And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

God Is

Welcome to Day 4 of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Feature Blog Hops for the month of August!  I hope you've been inspired by the hops thus far.  I just love the images we will be sharing with you today...we're featuring Dina Kowal's wonderful companion set to His Child.
Today's feature is:
  • Stamp set includes 3 images and 5 sentiments
  • Set measures approximately 4" x 6"
  • The drummer boy image measures approximately 1 1/2" x 2 1/2"
  • Designed by Dina Kowal
  • Stamp set is priced at $15
God's mercies are new every morning...He goes before us and prepares our steps!  I'm so glad!  The inspiration for my sample came from this thought and the Technique Lovers Challenge yesterday at Splitcoaststampers which was to create an external frame and an internal greeting.

Here is my card for God Is:
Creative Nugget:  The outside of the card was made by embossing the sun rays with a Tim Holtz embossing folder by Sizzix.  The rays were masked and sponged with Memento inks.  A circle frame was made with Spellbinders Circle and Scalloped Circle Nesties.  This panel was stitched to a True Black mat.  The gingham bow was tied through the frame before attaching the panel to a Solar Crest Card front from which a circle frame had been cut to allow the inside to peek through.
The inside of the card was made by inking up several acrylic blocks with Memento inks and spritzing them with water before applying the ink to the Solar Crest panel.  The little boy pulling the wagon and the sentiment from God Is was stamped over the color blocks with Versafine Onyx Black ink along with other silhouette images from Serene Silhouettes and Nature Silhouettes 2.  This was then embossed with a Canvas Impression Plate and matted in True Black.

Here is another card using the swinging boy image from God Is that was featured in a previous post.  For more details about this card, click HERE.

I think you'll agree...these images are just darling!

Cathy,
I'm just smitten with this set! You've delighted our senses with your cards and the techniques you've used. Each one radiates the care you took when creating it. I'm a huge fan of Tim Holtz (Arizona boy). Love that sun ray (it's very reminiscent of the Arizona State flag). Although I live in Virginia, my husband lived in and met in Arizona.

The blocking on the second card looks wonderful as the backdrop for this image. Wonderful idea.

And my personal favorite, your last card. Every detail is beautifully thought out and created. Thank you Cathy for sharing all three cards with us today.

The images are darling! And so are your cards! The first is really fun with those sun rays and the decorated inside. And I love the mostly white space on the second.

Cathy, Your cards are amazing! I love how your sun ray card allows a peek at the little boy inside with the well thought out color blocking! Very clever! The boy on the swing in your second card looks like he is about to swing into the landscape. And I would be remiss if I didn't tell you how much I love the stitching on both of your cards. I love this entire release but this set is my absolute favorite! Thanks for sharing your beautiful cards!
