And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Flower Blocks 1

Hello everyone!  Welcome back to Day 4 and the final day of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps March Release Features!  We have another fabulous stamp set to share with you today!

Today's feature is:
This gorgeous set of large flower block images is a dream to color.  You'll love adorning your Spring cards with these lovely images and sentiments.
  • Set includes 4 images and 4 sentiments
  • Set measures approximately 6" x 8"
  • Images measure approximately 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"
  • Illustrated by Korin Sutherland
  • Set is priced at $26
I had so much fun coloring the gorgeous tulip in this set!  Here's my sample:

Creative Nugget: Can you believe there's no DP on this card!  The background panels were created by randomly stamping the tulip block first in Cherry Cobbler, then in Crushed Curry.  The edges were sponged before mounting each panel on matching card stock.  These were attached to a Square Solar Crest card base. Now the fun begins...the top panel was stamped in Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic Markers, bringing out the colors of the background panels.  The sentiment was stamped on a banner die and sponged a little while the banner was still in the die.  Gingham ribbon and pearls were added to finish the card.  I really like how this one turned out and hope that you do, too!

The Design Divas did an amazing job creating Flower Block samples for your viewing pleasure...just click on the thumbnails below and get ready for a fabulous hop!

  • Set includes 1 image and 5 sentiments
  • Set measures approximately 4" x 4"

Here is a sample made with this set.  My card is a CASE of a card made by Janette Olen and was submitted for the Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoaststampers last Sunday.  Hope you like it!

Creative NuggetThe cross image was colored with Copic Markers, cut with a Lattice Rectangle die, and sponged with Broken China Distress Ink while still in the die.  Some panels of My Mind's Eye DP were added as well as some embossing, some stitching, rhinestones, and a bow.  I couldn't decide where to add the sentiment, so I'll be choosing one of the five sentiments included with this set to put on the inside.

Sweet Baby Mine

Happy Sweet Stop Saturday, stamping friends!  I hope you've been staying cool!  With temperatures near 100 and humid I have been hiding inside with the air conditioning to stay comfortable.  That hasn't been all bad because I've been getting some stamping projects finished.  There's even a Christmas version for this week's sketch by The Sweet Stop...so let's get started!

Creative Nugget:  This past Thursday, the Ways to Use It challenge at Splitcoaststampers was to include something child-like on your card or project.  This gave me the opportunity to use our new sketch for this week AND my favorite Vintage Baby image by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. The image was stamped, colored with copic markers, cut out with an oval nestie, and sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  This gorgeous Graphic 45 patterned paper and Old Olive card stock was used for the layers on the sketch.  Each layer was distressed with a scissors and distress ink.  Piercing was added around each border.  Some lace was layered on the strip of adorable baby faces.  The main image was layered onto a scalloped oval and popped up on top of the horizontal panel.  Liquid Pearls was added to each scallop.  A button and a sweet tiny tag was tied onto the lace with some button jute to finish the card.  Hope you like it!

And here's the Christmas version:

I hope you are able to play along with SSS165.  Here's The Sweet Stop sketch for this week and some inspiration from the talented Sugar Babies!

Girly Girl Time

Happy Sweet Stop Saturday, stampin' friends!

Don't you just love to kick back at times and spend time with the girls...sorry guys, but it's true!  Yesterday I had time to do just that...yup...spent the whole day stampin' and coloring away, met some new friends, had a few laughs, enjoyed breakfast out...fun, fun!  Girly girl time is definitely fun and relaxing!  Believe it or not, this intro leads me right into today's sketch at The Sweet Stop!

Creative Nugget:  How's this for girly girl?  This adorable image is from the "Girly Girl Cookie" clear stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  It was stamped in Tuxedo Black ink and colored with copic markers.  You can't have girly girl without some glitz and glitter, so the nail polish was covered with Glossy Accents and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  The rims of the lipstick tube and nail polish lid were colored with a Gelly Roll pen for a little glimmer.  The image was cut with a circle nestie and mounted on a Picot Edge circle die.  The designer paper panels were mounted on True Black, pierced, and faux stitched with a white gel pen.  A white scalloped border was embossed with Swiss Dots and layered onto the triangle panel. Everything was mounted on a Select White card base.  A tiny tag was tied onto one of the circle loops with white floss, and black pearls were added down the left side to complete the card.  I must say that this was a fun card to make!

