And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Creative Nugget:  Wintery papers by Fancy Pants were stitched to Scarlet Jewel card stock and used for the background and the crossed panels on the sketch.  The sentiment from Winnie's Warm Wishes was stamped and the square panel embossed with a snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder.  A little Heart die cut was colored with Wink of Stella, covered with Glossy Accents and added to finish the sentiment.  Winnie was colored with Copic Markers and cut with one of the the Decorative Plaques Dies.  A bow made of metallic thread was added along with some rhinestones for some sparkle to finish the card.

Welcome to SNSS February 2015 Release

Hello, sweet friends!  Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps February 2015 Release Day Blog Hop! It sure is cold outside, but our February release is sure to warm your heart so grab your favorite hot beverage and get ready to be inspired by the projects created for you by the talented Design Divas!

You can find out all the details about each of the new stamp sets and dies on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog, but here are several samples to inspire you using some of the new products:

Creative Nugget:  Can you believe that Winter with Winnie was designed by a high school student?  That's right, Wynne Gettelfinger designed Winnie, the adorable character who is so much fun to color up with Copic Markers.  Some snowy patterned paper, a few Small Snowflakes, and one of the new Speech Bubble Dies is all it takes to create a cold winter scene with a choice of some very fun sentiments!  The design for this card was taken from this week's Mojo Monday Sketch.

SNSS products that were used to make this Winter with Winnie card:

Next up is a card made with one of the new critters designed by Diane Zechman in the Get Well Critters stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  This little chick with a wounded wing from the Get Well Critters stamp set is adorable and sure to perk up the hurting recipient with a smile.  Being able to cut out the image with the matching Get Well Critters Die makes creating a quick get well card a snap.  Just add some patterned paper, some embossing, a few sequins, and a fun sentiment!

SNSS supplies used to make this Get Well Critters card:

My last sample was made with the new remaining products being added to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store, Keep in Touch, Too, Banner Dies, and the Praise the Lord Bluebird Die.

Creative Nugget:  With the freezing weather outside, this card makes me feel like Spring is right around the corner.  The sentiments are all from Gloria Stengel's Keep in Touch, Too set and fit perfectly in some of the new Banner Dies.  Two of the banners were tucked behind the patterned paper strip and the third was popped up on top.  The bluebird is from the favorite Praise the Lord stamp set and was colored with Copic Markers and cut with the new Praise the Lord Bluebird Die.  A bow and some pearls finish the card.

These SNSS materials were used to make this card:

Wildflowers to Bless You

Hello everyone!  It's Wednesday and time for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  I'm hosting today so I hope you can come play along.  Our Daily Bread Designs new Wildflower Silhouette Background was used for my sample.

Creative Nugget:  The Blooming Garden Paper Collection was used to make the panels for the sketch design and were matted and stitched to Golden Harvest and Wasabi Green card stock. The Wildflower Silhouette Background was stamped directly on the designer paper.  The Asters and Leaves Dies were used to make the flower and some Fancy Foliage was added for interest. Two of the Beautiful Borders die cuts were attached side by side with seam binding and a bow tied down the middle.  The sentiment from the new Life is a Gift stamp set was stamped on a Mini Tag die cut and attached to finish the card.

Here is the sketch that was used for the card design:

This card will be entered in the following challenges:

ODBD February 2015 Release

Hello friends!  Everything's coming up wildflowers with the new February 2015 Release by Our Daily Bread Designs.  Wait until you see the gorgeous scenes created by the fabulous Design Team with the matching outline and silhouette images in this month's release. AND…Squeeeee…two new word dies!

Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until February 2, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments on the Designers' Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on February 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

Here is my first project made with some of the new products:
Creative Nugget:  Distress refill inks were used to create a sunset background for the new Wildflower Silhouette Background which was stamped over the dried watercolors with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  A white paint pen was used to add highlights to some of the wildflowers.  Another panel was made on Solar Crest card stock using the Faithful Fish Pattern Die released last month. The middle section was removed and the other two sections matted in black were popped up with foam tape allowing the wildflowers to be seen in the middle.  The Happy Birthday word die was cut once out of paper from the Blooming Garden Paper Collection and three times from black card stock.  The die cuts were glued together for dimension and mounted across the center section of the card. The same was done with the ballon dies which are included in the Happy Birthday Die Set.  The balloon was colored with Wink of Stella for some sparkle and covered with a layer of Glossy Accents.  A Metallic thread bow was added to finish the card.

My second sample was made with both the Wildflower Silhouette Background and the coordinating images from the Life is a Gift stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  Each section of the center step card base was layered with Neenah Solar Crest card stock and paper from the Blooming Garden Paper Collection.  The Wildflower Silhouette Background was white embossed on the two side panels directly onto the patterned paper.  Copic Markers were used to color the wildflowers from Life is a Gift and then the Vintage Labels Die was used to cut the panel.  The same die was used to cut a blue mat which was cut down the middle and separated a little to create a frame for the main image.  The Gilded Gate die cut was embossed and lightly sponged with distress ink and mounted to the front of the card.  The sentiment from Life is a Gift was stamped on a Mini Tag die cut and tied to the gate to finish the card.

