And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Throwback Thursday - Ornate Hearts

Hello friends!  It's time for Throwback Thursday over at Divinity Designs and the feature for today is perfect for Valentine's Day, which will be here before you know it...the Ornate Hearts Dies.

Creative Nugget:  VersaMark Ink was sponged through the Circles Stencil onto Kraft card stock and embossed with white powder to create the frame.  Distress Oxide inks were splattered onto a mixed media panel and Kraft ink was sponged through the Circles Stencil for the background.  A border using Paper from the Shabby Rose Paper Pad was added to the card and the Ornate Hearts Dies were layered and attached to the border.  The sentiments from the Festive Favors Tag Sentiments were stamped on the tags cut with dies from the Festive Favors Die Set.  A few sequins were added to finish the card.

A matching favor was made using some of the left over pieces from the card above.  Festive Favors Dies and the Ornate Hearts Dies were used to create the little favor filled with Valentine candies.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Buttons and Lace

Hello friends!  I'm hosting the Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoaststampers today where I'm challenging everyone to use buttons and lace, faux or real, on card creations for today's gallery.  My sample uses both real lace and buttons along with pearls and a little texture for a vintage style card.

Creative Nugget:  I used the Freshly Made Sketch 174 for the design of my card and used the beautiful Blushing Rose Paper Collection by Our Daily Bread Designs to piece together the card front which was inspired by the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Inspiration Photo.  The designer papers were stitched to Kraft card stock and mounted to a Vintage Cream card base.  A little texture paste was added to the upper right corner.  A piece of lace was woven through the Ornate Hearts die cuts also by ODBD. The sentiment from the Ornate Border Sentiments stamp set was stamped on a Mini Tags die cut in Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Fancy Foliage die cuts, mulberry flowers, pearls, and buttons add to the vintage look of the card.
Here are the supplies from the Our Daily Bread Designs Store that were used to make this card:

Celebrating 6 Years at ODBD

That's right... the Our Daily Bread Designs Store has been open for SIX years! We are celebrating today with four new Anniversary stamp sets...two Scripture Collections: 12 and 13, a Quote Collection, and a Sentiment Collection.  Each member of the Design Team has contributed their favorite scripture, quote, or sentiment to these inspiring "Go TO" stamp sets, so sit back and enjoy the samples we have made for you!

Three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments left on the designers' blogs to receive a $25 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store to be used towards the purchase of ODBD stamps.  ONE lucky random commenter will be chosen to win the 2014 Anniversary Bundle!  You have until March 18th, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EST to leave your comments!  The winners will be posted here on the ODBD Blog on March 19th, so be sure to check back to see if you won!

My first sample is my contribution to Quote Collection 4.
Creative Nugget:  The scene from The Mighty Sea was sponged, stamped with Versafine ink, and colored with Copic Markers on a Solar Crest panel.  A frame was cut from Kraft card stock with Classic Circle Nesties, stamped with the Fishing Net Background, and attached so the sea could be seen through the frame.  The banner panel was hand cut, sponged, and stamped with the Corrie ten Boom quote.  Some piercing was done inside the frame and a little stitching holds the banner onto the card front.  Some netting and shells were added and the front panels attached to a Basic Black card base.  Two little sea birds were carefully hand cut and popped on for dimension to finish the card.

Here is another quote from Quote Collection 4:
Creative Nugget:  Spellbinder Opulent Oval Dies and some soft sponging were used to frame this beautiful quote from the set. The SB A2 Filigree Delight Die was stitched to Kraft card stock and mounted to a Blushing Bride card base to form the front of the card.  Piercing was added around the frame and an ODBD Custom Beautiful Border Die was attached toward the bottom of the frame.  The seam binding was sponged to match the card and attached between the oval layers.  The tails of the bow were woven through the gaps in the frame.  One of the small hearts from the Bless Your Heart stamp set was white embossed on kraft and the other was sponged on Vintage Cream.  Both were cut with the ODBD Custom Ornate Heart Dies.  A few pink pearls finish the card.

I just love all of the quotes from this wonderful set and know that I will be reaching for them time and again!  Here are the many ODBD supplies used to create these two samples:

Looking Back at the ODBD February Release

Hello friends!  Today we are revisiting the fabulous Our Daily Bread Designs February Release.  This release was just brimming with love and lots of gorgeous hearts.  Here's a sample made with just a few of them!

Creative Nugget:  The front of the card was created by stitching and piercing together several new designer papers from the beautiful Heart & Soul Paper Collection.  One of the Beautiful Border Dies was cut twice and layered with a strip of DP to make the scalloped border.  The shaker part of the card was created by stamping the Bless Your Heart on Select White card stock and cutting it with the scalloped Ornate Heart Die.  A sentiment from the set was also stamped on this piece.  The frame was cut using two of the Ornate Heart Dies nested together.  The smallest of the heart dies was used to make the hearts inside the shaker, and little pearls were added to some of them.  A piece of acetate was attached to the back of the scalloped frame.  A double layer of mounting tape was used to attach the frame to the stamped heart with the little hearts inside.  A bow and one of the little hearts finish the card.

These materials from the
Our Daily Bread Designs Store
were used to make this card:

Heart and Soul

Hello everyone!  Since I'm hosting the sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers today, I thought I'd post my sample for you here as well. The heart on the sketch was perfect for the new heart stamps and dies just released by Our Daily Bread Designs!  Since Heart & Soul was on my desk, that's the one I used for my card…love the patriotic theme!

