And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Christmas Topiaries

Hello friends!  Even though it feels like summer, it is officially autumn and that means the crunch is on to get enough Christmas cards finished before December!  The Splitcoaststampers Sketch for today was perfect for adding one more to my stash.

Creative Nugget:  I did end up flipping the sketch to accommodate this tree in the Christmas Topiaries stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  Pretty, warm country papers found in my stash were stitched together to make the card front.  The topiary was colored with Copic Markers and Glossy accents and Wink of Stella were added for shimmer, shine, and texture.  Twine speckled with gold was added along the side to finish the card.
As long as I am sharing...here is another Christmas Topiary card from the same stamp set:

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by...have a wonderful day in your neck of the woods!

Looking Back at the ODBD September 2017 Release

Hello friends!  Today we are taking another look at the Our Daily Bread Designs September 2017 Release!  My thoughts and prayers go out to all those in our country suffering loss due to the hurricanes, floods, fires and natural disasters.  These patriotic samples were made to honor those first responders working tirelessly to bring relief to our fellow Americans.

My first sample uses the USA single stamp.

Creative Nugget:  USA was stamped repeatedly over a Kraft panel and cut with two of the Pierced Rectangle Dies.  Each piece was splattered with white acrylic paint and stitched to white card stock.  An Ornate Heart Die was used to cut the heart which was sponged and popped onto the front of the card.  USA was stamped in black, red, and blue, fussy cut and paper pieced, then added to the heart.  Sparkling Stars were cut from paper from the Stars and Stripes Collection.  The smallest stars were left overs from using the USA Flag Die.

The next sample uses the USA Flag Die and the Remembrance stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  Red, White and Blue card stocks were cut using the USA Flag Die and pieced together to create the flag card front.  The Circle and Pierced Circle Dies were used to cut a metallic gold frame.  Metallic gold and blue card stocks were cut with the Sparkling Stars Dies.  The sentiment from the Remembrance stamp set was gold embossed, cut with a Circle Die and framed with a metallic gold Pierced Circle.  These pieces were put together to resemble a Medal of Honor.  Small blue stars and a gold metallic bow were added to finish the card.

My last sample uses the Defining Force single stamp.

Creative Nugget:  The Defining Force sentiment (**LOVE**) was blue embossed to the upper left part of a white panel cut with the Pierced Rectangle Die.  Two panels were cut from paper from the Stars and Stripes Collection and stitched to blue paper also from the Stars and Stripes Collection.  Sparkling Stars Dies were used to create a star frame which was tied onto the card with jute twine.  The Pennant Row Die was used to cut a banner for the top of the card.

Christmas Topiaries

Hello friends....yes, it's time to begin working on Christmas cards!  I can't believe I just said that!

Creative Nugget:  This beautiful topiary is part of a new set designed by Krista Hamrick and just released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  Layers of Echo Park papers in my stash were stitched together to make the card front.  The topiary from the Christmas Topiaries stamp set was colored with Copic Markers and cut with a Layered Lacey Ovals Die.  The poinsettia border at the bottom was fussy cut with the last poinsettia popped up on a die cut heart.  Some clear Nuvo Crystal Drops were added for some texture.  Today's sketch from Splitcoaststampers was used for the card design.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

My first sample was made with the new USA Flag Die.

Creative Nugget:  The USA Flag Die was used to cut flag pieces from white card stock and papers from the Stars and Stripes Paper Collection.  The pieces were adhered to a white panel to form the flag.  This was mounted to another paper from the Stars and Stripes Collection and then to a card base.  A sentiment from the Justice For All stamp set was red embossed on a panel cut with a Double Stitched Rectangle Die and mounted to a frame cut with one of the Lavish Layers Dies.  Sparkling Stars Dies were used to make starry accents to finish the card.

My second sample uses the Defining Force stamp.

Creative Nugget:  Two papers from the Stars and Stripes Collection were cut with the largest Pierced Rectangle Die, cut to fit a card front, and stitched together.  The wonderful Defining Force sentiment was embossed in red and blue.  Highlights were cut from the red sentiment and popped on top of the blue.  The panel was cut with another Pierced Rectangle Die and mounted to another panel cut with a Double Stitched Rectangle Die.  The Sparkling Stars Dies were used to make the star accent.  A bow was tied through the star to finish the card.

My third and final sample was made with the new Double Display Card Die and the Double Display Layers Dies.

Creative Nugget:  The Double Display Layers Dies now make this fancy fold a snap to create.  After cutting and folding the card base, layers were cut from papers from the Stars and Stripes Collection.  "God Bless" was cut using the Alphabet Dies....these are perfect for customizing a greeting or sentiment....and mounted to a panel cut with  an Ovals Die and mounted to a Layered Lacey Ovals die cut.  See the tiny little stars? They were left over from the Flag Die used on the first card at the top of this post.  The larger stars were cut with Sparkling Stars Dies. Balloons and Streamers Dies were used to make the balloon accent.

The USA stamp single was used on the inside of the card.  The stamp was embossed in black, red, and blue.  The letters were fussy cut and paper pieced to create the sentiment.
