And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Color Burst and Silhouettes

Hello friends!  Today is my turn to host the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  I was able to pick up some Color Burst pigments over the weekend and wanted to try them out…how vibrant the colors are!  They work perfectly with silhouette images and this beautiful We Three Kings silhouette by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps was tailor-made for this medium.  Not only that…another Christmas card was added to my stash for this year!

Creative Nugget:  Spritzed a piece of mixed media card stock with water leaving the bottom corner dry.  Sprinkled on the Color Burst pigments…a tiny speck goes a long way... and watched the magic as the colors spread and mixed together.  Kept spritzing and adding color to achieve the desired result.  The sentiment and the image were stamped with Archival Jet Black ink.  Some silk ribbon was dyed with color that was left over on my craft mat providing a perfect match for my card.

"When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.  And when they had come to the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshipped Him.  And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh."
Matthew 2:10-11 (NKJV)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Praying for those in North and South Carolina!

What's Your Birthstone?

Hello friends!  What's your birthstone?  That's the question on Splitcoaststampers' Ways To Use It Challenge for today to create a card using your birthstone and one neutral color.  Since September is my birth month, sapphire is my birthstone.  It was easy to come up with a blue and white card using the new We Three Kings stamp set just released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.
Creative Nugget:  This card was actually a failed attempt at the emboss resist technique.  The Cobalt Archival ink stuck to the embossing creating a lighter blue color that did not wipe away. Since I did not have time to redo it, I left it as is…the look is growing on me…another Christmas card is finished!
