Poinsettia Wreath

Hello friends!  I have a quick card to share with you that was made for two challenges... the Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoaststampers was to use a wreath on your card or project, and the sketch from the Shining the Light Challenge on the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog was used for the design.

Here's my card for both challenges:

Creative Nugget:  Nothing is as warm and inviting as a wreath on the door, and with Christmas just a few weeks away, I reached for this pretty Poinsettia Wreath just released by Our Daily Bread Designs this month.  The front of the card was made by stitching an Antique Border Die to some of the pretty papers from the Christmas Paper Collection 2013 and Cherry Cobbler card stock. This panel was mounted on a Vintage Cream card base and a gold pen was used to make a border around the card.  Both the wreath and the poinsettias were gold embossed on some of the other papers from the paper collection and cut with the matching Poinsettia Wreath Dies.  The head of the cardinal on the DP was slit to allow the wreath mounted on a Spellbinders Scalloped Circle Die to be tucked under.  The sentiment from the Gift of God set was gold embossed on vellum and a gold loopy bow was added to finish the card.

Sweet

Hello sweet friends!  The week is winding down, so I hope you're having a good one.  I have just a quick card to share with you today.  I have an incredible sweet tooth and this week Splitcoaststampers is trying to indulge me!  Both the CAS Challenge on Monday AND the Ways to Use It Challenge today insist that we use candy on our card. Candy Cane, just released this month at Our Daily Bread Designs, was perfect for these challenges and also helped me add another card to my Christmas stash!

Creative Nugget:  Stripe embossed Solar Crest and Bo Bunny striped DP matted with Smokey Shadow card stock form the front of the card.  A Smokey Shadow punched border and some Baker's Twine separate the two which were mounted to a Solar Crest card base.  A few splatters of Barn Door Distress Ink were added.  The candy cane image was colored with Copic Markers and covered liberally with Ice Stickles.  The image was cut with a Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics Die and mounted on a Smokey Shadow mat. The sentiment, from The Gift of God set, was stamped on a hand cut banner and added along with some Twinkle Goosebumps to finish the card.

Noel

Happy Sunday, friends!  I have just a quick card to share with you today created for the Shining the Light Challenge this week at Our Daily Bread Designs.

Creative Nugget:  This week's challenge was a word challenge... "Noel."  Here's what I used:

N - Noel, Nesties;  O - Ornaments, Organdy Ribbon;  E - Embossing;  L - Lots of Layers

A piece of Turtle Dove paper by KaiserCraft was matted onto scarlet Jewel Card stock and adhered to a Vintage Cream card base.  The frame , made from Labels Seventeen Dies, was stamped with the Joy to the World Hymn in Scarlet Jewel after stamping off twice.  This was then embossed with the Canvas Impression Plate.  The swag from the Gift of God set was stamped three times, colored with Copic Markers and all three were cut out.  The ornaments from the Holiday Ornaments 2 set were gold embossed on Vintage Cream and Scarlet Jewel card stock, Cut with the matching dies, and hung from the frame with gold cord.  The swags were then popped up on top.  And another Christmas card done!  Time is running out!
