And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Taking a Look Back at ODBD July Release

Hello friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs July Release.  I've been having so much fun with the pennant stamps and dies from this release!  For my pennant sample today I used a Double Display Card now available in packs of 6 at the Our Daily Bread Designs Store.

Here is the card closed:
Creative Nugget:  Green card stock and DP from the Blooming Garden Paper Collection were layered on each of the card panels. Since I wanted the pennants to face in, the border was stamped with the Pennant Alphabet and the little letters from the Pennant Swag Alphabet were punched with a 1/4" circle punch and layered on top.  The pennants and the green mats were cut with the matching Pennant Dies.  The Zinnia was cut with the Zinnia and Leaves Dies and was colored with distress inks.  Some Fancy Foliage die cuts were also added to complete the from of the card.

And here is the card opened up:
The Vintage Label Die cut was stamped with the Honeycomb Mini and layered onto a green mat.  Copic Markers were used to color the flower pot and tools from The Good Seed stamp set which was then fussy cut and popped up on the card.  The sentiment from the Be Joyful stamp set was mounted on a Vintage Flourish Pattern die cut.  The birthday pennant from the Pennant Swag 2 stamp set was cut with the matching Pennant Swag Die and hung across the top of the panel.  A few bees from the Zinnia stamp set were added to complete the garden theme of the card.

Here are the new and some old favorite supplies from the
Our Daily Bread Designs Store that were used to create this birthday card:

ODBDSLC138 - Border It!

Hello friends...happy Tuesday!  I'm so glad you decided to stop by because it's time for another Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge!

This week's challenge is:
Border it- use your dies and punches to make a special border on one, two or all sides

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a PRIZE...a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs Store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Sunday, January 20th at 8 p.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them. As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing three or more of our participants  for the  Shining the Light Award.  In order to qualify for this award or join the challenge; however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday,  January 20th at 8 p.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC138.  When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.

Creative Nugget:  I found myself reaching for one of my very favorite ODBD stamp sets, You Will Find Refuge, to make this diamond fold birthday card and matching corner bookmark.  Both techniques use the diamond shape for the main panel, so this birthday ensemble came together quickly.  The card has a layered border on two sides, and the bookmark has the border on the bottom!  The chickadees were colored with Copic Markers and cut with the matching Chickadee Die making it very easy to pop them on top of the Marvelous Squares dies.  The sentiment is from the Be Joyful set and twine bows and pearls were added to finish the card.

Be Joyful!

Hello sketch lovin' friends!  I hope this post finds you well and that you've been able to stay away from that nasty flu bug..I've heard it really wipes you out for a few days!  So far, the Lord has kept me healthy and for that I'm joyful!

Oh my...what a busy week at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!  A new release and five mini blog hops featuring each of the sets has literally kept us hoppin'! Now it's Saturday and time for a new sketch over at The Sweet Stop.  Even though the release festivities are over, I found myself reaching for one of the new sets once again...LOVE Long Stem Silhouettes and know it will get a lot of use since it is so versatile.

Creative Nugget:  The choice of colors for this card came together when I saw these two pieces of patterned paper lying on the floor next to each other in my scrap pile.  After they were sized correctly for the sketch, one was given a punched border and both were stitched to Neenah Solar White and attached to a Kraft card front. The white strip was scored and the Baker's twine was wrapped around the card between the score lines.  The long stem flowers were stamped twice in VersaMagic and white embossed on a piece of Kraft card stock.  This panel was stitched to a piece of white.  The sentiment is from the Be Joyful stamp set by Our Daily Bread Designs, and was also stitched to a piece of Kraft.  A button was added and a Viva Pearl Pen was used in the centers of the flowers to finish the card.

There's lots of wonderful inspiration over at The Sweet Stop from my fellow Sugar Babies so be sure to check out each one and leave a little love behind.  Here's this week's SSS193!

Thinking of You

Hello stampin' friends!  Not only is is Saturday and time for a fun new sketch at The Sweet Stop, but this weekend I'll be thinking of you as I am working at the Sweet 'n Sassy booth at the Heirloom Rubber Stamp & Paper Arts Festival in York, PA!  If it's anything like last year's show, my wallet will suffer a tremendous blow!  LOL!  If you're anywhere near York, stop in and say, "Hi!"  Before you come go to Sweet 'n Sassy's Member Forum at Splitcoaststampers for a fabulous discount coupon!

Now...on to my sample for this week!

Creative Nugget:  I loved this week's sketch...wait a minute...I say that every week, don't I!  LOL!  I began building my layers by stitching some new Indie papers by My Mind's Eye to Chocolate Chip card stock and adhered them to a Vintage Cream card base.  The sentiment from the "Scripture Series 3" from Our Daily Bread Designs was stamped onto Neenah Solar White with Rich Cocoa ink and framed with the flower flourish from the "Be Joyful" set, also by ODBD.  The flowers were colored with Copic Markers to match the DP. This was cut with an Oval Nestie and framed with a Scalloped Oval. Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish Die cuts were used to further frame the wonderful sentiment.  I always use Stampin' Up!'s Photo Corner Punch to make my fishtail banners...that way I can make them any size I want.  The Thinking of You sentiment was mounted on some Chocolate Chip card stock and added to the card as well as some pearls to the center of the flowers.  What do you think?  I will also be submitting this card to the ODBDSLC125 Challenge which was to use a sentiment and fall colors.

If you haven't done the Sweet 'n Sassy October Release Blog Hop yet, scroll down to my last post for the details...there's still time to qualify for the $25 dollar prize!  Then hop on over to the Sugar Baby blogs for some more wonderful inspiration for this week's sketch challenge at The Sweet Stop!