Now it's your turn!  Before you rush off to your favorite stamping place, take a look at what the other Sweet Stop girls have created.

Just a Note

Hello friends!  What a busy week this has been..I'm so glad it's Saturday and time for another fabulous sketch from The Sweet Stop!  I enjoyed working with this one and I'm sure you will, too...so let's get started!

Creative Nugget:  I just love this flower and butterfly image from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  It's from a clear stamp set called, "Treasured."   The "Vintage Postcard" elements were stamped on a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock in Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.  The butterfly image was stamped in Tuxedo Black, then stamped again on a scrap piece of card stock. Both images were colored with copic markers, and the image on the scrap paper was cut out. The main panel was then cut with a circle nestie and sponged around the edges while still in the die.  The Echo Park panel pieces were layered onto Close to Cocoa card stock and adhered to a Vintage Cream card base.  A piece of lace was used for the second strip in the layout design and the Eyelet Border Die was cut from a coordinating piece of patterned paper.  Some ribbon was woven through the die cut and a button tied on.  The little tag was made from the Tiny Tags stamp set and matching die by Papertrey Ink.  The second butterfly image was then popped on top and the leaves curled slightly with a scissors.

I'm taking a copic class at the Color Me Creative Classroom to improve my copic skills, and my homework was to practice coloring with reds...so this card and the Christmas version will be submitted for my homework assignment!

I hope you'll play along with us this week at The Sweet Stop!  Don't forget to check out the wonderful samples by the amazing Sugar Baby Team!

Colorful Complements

Hello stamping friends!  We have been blessed with the most gorgeous weather here this week.  I hope you have been having an enjoyable week as well.

I had the pleasure of hosting the "Ways to Use It" challenge over at Splitcoaststampers this past Thursday, so I combined that challenge with this week's fabulous sketch at The Sweet Stop.  The WTUI challenge was to use complementary colors...these are colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel.  For my sketch sample, I chose green and red. Now with colors like that, how can you not do a Christmas card?  So my sample this week IS the Christmas version!!                                                   Teeeheee!

Creative Nugget:  This adorable Cocoa's Ornament image is a digi stamp by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  It was colored with copic markers and the bow was given a coat of Star Dust Stickles to make it sparkle.  The BasicGrey patterned paper was from my scrap file...I am determined to use up more scraps before they take over my craft room!  The "Ruffles" were created by scrunching up some black wrinkled ribbon onto a piece of Scor-Tape and stitched to the card.  The colored image was then popped up on top with some dimensionals.  This was matted onto True Black card stock and a Vintage Cream card front.  A sentiment from the Cocoa's Gift clear stamp set was added under the ruffle. A little sponging around the edges and some black rhinestones finish the card.  I am happy to say that my Christmas card stash is growing. Hopefully this will eliminate some of the mad rush closer to Christmas!

Please take time to visit the other Sugar Babies to see more wonderful ideas for this sketch, then play along with us at The Sweet Stop!  Add some ruffles and the keyword SSS159 to your entry for a chance to win this Ticket Sentiments clear stamp set! from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

Can't wait to see your "Ruffled" entries!

Bubbles and Baubles

Good morning stamp lovin' friends!  I hope you've been having a wonderful week.  Kody and I have been enjoying the beautiful weather by taking long, leisurely walks every day...one of the joys of retirement! Here it is Saturday again and time for another sketch from The Sweet Stop!  I have to admit...when I first saw this very different sketch, I was a little intimidated, but the more I looked at it, the more the creative juices began to flow, so let's get started.

Creative Nugget:  For my first sample, the circles on the sketch became bubbles and this sweet Mo Manning "Bubbles Girl" fit the ticket!  After choosing some coordinating patterned papers, the bubbles were cut with various circle punches and arranged on the Echo Park designer paper. They were then embedded by running the panel through the Big Kick with the Swiss Dots folder.  This was mounted on black and a Soft Sky card base.  The sweet little girl was colored with copics.  Glossy Accents and Dew Drops gave dimension to the bubbles...Fun! Coming up with a sentiment was challenging, but I like what I found in my stash and it was added as another bubble along with a button to finish the card!

I will also be entering this card in the CMC "Anything Goes" Challenge!
