And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Spotlight on Birch Trees

Hello sweet friends!  Today I'm sharing two cards over at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog.  I love the new stamp sets released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps this month, but I still love some of the old sets as well.  My cards today feature both the new and the old.

This first card uses the new Through the Trees stamp set as well as the Scene Silhouettes: Woodland set and the Thoughtful Words set designed by Nina Brackett.

Creative Nugget:  The scene was stamped twice with the help of my Misti...once on Neenah card stock and once on mixed media paper.  Intense Color Blocks were used to watercolor the mixed media scene and ODBD Pierced Circle Dies were used to cut circles from the top layer.  The sentiment from the Thoughtful Words set was embossed on the top layer as well.  The top layer was popped over the watercolored layer using foam tape.  The animals from the Scene Silhouettes: Woodland set were embossed and cut with my SanNCut.  They were also popped onto the card with foam tape.

My second card uses the old Precious Poppies and Floral Greetings stamp sets.  Unfortunately I needed a sympathy card for a friend who just lost her father and the poppies were perfect.

Creative Nugget:  The poppies were gold embossed on Neenah card stock and watercolored with Intense Color Blocks. Fossilized Amber Distress Ink was sponged through a TH Burlap Stencil for a little shading behind the flowers.  The sentiment is from the Floral Greetings stamp set and was gold embossed on a black banner.  A bow made with metallic gold thread and black pearls were added to finish the card.

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

Thanks so much of stopping by!  Have a delightful day!

Birthday Floral

Hello friends!  Just popped in to share a birthday card using the Splitcoaststampers Sketch for today and another of the fun, new Pretty Potted Florals designed by Nina Bracket from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.

Creative Nugget:  The background for this card was made by applying watered down distress inks with an acrylic block on some mixed media paper, some sponging through a crackle stencil, and then sprayed with some Gilded Gold Art Anthology spray…a bit messy, but a pretty layer for my Copic-colored Pretty Potted Floral.  The little Majestic Monarchs were stamped on scraps of the background paper, cut with the matching Monarch Die, and mounted on coordinating squares of card stock.  The sentiment from another new stamp set, Floral Greetings, was embossed on a pennant flag die cut.  Some white accents, a little bow, and a pearl of Nuvo Crystal Drops were added to finish the card.
These stamp sets from Sweet 'n Sassy were used to make this card:

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
Simon Says Monday - Favorite Tool (Copic Markers and the Big Shot Plus)
Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge 86 - Colors (Light Yellow, Peach, Teal)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a beautiful day…even if it is not your birthday!

Hugs,

Floral Greetings

Hello everyone!  Just sharing a few cards from the new Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps February release.  SNSS just added two beautiful floral sets designed by Gracie Chavez and Nina Bracket and three Bible journaling sets, one of which is a new set in the Jesus collection.  The inspiration for these cards came from several challenges.

Creative Nugget:  One of the images from the beautiful Floral Greetings set was white embossed on water color paper. Kuretake watercolors were used to color the flowers on this background panel.  The same flower was stamped on Neenah card stock with Rich Cocoa Memento ink, colored with Copic Markers, and fussy cut. The sentiment is just one of seven included in the set.  The design is from Freshly Made Sketches but I did flip the orientation.
My second card was made using the new Pretty Potted Florals stamp set designed by Nina Bracket.

Creative Nugget:  The design for this card came from CAS(E) This Sketch.  A frame was cut from green card stock and Penny Black paper.  The flower pot was colored with Copic Markers and accents added with a white gel pen.  The sentiment is another one included in the Floral Greetings set and was white embossed on a vellum banner.  A bow and some Bitty Sparkles were added to finish the card.
Here are the new stamp sets from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store used to make these cards:
All of these pretty flowers are making me yearn for Spring!

These cards will be entered in the following Challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by…have a wonderful day!
