Iris Inspiration

Hello friends!  Today I am sharing a few cards over on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog using some of the new products from the June Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps release.

***THIS POST CONTAINS AFFILIATE LINKS AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU***

My first card uses the Happy Irises set which is the Stamp of the Month.

Creative Nugget:  Distress Oxide inks were applied to an acrylic block, spritzed with water, stamped off once, spritzed again and stamped onto a mixed media panel.  Texture was added with one of the stamps from Texture Tiles 1.  The panel was framed with a Penny Black die cut and mounted to pink card stock.  The framed piece was layered onto a panel embossed with a TH embossing folder.  The iris from the Happy Irises stamp set was colored with Copic Markers, cut with a Scan 'N Cut and popped onto the card front with fun foam glued to the back for dimension.  The sentiment was white embossed on hand cut banners.  A few sequins were added to finish the card.  I love all colors but this pink and green combo has got to be a favorite!

Creative Nugget:  This card was made with the Mer-mazing and Llama Love stamp sets for a little girl from my church who just moved and will no longer be in our class.  We will miss her, but hopefully these cute little ocean critters will remind her how much Jesus loves her and we do too!  A Tailored Expressions Sunburst Die was cut from different papers and pieced back into the frame to create the top of the card.  Oxide inks were used to create the bottom of the card.  Shells from Mer-mazing were stamped on Kraft card stock for the center strip.  The sections of the card were divided with jute twine and some of the images were colored with Copic Markers and popped onto the card.  The little crab was watercolored with Zig Clean Color Markers, the sentiment from Llama Love was stamped and google eyes were added to finish the card.

Looking Back at Divinity Designs June 2019 Release

Good morning, friends...happy Friday!  Today we are looking back at the Divinity Designs June 2019 Release. The June release was just out of this world.  I have two samples to share using some of the products released this month.

My first card features the Color My World stamp set, the Globe & Stand Dies and the Cascade Fold Card with Layers Dies.

Creative Nugget:  The Cascade Fold Card with Layers Dies were used to cut the card base from black card stock and the layers from papers from the Notable Notes Paper Pad.  A sentiment from the Color My World set was embossed on a Circle panel and layered onto a Pierced Circle die cut.  The Musical Notes Background Die and the Musical Notes Dies were used to decorate the panels of the cascade card.

The Belly Band Dies were used to create a band to hold the card closed.  The world was cut using the Globe & Stand Dies.  This was mounted over a mixed media panel created with Oxide Inks that matched the papers and cut with a Circle Die.  The card folds flat for mailing.

My second card features USA Map Dies and a sentiment from the Adventure Awaits stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  An ombre panel was created with Oxide Inks. White pigment ink was sponged through the Bubbles Stencil and clear embossed.  The panel was cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die and the USA Map Die.  The USA Map was also cut from white card stock and paper from the Cozy Quilt Collection.  A white panel was covered with adhesive and the mixed media panel and white USA outline were adhered to the panel.  The map pieces were then popped back into the map frame.  ***TIP: Press 'n Seal paper is a little tacky and was used to hold the pieces in place until they could be pieced back into the map frame.  A sentiment from the Adventure Awaits stamp set was stamped on a tag cut with the A Gift for You Die.  Long & Lean Letter Dies were used to cut the word "HI."  The arrows, plane and hearts were added to finish the card.

For my first sample, I use the adorable new stamp set, Mer-mazing, designed by Jenn Nilsson.

Creative Nugget:  The shells from the Mer-mazing stamp set were randomly stamped over the background.  A piece of kraft card stock was torn, stamped with texture from the Texture Tiles 1 stamp set, and attached to the background. A square panel was sponged with Peacock Feathers and mounted to the kraft layer.  All of the cute images were colored with Copic Markers, cut with a Scan 'n Cut and popped onto the card.  The sentiment was white embossed on a banner and jute twine was added to finish the card.

The new Hymn Word Art stamp set was used to create my second sample.

Creative Nugget:  The card front is mixed media paper smooshed with Distress Oxide inks.  A frame was created with three different sizes of stitched rectangle dies.  Both of these were mounted to black card stock.  The hymn was black embossed on a stitched rectangle panel, mounted to black card stock and layered inside the frame.  Flowers from the Doodle Florals stamp set were colored with Copic Markers, cut out and mounted to the frame.  Pearls were added to the centers of the flowers to finish the card.

That's Mer-Mazing

Hello sweet friends!  Just getting around to sharing these cards from the new MER-MAZING June Release by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps here on my blog.

My first card uses the new Mer-Mazing stamp set created by Jenn Nilsson and an oldie but goodie, Lots-a-Spots.

