And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Season of Wonder

Hello friends!  This past weekend I had the pleasure of teaching a class and working the "Make and Take" table for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps at the Heirloom Rubber Stamp & Paper Arts Festival in York, PA.  People were in awe of the beautiful card created by Korin Sutherland that we did for the "Make and Take."  Korin's card can be found HERE on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog.  When I saw that the Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoaststampers yesterday was to use denim in some way…including using the color of denim…I immediately thought of Korin's card.  The card I have to share today is a CASE of her card.  I changed the stamp sets and used the design from Wednesday's Sketch Challenge at Splitcoaststampers to modify my card.

Creative Nugget:  Light of Christmas was lightly stamped on the background with Tumbled Glass Distress ink, and the tree from the Christmas Silhouettes stamp set was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.  Modeling paste snow was added to this panel but was mostly covered by the top two layers.  The moon and snowdrifts on the backgrounds were masked and a combination of Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans, and Seedless Preserves distress inks were sponged on the night sky and the drifts.  The tree was again stamped on both layers, while the houses from the Happy Home stamp set and a sentiment from Christmas Innies were stamped on the smaller panel.  (It was quite by accident that the tree image lined up on the two panels…love when things like that happen!)  The deer was stamped, cut with the matching Christmas Silhouettes Die, and popped onto the top of the card.  A white Sharpie paint pen and Wink of Stella were used to add shimmer and accents to the card.  Thanks for the inspiration, Korin, as I really like how this card turned out...

…and I hope you like it, too!
Enjoy your day and be blessed by the wonder and beauty that surrounds you.

Hugs,
Cathymac

And FinallyChristmas Innies

  • The longest sentiment measures approximately 3 1/4" x 1 1/4"
  • Designed by Korin Sutherland
  • Stamp set price is $15
Here are the cards I made with these wonderful Christmas stamp sets…
First ~ Christmas Morn:
Creative Nugget:  This modified tri-fold has a window through all the layers so you can see the Christmas Tree from the Christmas Morn clear stamp set which was stamped in Fern Green Archival ink on the last panel.  A Christmas tree must have decorations so sequins and gem stones were added to finish the card.

Here is the middle panel.
And here it is opened the whole way.

Next: Jesus is Born:
Creative Nugget:  The Light of Christmas Background was stamped on a piece of Vintage Cream card stock and cut with the Birch Forest die.  This was mounted on a piece of Soft Sky card stock.  A torn piece of Solar Crest was embossed with Swiss Dots and attached to the bottom for the snow drift.  The deer and birds from the Tender Thoughts stamp set were cut with the matching dies from the Birch Forest Die Set and added to the scene.  Finally splatters of watered down acrylic paint and Baker's twine were added to finish the card.  The sentiment from the Jesus is Born stamp set was perfect for this winter scene!

My last card is from the new Christmas Innies stamp set:
Creative Nugget: The background for this card was made by embossing the Leafy Flourish Background with Sparkle Embossing Powder.  The Season of Love silhouette was framed with Pool Party card stock and mounted to the card.  The sentiment from Christmas Innies…yes, they are wonderful for the outside of your cards as well…was framed and mounted to a fishtail banner.  A few rhinestones and pearls finish the card.
