And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness

Throwback Thursday - Glorious Gable Box

Hello friends!  It's time for another Throwback Thursday over at Divinity Designs and the feature for today is the Glorious Gable Box Dies which can be used to make a unique little gift box.

Creative Nugget:  Distress Oxide inks, Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey, Weathered Wood and Shabby Shutters, were smooshed onto the Circles Stencil, spritzed with water and pressed onto pieces of mixed media paper.  The Glorious Gable Box Dies were used to cut the pieces for the box from these papers.  Only one of the inserts were used to cut just the front of the box.  After assembling the box, the same inks  were blended onto another piece of mixed media paper.  The Small Bow Dies, the Bitty Butterfly Dies and the Bitty Blossoms Dies were used to cut the accents used to decorate the gable box.  The sentiment and banner are from the Wavy Words Stamp/Die Duo.  A few black pearls were added to the butterfly and the centers of the flowers to balance out the black on the embossed sentiment and finish the gable box.

Hoppy Birthday - DD Color Challenge

Happy Saturday, everyone!   Divinity Designs is hosting another Color Combo Challenge feature over on the Divinity Designs Blog today. We're using spring time pastels this week and hope you will be inspired by the projects and the colors.

I have chosen to use the Hoppy Birthday stamp set for my sample.

Creative Nugget:  Stamped and colored the bunny from the Hoppy Birthday stamp set with Copic Markers.  Cut a frame for the bunny with Ovals and Scalloped Oval Dies and mounted it over the image.  This panel was layered over paper from the Pastels Paper Pack.  The Lacey Corners Die was used to cut three coordinating pastel papers from the same pack.  Two of these die cuts were cut down the middle and a slight bit was cut from the inside edge of each piece.  This made it possible to layer the pieces over the entire card front with the uncut panel on top. The sentiment was embossed on paper from the Pastels Paper Pack, cut with an Oval Die and mounted onto a Scalloped Oval. The Small Bow Die was used to cut a bow from coordinating papers to finish the card.  I can never have too many Birthday cards on hand and while seasonal cards are fun to do...birthday cards are needed all year long!

This card will also be submitted for the following challenges:

Friends Warm the Heart

Happy Friday, sweet friends!  I'm sharing a couple of cards on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog and here today using some of the products from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps February release.

Creative Nugget:   A background was created with Distress inks and the grid stamp from the Texture Tiles 1 stamp set.  The girls from the Girl Power 2 stamp set were colored with Copic Markers and cut out to add to the card.  The split sentiment and the tea cup are from a stamp set currently out of stock called Special Blend and the heart is from the Forever & Always stamp set.  I think you'll agree...nothing warms the heart like some special girl time!

Creative Nugget:  My second card uses the butterflies and sentiment from the Made New stamp set which happens to be the Stamp of the Month for the month of February and is free with a $75 purchase.  The background for this card was made using the Tissue Paper Bokeh Technique which can be found HERE.  The butterflies were stamped on a Distress Ink background from my stash, fussy cut and popped up onto the card.  Some Nuvo Drops were added to finish the card.

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by.  May your heart be warmed not only by spending time with some special friends, but by the love of the Lord and His promise of new life in Him!

Cathy

Looking Back at the Divinity Designs February 2019 Release

Good morning, friends...happy Friday!  Today we are taking another look at the Divinity Designs February 2019 Release.  I was able to use some of the new Divinity Designs products to get some cards finished for Easter.

My first sample use the new Glorious Easter stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  The Lattice Background Die was used to cut a panel to place over paper from the Spring Flowers Collection.  The tulips from the Glorious Easter stamp set were masked and stamped several times across the center panel and then colored with Copic Markers.  The center panel was stitched to the background and the bow and sentiment were added to finish the card.  Other dies used to create the layers include the Scalloped Rectangles, Scalloped Ovals, Ovals, and Bitty Butterflies.

Glorious Easter was used to create a similar center step card.

Creative Nugget:  The Center Step Card Die was use to make the base for my card and the Center Step Layers Dies were used to cut the layers from paper from the Spring Flowers Collection. The tulip stamp from the Glorious Easter stamp set was stamped, masked and stamped twice more across the center panel.  Copic Markers were used to color the tulips.  Two sentiments from the Miracle of Easter stamp set were embossed and one was cut with an Oval Die and layered onto Double Stitched Oval and Scalloped Oval die cuts. Paper from the Spring Flowers Collection was cut with a Bitty Butterfly Die.  The butterflies were added to the card along with several black pearls to finish the card.

The John 3:16 stamp was used as the focal image for my final card.

Creative Nugget:  Green and yellow inks were sponged on a panel which was then cut with the Lattice Background Die.  This was placed over paper from the Spring Flowers Collection and mounted to a Scalloped Rectangle to make the card front.  The John 3:16 verse was embossed on coordinating paper from the Spring Flowers Collection and mounted to a Scalloped Rectangle which was centered on the card front.  A cross cut from one of the dies included with the Cross Embossing Folder was added to the card along with foliage cut with dies from the Festive Favors Dies.