Here are the new release products available at the
Our Daily Bread Designs Store used on my projects…

Feeling Fowl?

Hello friends!  Does all the freezing weather and snow have you feeling fowl?  Here's a cute card to help you feel better!

Creative Nugget:  Now don't you just feel like smiling!  This adorable wounded chick is part of the new Sweet Perks Bundle, Get Well Critters, by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  There are dies to match the images in the stamp set, but they have not arrived yet, so I just colored the chick with Copic Markers,  fussy cut it, and popped it up for dimension.  Since this little guy is teeny, less than 2", I will submit it for the Free 4 All Challenge today on Splitcoaststampers which is to mask off an area of less than 2 1/2" or use a die cut shape for a teeny image.  The design of the card was taken from this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch.

Here is the fun bundle being offered at a discount until
February 5th at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.

This is the Sweet Sunday Sketch used for the card design!

Thanks so much for stopping by…stay warm and healthy!

A CASE of Angela

Hello friends…it's a snowy day here in the northeast which gave me a chance to stay in and do some stamping.  I have two quick cards to share…both challenges on Splitcoaststampers and both made with stamps and dies from the Our Daily Bread Designs January release.

Creative Nugget:  Today's Inspiration Challenge was to use something from Angela Maine's Blog, From the Tool Shed, to inspire us…not hard to do since I love everything Angela creates.  I chose her Give Thanks card for the design and the popped up elements.  The Piano Background was used for the bottom of the card.  After stamping the piano keys, the Flourished Star Pattern Die was used to cut the panel which puts small pierced dots around the border.  A Spellbinders Border Die was used to make the scalloped edge on the top part of the card.  The treble clef note from the Just a Note stamp set was stamped and colored with Copic Markers...the panel cut again with the Flourished Star Pattern Die and debossed with the Faithful Fish Pattern Die.  The note was stamped and colored again, fussy cut and popped onto the first one.
The sentiment is from the Mini Tag Sentiments stamp set and the tags were cut with the Mini Tags Dies.

Creative Nugget:  The Triple Stamping Technique was used to make the second card.  The Piano Background was stamped and embossed and three rectangles using the Spellbinders Matting Basics Dies were cut from the panel.  The three rectangles were matted with black and pink card stocks.  Seam binding was wrapped around two of the panels before popping them all back on top of each other matching the piano design on each panel.  The sentiment is from the Music Speaks stamp set.  The Two Step Butterfly was cut with the coordinating Grunge Butterfly Die and the butterfly trail was cut using the Fancy Foliage Die.  Pearls were added to finish the card.  This card will also be submitted to the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge # 167

Thanks so much for stopping by…keep safe and warm if you are in the northeast!

Hugs,
Cathymac

Out With the Old, In With the New

I just love the new Sweet Sarah and Sassy Cindy stamp sets by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!  Sassy Cindy is especially relevant for me since I have a sister-in-law named Cindy...she's very sweet and not very sassy…most of the time!  LOL!  However, I did use the Sassy Cindy set to make her a card for her upcoming birthday.

Creative Nugget:  Some festive Doodlebug papers were used to create the different layers from last week's sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  The square layer was turned into a shaker with multi-colored sequins inside.  Sassy Cindy was colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut, and popped on top of the acetate.  One of the new Speech Bubble Dies was used to cut out the fun sentiment, which is very appropriate for my SIL because she works at the post office.   I hope she gets a kick out of this card!

Here are the supplies from the Sweet 'n Sassy Store that
were used to make this card:

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps must make room for all the new releases planned for 2015, so it's time to say good by to over 40 old favorites.  That's good news for you because you get to pick up some of these much loved sets at a great price!  Be sure to check out the sale items by clicking the banner below…you might just find a set or two that's been on your wish list.

Thanks so much for stopping by…hope you've been inspired! Have a wonderful day!

Welcome, my friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs January 2015 Release.  Get ready to view some gorgeous musical creations made with the stamps and dies released this month.  These projects will put a song in your heart and leave you singing!

Creative nugget:  The Mojo Monday sketch was used for the design of this card.  The colors are from the ODBD Shining the Light Color Challenge.  A piece of Neenah Solar crest card stock was sponged with yellow, lavender, and a soft blush color, then cut and debossed with the new Faithful Fish Pattern Die to make the background for this card.  A panel of DP from the Christian Faith Paper Collection and a portion of the Piano Background were added next.  The image from Music Speaks was colored with Copic Markers, the panel pierced, and a Beautiful Border die cut was attached to the bottom edge.  The sentiment from the Just a Note stamp set was masked and stamped to fit on a Mini Tag. Several pearl and rhinestone flourishes and a little bow were added to finish the card.

Supplies that were used to make this card can be found at