Creative Nugget:  Some of the spots from Lots-a-Spots were white embossed on mixed media paper.  Distress Oxide Inks were sponged over the embossed spots and other spots from the stamp set were stamped with the same Oxide Inks to create the underwater background.  Circle dies were then used to cut bubbles from the background.  Images from the Mer-mazing stamp set were colored with Copic Markers and cut out using the Scan 'N Cut.  Some of the images were then placed behind the popped up background while other images were popped on top of the background to finish the card.

My second card used the new Hymn Word Art stamp set designed by Nina Brackett.

Creative Nugget:  Distress Oxide inks were pressed onto an acrylic block, spritzed with water, and stamped onto a piece of mixed media paper to create the background.  This panel was cut with a stitched rectangle die.  One of the hymns from the Hymn Word Art stamp set was black embossed onto the background.  A white paint pen was used to color in some of the letters.  A black gingham bow was added along with some sequins to finish the card.

My final card used the Peony Cluster stamp set which was the stamp of the month last month, but is now available for purchase.

Creative Nugget:  The background panels were created with Ranger Alcohol Inks on Yupo paper.  The peonies were white embossed on vellum and fussy cut.  The vellum flowers were popped onto the card with foam tape.  Netting ribbon was added to one layer and the sentiment from Happy Couple was embossed on a die cut banner to finish the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Thinking of You - DD Color Challenge

Happy Saturday, everyone!   It's time for another Divinity Designs Color Combo Challenge. This month we are using colors inspired by the papers from the Spring Flowers Paper Collection.

I have chosen to use the the Wavy Words Stamp/Die Duo for my sample.

Creative Nugget:  Coordinating papers from the Spring Flowers Collection were cut with the Quilted Window Squares Dies and pieced together to form the front of the card.  The panel was cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die and embossed with the Cross Stitch Embossing Folder to give a quilted look.  The embossed panel was then mounted to a Scalloped Rectangle.  A frame was cut using Fancy Circles and Circles dies allowing most of the background to be seen.  A sentiment banner was created using the Wavy Words Stamp/Die Duo.  An organdy bow was added to finish the card.

Two for Tuesday - Adventure Awaits

Hello friends!  It's time for another Two for Tuesday feature over at the Divinity Designs Blog.  Today I am using the new Adventure Awaits stamp set and the Bubbles Stencil from Divinity Designs to create two Christmas cards.

Creative Nugget:  Curvy Slopes Dies and Cloud Border Dies were layered onto a card front cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die.  One of the Cloud Borders was cut from vellum.  The Neighborhood Border Die was cut twice...one from a discarded mixed media panel found in my sash which was cut apart and layered over the bottom white layer.  The sentiment from the Adventure Awaits was embossed on the bottom slope.  A bow and some sequins were added to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  An additional layer was added to this stepped up version of the card above.  A piece of paper from the Old Glory Paper Pad was cut with a Pierced Rectangle Dies and sponged with white ink through the new Bubbles Stencil and splattered with watered down white acrylic paint.  The sentiment was stamped on a square die cut and framed with a scrap of Old Glory paper cut with one of the Lacey Corners Dies.  The whole card was mounted to card stock cut with a Scalloped Rectangle Die.

Welcome to the Divinity Designs June 2019 Release

Hello, friends!  Can you believe it's June already and time for another Divinity Designs Release? The products being released this month are out of this world...just wait and see. Today I am sharing two projects using some of the new products being released.

My first sample features the new Cascade Fold Card with Layers Dies.

Creative Nugget:  The new Cascade Fold Card with Layers Dies were used to cut the card base from Kraft card stock and the layers from papers from the Birthday Brights, Weathered Wood, and Spring Flowers Collections.  The Frangipani Dies and Ferns Dies were used to cut and shape the cascading flowers on the card panels.  A sentiment from the Sweet as Perfume Stamp Set was embossed on a Circle die cut which was mounted to a Scalloped Circle.  The sentiment was attached to the center of a Belly Band which holds the card closed. Pearls were added to the centers of the flowers to finish the card.

When the belly band is off the frangipani flowers cascade down the front of the card!

My second project uses the Color My World stamp set and the Globe & Stand Dies.

Creative Nugget:  The Tri-Fold Card with Layers Dies were used to cut the card base from card stock and the layers from Galaxy card stock created with Distress Oxide Inks on mixed media paper.  A Circle Die was used to cut a piece of mixed media paper from a previous project found in my stash.  The Globe & Stand Dies were used to cut the world which was adhered to the circle panel.  Sparkling Stars Dies were used to make the stars on the night sky.  The sentiment is from the Color My World stamp set and was embossed on one of the stars.  A few sparkly gems were added to finish the card.

These new products from Divinity Designs were used to create the cards above...