Two for Tuesday - Easter Greetings

Hello friends!  It's time for another Two for Tuesday feature over at the Divinity Designs Blog.  I decided to add to my Easter card stash by using the beautiful Easter Greetings stamp set by Divinity Designs.

Creative Nugget:  A Neenah Solar Crest panel was cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die and mounted to paper from the Plum Pizzazz Paper Pad.  The second layer of Whimsical Wildflowers Paper is also cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die.  The Hyacinth from the Easter Greetings stamp set was colored with Copic Markers and cut with one of the Lever Card Layers Dies.  The sentiment was embossed and cut with an Oval Die.  Organdy Ribbon and Metallic thread were used to to make a bow to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  Nuvo Mousse was sponged through the Mixed Media Arrows Stencil to add texture to the card front.  After the mousse was dry, the stencil was used to emboss the panel.  Another panel of paper from the Whimsical Wildflowers Collection was added to the stepped up version of the card.  Scalloped Rectangles and Scalloped Ovals were also added to some of the layers.  Two Easter cards ready to go!

Miracle of Easter

Hello friends!  Popping in to share a quick Easter card using some of the new products from Divinity Designs.

Creative Nugget:  Oxide Inks were smeared onto the Flourishes Stencil, spritzed with water and pressed onto a mixed media panel.  A heat tool was used to dry the ink.  Texture Paste was then applied through the stencil to the uninked surfaces.  After it dried, the panel was cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die and mounted to a Scalloped Rectangle.  The yellow panel at the bottom was cut with one of the Leafy Edged Border Dies and ribbon was dyed and tied around the card front.  The Lily from the Miracle of Easter stamp set was colored with Copic Markers, cut with an Oval Die and mounted to a Scalloped Oval and then to a Layered Lacey Oval to frame the flower.  The sentiment was white embossed on vellum and sandwiched between frames cut with Scalloped Rectangle and Rectangle Dies.  So now one of my much needed Easter cards is finished!

This card is being submitted to the following challenges:

Krafty Valentines

Hello friends and welcome to February!  Today I am sharing several cards over on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog made with one of the new stamp sets being released this month...Forever & Always.  The patterned hearts and sentiments  in this set are so much fun and perfect for crafting all year long!

Creative Nugget:  The solid heart from Forever & Always was used to add a pattern to my Scan 'N Cut.  The shape was then used to cut the three heart openings from a piece of Kraft card stock.  One of the texture stamps from Texture Tiles 3 and Frayed Burlap Distress ink were used to add texture to the card stock. The sentiment was white embossed at the bottom of the panel. The solid heart was stamped in a light shade through the heart openings and the patterned hearts were then stamped with a darker shade.  Twine was dyed to match each of the hearts so they could be hung from the top of the card.  Nuvo drops were added to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  Dotty papers from Tailored Expressions and dry embossed texture from Tim Holtz were used as a background for these dotty hearts from the Forever & Always stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  My third Krafty Valentine was actually made with the Filigree Hearts stamp set which was last month's Stamp of the Month but is now available for purchase at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.  White pigment ink was swiped over the raised embossed hearts on the Kraft card stock background. The Filigree Hearts were stamped and colored with Copic Markers. They were cut with the Scan 'N Cut and popped onto a Spellbinder's lacey oval die cut on which the sentiment was stamped.  The sentiment is available as a Valentine Sentiments Digital Stamp.

As you can see...I am more than ready for Valentine's Day!

Welcome to the Divinity Designs February 2019 Release

Hello, friends...Happy Friday!  It's time again for the new Divinity Designs Release.  The beautiful florals, scripture, stencils, dies and papers being released this month are perfect for creating springtime and Easter projects.

My first sample was made with the new John 3:16 Single Stamp.

Creative Nugget:  The John 3:16 verse was white embossed on vellum.  A frame was cut with the new Scalloped Rectangle Die and a Pierced Rectangle Die.  The verse was layered onto paper from the Spring Flowers Collection cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die and then to card stock cut with the largest Scalloped Rectangle Die.  The flowers, leaves and cross charm were cut with dies from the Festive Favors Die Set, shaped and attached to the corner of the card.  Prills were added to the centers of the flowers to finish the card.

My second sample was made with the new Glorious Easter stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  The Vintage Label Flip Card With Layers Dies were used to cut the card base and the layers from papers from the new Spring Flowers Collection 2019.  The belly band keeps the card closed and was cut with the Belly Band Dies.  The sentiment from the Glorious Easter set was stamped on a panel cut with one of the Vintage Label Dies and mounted to a frame cut with a Vintage Borders Die.

The Copic colored tulips can be seen when the belly band is removed.

Another sentiment was stamped on the flip side of the vintage label.

It is difficult to see on the photo but the layer cut from paper from the Spring Flowers Collection 2019 was embossed with the Flourishes Stencil for some added texture.

These new products from Divinity Designs were used to create the cards above...
