray Labels Four dies.  The roses were then stamped again two more times on a matching piece of designer paper, colored, and hand cut to mount them on the bottom layer for some 3-D dimension.  The sentiment was stamped once on Vintage Cream card stock and once on matching DP.  Two of the words were cut from the DP sentiment and attached to the other one.  This was mounted on a Barely Banana panel and a Decorative Labels Twenty-Seven Die.  KaiserCraft DP was stitched to Smokey Gray card stock and attached to a Vintage Cream card base.  A corner was cut from the Quatrefoil Pattern Die and attached along with some seam binding.  Pearls and a bow were added to finish the card!

Bouquet Bunny

Happy Saturday, everyone and welcome to a new sketch at The Sweet Stop!  Since this is the third week of the month, there's a spin which means an opportunity to win a PRIZE...a $15 gift certificate to the Sweet 'n Sassy Store. With Easter right around the corner, we want to see those Springtime cards...pastel colors, new life, springtime flowers...can't wait to see what you come up with!

For my sample this week, I used a new image from North Coast Creations, Bouquet Bunny.  This little guy is as cute as can be, and so easy and fun to color!

Creative Nugget:  Patterned papers from doodlebug designs were stitched to Smokey Shadow card stock and a Solar Crest card base following the sketch design.  Bouquet Bunny was colored with Copic Markers and masked so the ground and sky could be sponged to ground the image.  The image was cut with a Circle Nestie using the out-of-the-box technique leaving the ears out of the circle.  Some piercing was done before mounting the image to a Smokey Shadow Nestie.  A Baker's Twine bow and some dew drops were added to finish the card.  Adorable and springy...don't you think?

The Sugar Babies have lots of wonderful inspiration for you this week.  Check them out and leave some love along the way...then join us for some Springtime stamping over at The Sweet Stop!
