And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Just a Note

Hello friends!  What a busy week this has been..I'm so glad it's Saturday and time for another fabulous sketch from The Sweet Stop!  I enjoyed working with this one and I'm sure you will, let's get started!

Creative Nugget:  I just love this flower and butterfly image from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  It's from a clear stamp set called, "Treasured."   The "Vintage Postcard" elements were stamped on a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock in Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.  The butterfly image was stamped in Tuxedo Black, then stamped again on a scrap piece of card stock. Both images were colored with copic markers, and the image on the scrap paper was cut out. The main panel was then cut with a circle nestie and sponged around the edges while still in the die.  The Echo Park panel pieces were layered onto Close to Cocoa card stock and adhered to a Vintage Cream card base.  A piece of lace was used for the second strip in the layout design and the Eyelet Border Die was cut from a coordinating piece of patterned paper.  Some ribbon was woven through the die cut and a button tied on.  The little tag was made from the Tiny Tags stamp set and matching die by Papertrey Ink.  The second butterfly image was then popped on top and the leaves curled slightly with a scissors.

I'm taking a copic class at the Color Me Creative Classroom to improve my copic skills, and my homework was to practice coloring with this card and the Christmas version will be submitted for my homework assignment!

I hope you'll play along with us this week at The Sweet Stop!  Don't forget to check out the wonderful samples by the amazing Sugar Baby Team!

Colorful Complements

Hello stamping friends!  We have been blessed with the most gorgeous weather here this week.  I hope you have been having an enjoyable week as well.

I had the pleasure of hosting the "Ways to Use It" challenge over at Splitcoaststampers this past Thursday, so I combined that challenge with this week's fabulous sketch at The Sweet Stop.  The WTUI challenge was to use complementary colors...these are colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel.  For my sketch sample, I chose green and red. Now with colors like that, how can you not do a Christmas card?  So my sample this week IS the Christmas version!!                                                   Teeeheee!

Creative Nugget:  This adorable Cocoa's Ornament image is a digi stamp by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  It was colored with copic markers and the bow was given a coat of Star Dust Stickles to make it sparkle.  The BasicGrey patterned paper was from my scrap file...I am determined to use up more scraps before they take over my craft room!  The "Ruffles" were created by scrunching up some black wrinkled ribbon onto a piece of Scor-Tape and stitched to the card.  The colored image was then popped up on top with some dimensionals.  This was matted onto True Black card stock and a Vintage Cream card front.  A sentiment from the Cocoa's Gift clear stamp set was added under the ruffle. A little sponging around the edges and some black rhinestones finish the card.  I am happy to say that my Christmas card stash is growing. Hopefully this will eliminate some of the mad rush closer to Christmas!

Please take time to visit the other Sugar Babies to see more wonderful ideas for this sketch, then play along with us at The Sweet Stop!  Add some ruffles and the keyword SSS159 to your entry for a chance to win this Ticket Sentiments clear stamp set! from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

Can't wait to see your "Ruffled" entries!

Bubbles and Baubles

Good morning stamp lovin' friends!  I hope you've been having a wonderful week.  Kody and I have been enjoying the beautiful weather by taking long, leisurely walks every of the joys of retirement! Here it is Saturday again and time for another sketch from The Sweet Stop!  I have to admit...when I first saw this very different sketch, I was a little intimidated, but the more I looked at it, the more the creative juices began to flow, so let's get started.

Creative Nugget:  For my first sample, the circles on the sketch became bubbles and this sweet Mo Manning "Bubbles Girl" fit the ticket!  After choosing some coordinating patterned papers, the bubbles were cut with various circle punches and arranged on the Echo Park designer paper. They were then embedded by running the panel through the Big Kick with the Swiss Dots folder.  This was mounted on black and a Soft Sky card base.  The sweet little girl was colored with copics.  Glossy Accents and Dew Drops gave dimension to the bubbles...Fun! Coming up with a sentiment was challenging, but I like what I found in my stash and it was added as another bubble along with a button to finish the card!

