Two for Tuesday: Winter Chickadee

Hello friends!  I have a second post for today because it's time for another Two for Tuesday feature over at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog.  Since I was in the mood for Christmas in July...I chose to feature the Winter Chickadee stamp set for my two cards.

Creative Nugget:  A little distress watercolor was splattered on the background to give texture to the white space.  The chickadee from the Winter Chickadee stamp set was colored with Copic Markers and a sentiment from the set was heat embossed.  The card was embellished with a few Pine Branches and berries.  Other dies used from the ODBD Store include Pierced Rectangles, Pierced Circles, Circles, and Circle Ornaments.

Creative Nugget:  Papers from the Holly Jolly Paper Collection were added on the stepped up version and were cut with the new Quilted Background Die to create a Christmasy background for the little chickadee.

Rolling Along

Hello friends!  I hope your week has gotten off to a great start.  I'm sharing a couple of cards over at the SNSS Blog today using the new Go God's Way stamp set designed by Diane Noble for the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps July Release. This set is wonderful for Bible Journaling and card making.

Creative Nugget:  A scene was sponged using Distress Inks and the bicycle from Go God's Way was stamped and colored with Copic Markers.  Flowers from Itty Bitty Blossoms were added and the center of the scene was cut with a rectangles die, matted with black card stock and popped back into the scene.  Clouds, fence and a grass border were added to finish the card.  The sentiment is from the God is Bigger stamp set.

My second card features the camper and the car from the Go God's Way stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  The background scene was again created with Distress Inks and one of the textures from the Texture Tiles 3 set. The images from Go God's Way and Refresh My Soul were colored with Copic Markers, cut out and popped onto the card. The sentiment was made from the Scripty Thoughts Sets and the Mini Grunge Type Alpha.

Until next time...keep rolling along!  Thanks so much for stopping by...have a wonderful day!

My second sample was made with the Walk by Faith Stamp/Die Duo and the Quilted Window Die

Texturize It!

Hello friends!  Hope your week is off to a great start.  I love adding texture to cards!  Whether it's bricks, wood grain, pebbles, or tree bark, the new Texture Tiles 2 stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is a must have for creating that perfect texture.  These cards are being shared over on the SNSS Blog as well.

Creative Nugget:  The brick tile from Texture Tiles 2 was stamped on a Gelli Print scrap found in my scrap file to create the brick wall.  Check out how realistic it looks!  The flowers are from the Pretty Potted Florals stamp set and were Copic colored, cut out, and popped onto the wall.  A sentiment was added from the Scripty Thoughts stamp set along with some sequins to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  How about some tree bark?  Drag several shades of Distress Ink down the length of some card stock and stamp the wood grain tile with a darker shade.  A background was created with Distress Oxide inks and the pebbly tile from Texture Tiles 2.  The adorable birdie, clouds, and sentiment are all from the How Tweet stamp set.

That's Flamazing!

Hello friends!  Today I am sharing some flamazing cards using the new I'm a Flamingo stamp set over on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog and thought I'd share here as well.  The flamingo in this set is just too cute!

Creative Nugget:  The water on the background was white embossed using one of the stamps from the Texture Tiles 2 stamp set.  The scene was masked and sponged with Distress Inks.  The flamingo and leaves were colored with Copic Markers and the wing on the flamingo was paper pieced.

Creative Nugget:  The leaf from the Be a Flamingo stamp was white embossed repeatedly over a panel of watercolor paper and then watercolored.  Then the leaf was stamped over the panel with Archival Ink.  Three tags were die cut from this panel.  A masked off strip on the background...hard to see behind the tags...was stamped using one of the Texture Tiles 2 stamps.  The Copic colored flamingo and hibiscus were cut out and popped onto the tags to finish the card.

You Are SPEC-tacular

Hello friends!  Today I am sharing several cards over on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog using products from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps April and May release.  First up is a card using the popular Girl Power stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  The little glasses in the Girl Power set was the inspiration for this card.  After stamping and coloring the frames, Glossy Accents was added to the lenses for texture.  The speckled back ground was stamped with one of the Texture Tiles 1 stamps and white embossed.  Nuvo Embellishment Mousse was sponged over the embossing for a glorious shimmer. The cool Girl Power girl was colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut and popped onto the card.  Three stamp sets were used to create the sentiment, (Words of Life: Common Words 1, Skinny Caps Alpha, and Mini Grunge Type Alpha), which was divided into three parts.  How fun!

My next sample is a shaker card created with the adorable unicorn from the Be Unique stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  The "Wrinkle Free Distress Background" was created with the little diamond stamp included in the Be Unique stamp set and one of the stamps in the Texture Tiles 1 stamp set. The rainbow and unicorn were Copic colored, fussy cut and popped onto the front of the card.  Sparkly sequins were used to fill the shaker card.
