And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

ODBD Two for Tuesday: Just a Note

Hello friends!  Have you noticed a new feature over at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog...Two for Tuesday?   The idea is to create two cards...one a more simple version and the other a stepped up version.  Today I'm sharing my first two submissions for this new feature.

The Just a Note Stamp set was used for the first set of cards.

Creative Nugget:  The Faithful Fish Pattern Die was used for the background on both cards.  Two perpendicular panels were stitched to the front of each card.  The note was colored with copic Markers.  The note was cut with oval dies on the first card, but was framed with the Layered Lacey Ovals Die on the stepped up card.  The stepped up card also features Pennant Flags dies for the sentiment.
Stamp Set: Just a Note

The In My Heart Stamp/Die Duo was used for my second set of cards.

Creative Nugget:  Copic markers were used to color the hydrangeas on both cards.  A tag and a lattice background was added to the stepped up card.  Sequins were added to both cards.

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Make a Joyful Noise

Hello friends!  I have another quick challenge card for you today.  The musical theme of the card came from the Splitcoaststampers' Ways to Use It Challenge for today.
Creative Nugget:  I took this card apart several times before ending up with this…ever do that?  The Faithful Fish Pattern Die was used to emboss the top of the background layer.  The bottom is KaiserCraft designer paper.  A Punched scallop border separates the two sections.   Amazing Grace was stamped in Watering Can Archival Ink and cut with a Rectangle Nestie for the second layer.  Finally the treble clef from the beautiful Just a Note stamp set by Our Daily Bread Designs was stamped, colored with Copic Markers, and cut with a Matting Basics Die from Spellbinders.  All of the layers were matted and stitched to Smokey Shadow or Blushing Bride.  Jute was colored with a Copic Marker to match, a bow made, and pearls added to finish the card.

Here are the supplies from the Our Daily Bread Designs Store used on my card for today:

The MOJO Monday sketch was used for the design of my card.

The shabby, vintage colors came from The Card Concept.

As always…I appreciate your visit!  Thanks so much for stopping by…have a wonderful day!

A CASE of Angela

Hello friends…it's a snowy day here in the northeast which gave me a chance to stay in and do some stamping.  I have two quick cards to share…both challenges on Splitcoaststampers and both made with stamps and dies from the Our Daily Bread Designs January release.

Creative Nugget:  Today's Inspiration Challenge was to use something from Angela Maine's Blog, From the Tool Shed, to inspire us…not hard to do since I love everything Angela creates.  I chose her Give Thanks card for the design and the popped up elements.  The Piano Background was used for the bottom of the card.  After stamping the piano keys, the Flourished Star Pattern Die was used to cut the panel which puts small pierced dots around the border.  A Spellbinders Border Die was used to make the scalloped edge on the top part of the card.  The treble clef note from the Just a Note stamp set was stamped and colored with Copic Markers...the panel cut again with the Flourished Star Pattern Die and debossed with the Faithful Fish Pattern Die.  The note was stamped and colored again, fussy cut and popped onto the first one.
The sentiment is from the Mini Tag Sentiments stamp set and the tags were cut with the Mini Tags Dies.

Creative Nugget:  The Triple Stamping Technique was used to make the second card.  The Piano Background was stamped and embossed and three rectangles using the Spellbinders Matting Basics Dies were cut from the panel.  The three rectangles were matted with black and pink card stocks.  Seam binding was wrapped around two of the panels before popping them all back on top of each other matching the piano design on each panel.  The sentiment is from the Music Speaks stamp set.  The Two Step Butterfly was cut with the coordinating Grunge Butterfly Die and the butterfly trail was cut using the Fancy Foliage Die.  Pearls were added to finish the card.  This card will also be submitted to the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge # 167

Thanks so much for stopping by…keep safe and warm if you are in the northeast!

Taking another look at the ODBD January 2015 Release

Welcome, my friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs January 2015 Release.  Get ready to view some gorgeous musical creations made with the stamps and dies released this month.  These projects will put a song in your heart and leave you singing!

Creative nugget:  The Mojo Monday sketch was used for the design of this card.  The colors are from the ODBD Shining the Light Color Challenge.  A piece of Neenah Solar crest card stock was sponged with yellow, lavender, and a soft blush color, then cut and debossed with the new Faithful Fish Pattern Die to make the background for this card.  A panel of DP from the Christian Faith Paper Collection and a portion of the Piano Background were added next.  The image from Music Speaks was colored with Copic Markers, the panel pierced, and a Beautiful Border die cut was attached to the bottom edge.  The sentiment from the Just a Note stamp set was masked and stamped to fit on a Mini Tag. Several pearl and rhinestone flourishes and a little bow were added to finish the card.

Supplies that were used to make this card can be found at

Music Speaks

Hi all!  I'm hosting the first Sketch Challenge of 2015 on Splitcoaststampers today so come join the fun!
Here's my sample:

Creative Nugget:  The background is made with one of the pretty patterns in the Blushing Rose Paper Collection by Our Daily Bread Designs.  It was die cut and debossed with the new Faithful Fish Pattern Die for a nice subtle texture.  The treble clef from the Just a Note stamp set was colored with Copic Markers, and both it and the sentiment from the Music Speaks stamp set were cut with a Spellbinders Matting Basics Die.  One of the Beautiful Borders Dies was used to make a bit of trim for under the treble clef, and a ribbon and pearls were added to finish the card.

Here is SC522, the sketch that was followed for the design:

This card will also be entered for the Word Art Wednesday Challenge # 165 - Anything Goes.

Thanks so much for stopping by…have a wonderful Wednesday!