Creative Nugget:  Two of the Beautiful Borders were attached to Select White card stock for the horizontal panels on the sketch. Stars were embossed on the Brocade Blue banner and swiped with a Fresh Snow stamp pad to make the stars pop a little.  This panel was stitched to Brocade Blue card stock and mounted on a Select White card base.  Brocade Blue and Real Red markers were used to color the Heart & Soul stamp to achieve the two tones. The heart was then cut with the matching Ornate Heart Die and popped up with mounting tape.  The sentiment from the Heart & Soul stamp set was also colored with markers to get the two tones.  Some jute colored with a marker and a veneer arrow were added to finish the card.

Here are the supplies from the
Our Daily Bread Designs Store used to make this card:

And here is the SC474 sketch for today on Splitcoaststampers…hope you can join in!

L-O-V-E

Good morning friends!  There are two GOOD things about lots of snow!  First... it's gorgeous before pollutants have had a chance to contaminate it…so clean, pristine, and pure! What a perfect picture of a person who has been forgiven of their sins.  Isaiah 1:18 says, "Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow;  Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool."  Aren't you thankful for God's mercy?

The second GOOD thing about snow is that work sometimes gets cancelled, and that means more "Stamp Time."  So, today I decided to play along with the Shining the Light Challenge over at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog. The challenge this week is a recipe…include something on your card that begins with each letter in the word "L-O-V-E."

Here's what I came up with:

Creative Nugget:  Spellbinders dies and ODBD Custom Ornate Hearts Dies and Fancy Foliage Dies were used to create the layers on the front of the card which was stitched to a Vintage Cream card base.  The sentiment from the new Love You Bunches stamp set was white embossed on vellum and sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  Flowers, lace, pearls, and ribbon make the card feminine and give it a touch of vintage.  Here's how my card creation spells "LOVE" :
L - Layers, Lace,  O - Oval, Ornate Heart Dies,  V - Vellum, Vintage,
E - Embossing, Embellishments

The following supplies from the ODBD Store were used to make this card:

My card will be entered into the following challenges:

Hello friends!  February brings us just a little bit closer to spring and warmer weather…and I'm ready for that…how about you?  The beginning of February also brings us a new release from Our Daily Bread Designs, and WOW…what a release it is…romantic, vintage, and whimsical heart stamp sets along with gorgeous heart dies perfect for Valentine's Day, Wedding, and Anniversary cards and gifts!  You will see gorgeous and diverse samples with this release as you visit the blogs of my super talented Sister Sticks!

Three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments left on the designers' blogs to receive a $25 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store to be used toward the purchase of ODBD stamps.  You have until February 2, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EST to make your comments!  The winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on February 3rd, so be sure to check there to see if you won!

My first sample uses the Clean Heart stamp set, the Ornate Hearts Dies, and the Beautiful Borders Dies

Creative Nugget:  The Clean Heart was white embossed on Kraft card stock and some of the little flowers were colored in with Gelatos and rubbed in with a baby wipe for just a touch of color. This was mounted on the largest of the Ornate Heart Dies.  One of the Beautiful Borders was added behind the heart and both were mounted on a piece of designer paper which was stitched to Cherry Cobbler card stock and a coordinating piece of designer paper on an angle.  Another layer of Cherry Cobbler was added and the whole card front was mounted to a Soft Stone card base. A double bow, a little Ornate Heart stamped with one of the sentiments from the Clean Heart stamp set, and a pearl finish the card.

My second sample uses a different sentiment from the Clean Heart  stamp set along with the Ornate Hearts Dies, the Beautiful Borders Dies, and some of the beautiful new Heart and Soul Paper Collection.

Creative Nugget: The Heart and Soul Designer Paper and the Ornate Hearts Dies are the main feature on this card as the only stamping is the sentiment.  The papers and dies are layered onto Basic Gray card stock and a Solar Crest card front.  A bow, silver cord, and silver pearls finish the card.

In case you missed it, here is another card already posted on my blog…click HERE for the details.

Bless Your Heart

Hello friends and happy Saturday!  Since I don't have to work this Saturday, I found myself with some stamping time this morning!  The card I made is a sneak peek of some beautiful new heart stamps, dies, and sentiments being released by Our Daily Bread Designs on February 1st. These stamp sets are perfect for Valentines, encouragement, wedding cards, or just to express your love any time of the year.  The best news is they are available now in the Our Daily Bread Designs Store as a Pre-Order!

Here is a card I made with the Bless Your Heart Stamp set and the Ornate Heart Dies:

Creative Nugget:  My card was inspired by this Prayer Journal Cover on the Integrity Graphics site.  The Deuteronomy 6:5 scripture verse, from the Scripture Series 3 stamp set, was embossed on the Fancy Pants designer paper.  This panel was stitched to Vintage Cream card stock and mounted on a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" Cherry Cobbler card base.  The top and bottom hearts were embossed on the same paper and cut with the Ornate Hearts Dies. The large heart in the middle was cut from coordinating papers also using the Ornate Hearts Dies.  The hearts were hung from the top of the card with twine.  A loopy bow and a pearl were aded to finish the card.

I just love this scripture verse.  It is only because the Lord loves us that we are able to love Him and others…We love Him because He first loved us! (1 John 4:19)

This card will be entered into the following challenges:
