Friends - DD Color Challenge

Happy Saturday, everyone!  I actually have two friendship cards to share with you today...the first was created for the Divinity Designs Color Combo Challenge. This month we are using colors inspired by papers from the Fall Favorites Paper Pad...just a little reminder that summer is coming to an end and Fall is on its way.

I decided to use the Forever Friends stamp set for my sample...I just love these cone flowers in fall colors!

Creative Nugget:  The new Z Fold Card with Layers Dies were used to create the base  of the card and some of the layers were cut with papers from the Follow the Son Paper Pad which coordinate with the Fall Favorites pad.  The sentiment peeking out from the second fold was embossed on and layered to circles cut with the Circles and Filigree Circles Dies.

The card opens to reveal a whole field of coneflowers which were masked and stamped repeatedly across all of the panels and colored with Copic Markers.  The new Farm Fence Die was used for the fencing and the sentiment was stamped on a banner cut with one of the Treat Tags Dies.

For my second card we head down to the farm!

Creative Nugget:  The blue and green papers from the Boho Bolds Paper Pad were cut with the Sunburst Background Die and the Grass Hill Die to form the background for the farm scene. The animals are all from the Farm Friends Stamp/Die Duo and were colored with Copic Markers.  Other dies used to create the scene include the Barn, Farm FencePierced Circles and Fancy Circles dies.

By making a little T cut with a craft knife around the barn doors, they fold open to reveal a white embossed sentiment inside...along with two more farm friends!  The sentiments are from the Hogs & Kisses stamp set.

Heartwarming Friendship

Hello friends!  Today I'm sharing a couple of cards over on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog using products from the August release.  First up is a card created with the Tea For Two stamp set.  What a cute set...perfect for sending warm wishes!

Creative Nugget:  A background was created with some papers from my stash and a little stamped texture using one of the stamps from the Texture Tiles 3 stamp set.  The steam from the Tea for Two stamp set was stamped over the texture and a heart shaped frame was cut using some Spellbinders Dies.  The teapot, cups and tea bag were colored with Copic Markers, cut with my Scan 'N Cut and popped onto the card.  The split sentiment was embossed above and below the heart frame to finish the card.

My second card features the Stamp of the Month which is available free with a $75 purchase until the end of the month.

Creative Nugget:  Twilight and Sand Castle inks were swiped down a sheet of white card stock.  The wood grain stamp from Texture Tiles 2 was used with Black Jack ink to create texture.  A wood grain texture plate was then used to emboss the panel before it was cut into four sections.  The sections were mounted to a piece of pink card stock.  A Tim Holtz die was used to cut two spirals and the bird from the Singing Praises stamp set was Copic colored to resemble a bluebird, cut with the Scan 'N Cut and mounted to the card.  A sentiment from Sentimental Wordfetti was embossed on a banner die cut to finish the card.

The stamp sets used are available from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.

Looking Back at the Divinity Designs August 2019 Release

Good morning, friends...happy Friday!  Today we are going to head to the farm to look back at the Divinity Designs August 2019 Release. I have used some of the new farm dies and stamp sets on my Z Fold Card.

My project uses the Farm Friends Stamp/Die Duo, sentiments from the Rise & Shine stamp set, and the Barn and Farm Fence Dies.

Creative Nugget:  The card base and layers were cut with the Z Fold Card with Layers Dies from card stock and papers from the Follow the Son and Fall Favorites paper pads.  All of the cute animals are from the Farm Friends Stamp/Die Duo and were colored with Copic Markers.  All of the fencing was cut with the Farm Fence Die and the grass was cut with the Grass Hill Die.

This photo shows the Z Fold Card opened.

I just love how the Barn Dies work together to create such a wonderful home for the animals!  The circles, representing a sunrise, were cut with a Pierced Circles Die.  All of the sentiments are from the Rise & Shine stamp set.

Here is the back of the card...

...and another Barn on the back.

For my first sample, I used the Singing Praises stamp set designed by Nina Brackett which is the August Stamp of the Month, free with your $75 order before shipping and taxes.

Creative Nugget:  A background was made with Oxide Inks and script text from the Texture Tiles 1 stamp set was added.  The feather panel was created by white embossing the feather from the His Wings stamp set and sponging Oxide inks over the embossing.  This was spritzed with water and white acrylic paint splatters were added.  The Chickadee from the Singing Praises stamp set was colored with Copic Markers, cut with my Scan 'N Cut and popped onto a sponged, stitched square panel.  The sentiment was white embossed on card stock and adhered across the bottom of the card.  A few pearls were added to finish the card.

I wanted to use the little ladybug from the new Tea for Two stamp set for my second card.

Creative Nugget:  Leafy branches from the Fantastic Flowers stamp set were colored with Copic Markers, cut with my Scan 'N Cut and added to the corner of a smooshed  Oxide ink background.  A PTI fence die cut was added to the lower corner. The little flowers and ladybugs from the Tea for Two set were added to the fence and the leaves.  A sentiment from the Sentimental Wordfetti stamp set was stamped on the fence to finish the card.

Two for Tuesday - Color My World

Hello everyone!  It's time for another Two for Tuesday feature over at the Divinity Designs Blog.  My cards today feature the Color My World stamp set and the Globe & Stand Dies from Divinity Designs.

Creative Nugget:  Two concentric panels were cut with the Pierced Rectangles Dies, sponged with Distress Ink and mounted on black card stock.  The sentiment from Color My World was embossed on the smaller rectangle.  Paper from my Gelli Print stash was cut with a Circle Die and used as a base for the Globe & Stand which was placed off the edge of the smaller rectangle. The smallest of the Sparkling Stars Dies were used to cut accents to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  For the stepped up version, the larger white panel was covered with paper from the Weathered Wood Collection.  The smaller mixed media panel was created with Distress Oxide Inks and some sponging was applied through the Circles Stencil to add texture.  The sentiment was embossed on a Pierced Circle die cut, layered onto a black Circle die cut and also placed off the edge.  The same little stars were added as accents.

Be sure to hop on over to the Divinity Designs Blog to see more Two for Tuesday creations!

Hope your week got off to a great start...thanks so much for stopping by!

Hey Chick!

Happy Friday to all my peeps!  Today I'm sharing a couple of cards using some farm themed products released by Divinity Designs this month.

Creative Nugget: Oxide inks were applied to the back of the Arrows Stencil, spritzed with water and smooshed onto a piece of mixed media paper cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die to create a splash of color.  Some twine was wrapped around the card front and A Circle cut from the following card was popped over the twine.  Love the Chicken Wire Background Die and those adorable little peeps from the Farm Friends Stamp/Die Duo.  A sentiment from the Hogs & Kisses stamp set was embossed up in the corner and some sequins added to finish this CAS card.  There you have it...1 sentiment, 2 colors, 3 peeps, 4 layers, and 5 sequins!

My second card features all the same stamps and dies!

Creative Nugget:  The Chicken Wire Background was mounted to a piece of mixed media paper covered with a splash of Oxide inks to create the card front.  The little peeps were randomly stamped through the Chicken Wire and a Circle cut from the lower corner. This is the circle that was used for the card above...can't resist a chance to use all the leftovers!  A little frame was created using the Double Stitched Circle and Circle Dies to place around the circular aperture.  Two banners were cut with one of the Treat Tags Dies...the black one was adhered across the circle and a sentiment from the  Hogs & Kisses stamp set was embossed on the yellow one.  Another of the sentiments was embossed on the yellow circle and an extra little chick added to finish the card.

Back to School

Hello friends!  WOW...it's August already!  That means it's time for a new release by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps AND almost time for the kids to head back to school.  One of the new stamp sets designed by Jennifer Nilsson, Back to School, is perfect for tucking little notes into a child's lunchbox or sending the new teacher a note of appreciation. I'm sharing a couple of cards over on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog today.

Creative Nugget:  The design of this card is from the current Mojo Monday Sketch.  Oxide inks were applied to an acrylic block, spritzed with water and stamped onto the upper corner of the card.  The corner was masked off and the Typewriter Text Background was stamped over the color.  The images were colored with Copic Markers, cut out and mounted to the card following the sketch.

Creative Nugget:  The background on this card was created the same way as the card above.  More images from the Back to School stamp set were colored, cut out and mounted to the card. A little Glossy Accents was added to the windows on the bus and schoolhouse to finish the card.

The following stamp sets from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store were used to create the cards above:

My first sample features the new Hogs & Kisses stamp set and the Farm Friends Stamp/Die Duo.

Creative Nugget:  I used the Surprise Box Dies to create the collapsable box and covered it with layers cut from papers from the Boho Bolds and Christmas Coordinating 2015 Paper Pads.  The new Farm Fence Die was used to cut two fences which were wrapped around the bottom of the box.  The sentiment is from the Hogs & Kisses stamp set and was embossed and cut with a Pierced Circle Die.  Those cute little piggies are from the Farm Friends Stamp/Die Duo.  Grass cut with the Grass Hill Die was used to decorate each of the Layering Hearts die cuts on which the little "Hogs" were mounted.  The XOXO's were cut with the Long and Lean Letter Dies.  The Clouds and Raindrops Dies were used to make additional embellishments to finish the Surprise Box!

My second project uses the new Z Fold Card with Layers Dies and the Rise & Shine stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  The card base was cut with the new Z Fold Card with Layers Dies.  The layers were cut from mixed media paper sponged with Oxide Inks.  Farm Fence, Grass Hill, Pierced Circles, Circles, and Fancy Circles dies were used to create the scene and the sentiment.

The rooster from the Rise & Shine stamp set was colored with Copic Markers.  The Chicken Wire Background die cut was glued to paper from the Weathered Wood Collection and a frame was cut from the panel.  A Double Stitched Square and a Square Die were used to make a window sill.  The sentiment was embossed, cut with a Double Stitched Oval and mounted to a Pierced Oval die cut.  The sentiment on the opposite panel was embossed and cut with a Pierced Circle Die and mounted to a Circle die cut to finish the card.
