And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Welcome to the SNSS August 2015 Release

Hello, friends!  Welcome to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps August 2015 Release Blog Hop!  We are super excited not only about the three brand new stamp sets being released this month, but also about adding a brand new illustrator to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps team…Karla Dornacher.  Karla is an inspirational speaker, writer, and illustrator whose Bible journaling designs are just amazing!  You will see the stamp set she designed for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps this month as you hop along to the different Design Diva Blogs.

Blog Hop Giveaway!
What would a Blog Hop be without a giveaway, right?  One random commenter from one of the DT blogs will be selected to win a $20 Gift Code to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  You have until Thursday, August 20th at midnight EST to leave your comments.  The winner will be posted on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog on Friday, August 21st!

My first sample uses the new Little One stamp set.  This darling baby set is a much needed addition to the
Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps line.  The vintage looking silhouettes and beautiful sentiments in the set can be used to create sweet baby gifts and cards.

Creative Nugget:  The Floral Pattern Background was white embossed on Neenah card stock and sponged with Distress Inks. This panel was cut diagonally and stitch to the embossed Dotted Swiss layer.  The sweet footprints from the Little One stamp set were also white embossed and sponged with the same colors as above.  The sentiment was white embossed on pink card stock and hand cut into a banner.  A Scallop Border was embossed with Swiss Dots and attached to the banner.  Dyed ribbon and some rhinestones were added to finish the card.

My next sample was made with Karla's new stamp set, Worship the Lord.  Not only can this fabulous stamp set be used to create cards, but bookmarks and Bible Journal entries as well.

Creative Nugget:  Every image in the Worship the Lord stamp set was used to create the Bible verse from Luke 4:8 in the margin of my Journaling Bible.  StazOn Jet Black ink was used to stamp the images.  This ink did not bleed through the page, although you can see a shadow of the images on the back of the page.  The images were then colored with Prismacolor Pencils.  A white Sharpie Paint Pen was used for the highlights.  Please share your experiences with Bible Journaling in your comments.  I look forward to learning what mediums work for you!

Here are the new products and some old favorites from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store that were used to create my samples:

Love the Bible journaling. I will have to check out this new trend. Are there certain Bibles that are good for this?

Such a sweet baby card!!! I recently bought a journaling Bible, but I can't make myself write/draw/doodle in it....afraid I'll mess it up, haha!! Your stamping and coloring is beautiful, so maybe I should try that! Thanks so much for sharing!

Love how you cut the background on the diagonal. Gives it an added interest.
The bookmark is beautiful. I'll be making some of those, along with adaptations.

LOVE your baby card! It's soft & feminine without being "mushy," if you know what I mean. (Not sure if that's the right word, but it's as close as I can get!) Great idea to do the white heat embossing and ink, and I love the angled cut on the panel and your stitching! I've never heard of Bible journaling before this hop, so I don't really have any experience or tales to tell on that point. Anyway, thanks for sharing your artwork! :) ~ Andrea

Oh, Cathy, both cards are beautiful, and the baby card is just sweetness! But I am captured by the Worship the Lord set...truly! I've always been an underliner and someone who writes in the margins of my Bible. But this set really is drawing me into the possibility of using art as a part of journaling in my Bible reading time. Thanks for your wonderful creative nuggets about using this set in our Bibles. I so appreciate it and may just have auto get this set...soon! Thanks for the beauty of your cards, your helpful creative nuggets, and your heart for Him! Hugs, sweet friend!