I will also be entering this card in the CMC "Anything Goes" Challenge!

All Star Cocoa

Can you believe it's May already?  Here it is Saturday again and time for another Sweet Stop Sketch!  I hope you enjoyed playing along with our birthday celebration challenges last month...and congratulations to those of you who won prizes!  A new month brings with it some fabulous new sketches, so let's get started!

Creative Nugget:  For my sample, a brand new clear stamp set just released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, "All Star Cocoa," was used!  This image is perfect since my DH coached baseball for many years and several of my nephews have also played.  The image was stamped and colored once on the circle die and two more times on another piece of paper.  The two extra images were cut with everything but the tail, and the other with just the hands and the baseball.  These were layered on top of each other with pop dots giving the image a 3-D look. Grass from the "Serene Silhouettes" set was stamped on the circle die and again on an extra piece of paper and cut out. Clouds were sponged in the background with distress ink and a cloud template. The main panel was layered onto some Echo Park patterned paper and messy stitching was added around the border. Everything was attached to a Select White card base.  Buttons threaded with white floss were added to some die cut stars and attached to the card...after all this Cocoa is an "All Star!"

And here's the Christmas version:

Now check out more fabulous samples by some "All Star" stampers....the Sugar Babies!  I hope you get a chance to play along with us this week. Just add your photo using the linky tool over at The Sweet Stop!

May Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps May Release Blog Hop!  I know I say this every month, but this month's release is so amazing!  You will love the seven new clear stamp sets being released this evening, so grab a beverage and a tasty snack, and get ready for some amazing inspiration from the Design Divas!

To make the hop even more interesting, one lucky participant will have a chance to win the whole new release!  That's right...just leave a comment at every blog along the way and one lucky person will be chosen at random from a random blog to win the whole release!

If you've just come from the amazing DJ Rants, you're on the right track...otherwise you might want to go back to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog to start at the beginning.  You won't want to miss a single project!
For my first sample, I used the new "Wedding Collage" clear stamp set which includes one fabulous image and NINE wonderful sentiments perfect for blessing the happy couple on their wedding day!

Creative Nugget:  The collage image was stamped on Neenah Solar White paper and cut with a square nestie using the out-of-the-box technique.  Copic markers were used to color the image and to create a light halo around the couple.  Flower soft, pearls, and Stickles were added for texture.  The Bo Bunny patterned papers were layered onto Sweet Blush card stock and mounted to a Select White card base. A Spellbinders label die was used for the sentiment and some glittery twine from my stash was tied in a bow and added to the sentiment.

My next samples were made using the Nature Silhouettes Clear stamp set.  This set will quickly become one of my favorites!  It includes ELEVEN wonderful silhouette images!  I know I will be reaching for this set time and time again to make wonderful cards throughout the year!

Creative Nugget:  For this sample markers were used to color directly on the stamp and spritzed with water before stamping the image onto Select White card stock. Piercing and stitching was added to the BasicGrey and lilybeedesign DP layers along with Baker's twine and pearls. The sentiment is from the Birds & Roses stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  A clean and simple layout was used to create this card.  The silhouette daisies were inked up with Ripe Avocado ink and one of the sentiment images was inked up in Walnut Stain ink and the two were "Kissed" together.  It's difficult to see on the photo, but the script was imprinted on the daisies.  The dragonfly was given a layer of Peeled Paint Distress Stickles.

I hope you've enjoyed my samples as much as I enjoyed making them.  Now head on over to our guest designer for the month, the amazing Jenny Harper! Here's the whole list of bloggers today in case you get lost along the way.

Make plans to join us tonight at 8:00pm EST over in our Member Company Forums on Splitcoaststampers for our New Release Party!  We'll have full reveals of each fabulous stamp set, fellowship and chatter with friends, fun challenges, and more!
