And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Joyful Christmas - DD Color Challenge

Happy Saturday, everyone!  It's time for another Divinity Designs Color Combo Challenge. This month we are using colors inspired by papers from the beautiful Christmas Collection 2018.

This challenge was perfect for getting a jump start on my Christmas cards this year so I decided to use the pretty poinsettias from the Joyful Christmas Stamp/Die Duo for my sample.

Creative Nugget:  The Pop Out Card with Layers Dies were used to cut the base of my card from heavy card stock and the layers from the Christmas Collection 2018 papers.  Copic Markers were used to color the poinsettias which were popped onto a doily cut with one of the Fancy Circle Dies.  A Belly Band was cut to hold the card closed and the doily panel was mounted to the front of it.

When the Belly Band is removed the card pops open to reveal a sentiment from the Joyful Christmas Stamp/Die Duo.  The dies used to create the sentiment panel include the Layered Lacey Squares, Pierced Circles, and Circles.

Christmas Card Throwdown

Hello friends...Happy Saturday!  I am thrilled to be guest designing for the Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge today.  The technique challenge for this week is to use heat embossing on your card...what a perfect opportunity to finish my first Christmas card for 2019!

Creative Nugget:  Splashes of Distress Oxide colors were added to a mixed media panel before embossing it with the Flourishes Folder from Divinity Designs.   VersaMark ink was applied to the Leafy Edged Border and gold embossed.  The sentiment from the Joyful Christmas Stamp/Die Duo was also gold embossed on the bottom panel.  The poinsettia from the Merry Christmas Stamp/Die Duo was embossed and cut out twice...once on mixed media paper and once on vellum.  The mixed media Poinsettia was watercolored with Zig Real Brush Markers and the vellum one was mounted over the colored one.  I love using pearls and gems as embellishments...they are so appealing to the eye and the great thing about them is that you can emboss them any color to match your project.

I hope you were inspired by my card to play along with the Christmas Card Throwdown!

Two for Tuesday - Joyful Christmas

Hello friends!  It's time for another Two for Tuesday feature over at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog.  I used the new Joyful Christmas Stamp/Die Duo for both of my cards.

Creative Nugget:  The poinsettia branch image from the Joyful Christmas Stamp/Die Duo was repeatedly white embossed over a mixed media panel that was cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die. Distress Oxide inks were applied over the embossing.  A frame was cut from pink card stock using Pierced Rectangle Dies.  One of the sentiments from the set was green embossed and cut with a Pierced Circle Die.  The Peaceful Poinsettia Dies and the Pine Branches Dies were used to cut the poinsettia embellishment to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  A panel of paper from the Christmas Coordinating 2015 Paper Pad was cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die and added behind the frame on this stepped up version of the card.  Additional layering dies used include a Bitty Borders Die, a Lavish Layers Die and a Filigree Circles Die.  A Mojo Monday Sketch was used for the design of this card.

Welcome to the ODBD November 2018 Release

Hello, friends!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs November 2018 Release.  This month's ODBD release is filled with more wonderful stamps sets and dies perfect for your Christmas crafting.  The poinsettia flowers in this release are just beautiful!

My first sample was made with the new Merry Christmas Stamp/Die Duo.

Creative Nugget:   The Tri-Fold With Layers Dies were used to cut the card base and the layers which were cut from papers from the Christmas Collection 2018 Paper Pad.  The poinsettia from the Merry Christmas Stamp/Die Duo was colored with Copic Markers and cut with the coordinating die.  Both sentiments from the set were stamped on Pennant Flag banners and accented with holly leaves cut using the Christmas Bells Dies.

My second samples made with the new Joyful Christmas Stamp/Die Duo.

Creative Nugget:  The Poinsettias on this card are from the Joyful Christmas Stamp/Die Duo and were also colored with Copic Markers to match the papers from the Christmas Collection 2018 Paper Pad.  Rectangle and Double Stitched Rectangles Dies were used to cut the frame and the Poinsettia Inset Die was used to cut the poinsettia overlay.  Oval and Ornate Ovals Dies along with Circles and Double Stitched Circle Dies were used to cut and mat the sentiment.

These new products from the Our Daily Bread Designs Store were used to create the cards above...
