Krafty Valentines

Hello friends and welcome to February!  Today I am sharing several cards over on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog made with one of the new stamp sets being released this month...Forever & Always.  The patterned hearts and sentiments  in this set are so much fun and perfect for crafting all year long!

Creative Nugget:  The solid heart from Forever & Always was used to add a pattern to my Scan 'N Cut.  The shape was then used to cut the three heart openings from a piece of Kraft card stock.  One of the texture stamps from Texture Tiles 3 and Frayed Burlap Distress ink were used to add texture to the card stock. The sentiment was white embossed at the bottom of the panel. The solid heart was stamped in a light shade through the heart openings and the patterned hearts were then stamped with a darker shade.  Twine was dyed to match each of the hearts so they could be hung from the top of the card.  Nuvo drops were added to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  Dotty papers from Tailored Expressions and dry embossed texture from Tim Holtz were used as a background for these dotty hearts from the Forever & Always stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  My third Krafty Valentine was actually made with the Filigree Hearts stamp set which was last month's Stamp of the Month but is now available for purchase at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.  White pigment ink was swiped over the raised embossed hearts on the Kraft card stock background. The Filigree Hearts were stamped and colored with Copic Markers. They were cut with the Scan 'N Cut and popped onto a Spellbinder's lacey oval die cut on which the sentiment was stamped.  The sentiment is available as a Valentine Sentiments Digital Stamp.

As you can see...I am more than ready for Valentine's Day!

Love is in the Air

Hello friend!  It's February and love is in the air with one of my favorite love stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

Creative Nugget:  Clouds were sponged on the background with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  The images from the Love Birds stamp set were colored with some of my favorite colors of copic markers and cut with the coordinating Love Birds Dies.  A few hearts were die cut, colored and covered with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents, and suspended from the branches with metallic thread.  The sentiment is from the Stand Tall stamp set.  The sketch at Splitcoaststampers was used for the design.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Mod Squad Challenge - Valentine - Love
Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge 135 - All You Need is Love
Tuesday Throwdown #377 - Favorite Color

Looking Back at the ODBD February Release

Hello friends!  Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Today we are taking another look at the Our Daily Bread Designs February 2017 Release!  Get ready for lots of LOVEly inspiration!

I used several of the new dies to make a card that would be perfect for Valentine's Day, a wedding, or even an anniversary.

Creative Nugget:  The design for my card came from this week's Mojo Monday Sketch. Many of the panels were cut from papers from the Blushing Rose Collection using the Pierced Rectangle Dies, the Pierced Squares Dies, and the Layering Hearts Dies.  The vertical border strip and the pretty heart overlay was cut using the Heavenly Hearts Dies.  Other dies used were the Love Script Die and the Clouds and Raindrops Die.  Some stitching, ribbon, and pearls were used to finish the card.  Very unusual for me, but there is no stamping on this one!

Here are the fabulous new products by
Our Daily Bread Designs that were used
to make this card...
…and some old favorites previously released:

Be My Valentine

Hello friends!  With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, I took the Splitcoaststampers Sketch and some of the new products from the Our Daily Bread Designs February Release to create a card for the occasion.

Creative Nugget:  A panel cut from some Boho Bolds paper with the Glorious Gable Box Die and Heavenly Hearts Insert Die serves as a box overflowing with love.  One of the Layering Hearts Dies and the little Clouds and Raindrops heart dies were cut from Beautiful Boho papers to create the hearts spilling out of the box. The Small Bow Die and the Pennant Flags Die were used to make the banner at the bottom of the card.  Finally the Hugs & Kisses sentiment was stamped on a slightly watercolored heart to finish the card.
This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge 631
Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #228 - Holiday
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #181 - Love, Love, Love

Stand Tall

Hello, friends!  Happy Friday and happy release day at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!  Five new stamp sets have been added to the SNSS Store and I had fun creating a couple of cute cards with two of them.

Creative Nugget:  With thirteen different sentiments and this adorable giraffe, the Stand Tall stamp set is so versatile and can be used for many different occasions throughout the year.  All of the images were colored with Copic Markers and the card design came from the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge this week.
As the Deer was designed by a new designer at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Jennifer Rydin, for our Creative Worship line and is great for Bible Journaling, but I chose to use the enchanting images in the set to make a card.

Creative Nugget:  A portion of the front panel was cut away so the circle could hang off the edge following the sketch at Splitcoaststampers this week.  Copic Markers were used again for the coloring and several of the images were fussy cut and popped onto the scene.

Here are the new stamp sets used which are available for pre-order today at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps:

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

Be sure to check out all of the new stamp sets at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

Look Who's B-a-a-a-ack!

Hello dear friends!  Just had to take a break from creating Christmas cards…(yes, I am still finishing up some last minute cards), to use a new, OLD friend from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  Cocoa is back and is featured in a new stamp set being released tomorrow.  Cocoa Sends Love includes tons of mix and match sentiments perfect for any occasion all through the year.  (Shhhhh!  Even though this set is being released tomorrow, you will find that it is already available at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store!)

Creative Nugget:  The Cocoa image was colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut, and popped in the oval frame with part of the image out-of-the-frame.  The little heart image was repeatedly white embossed on the right side of the card, and the sentiment was split onto the two different panels.  A few Nuvo Crystal Drops were added to finish the card.  The Splitcoaststampers sketch from yesterday was used for the design.  This card could be sent for any occasion, but I will be using it to send to my Valentine!

Be sure to check out the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Face Book page to see more samples using this darling stamp set.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Alphabet Challenge - U for Use Something Red
Addicted To Stamps and More Challenge #224 - CAS

Some Bunny Loves You

Hello friends!  With Valentine's Day right around the corner I couldn't resist all the lovely challenges out there to inspire a card for my hubby.

Creative Nugget:  Pink and red Kuretake watercolors were splattered and dripped onto a piece of watercolor paper to create the background.  Three strips of washi tape were added and a heart cut using a Spellbinders Heart Nestie.  The adorable bunny was inspired by the Ways To Use It challenge on Splitcoaststampers to use something that skips, hops, jumps or LEAPS and is from the Valentine Critters stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  The bunny was colored with Copic Markers and cut with the matching Valentine Critters Die.  The design of the card was inspired by the (CAS)E This Sketch Challenge which I will be getting in just under the wire!

The colors were inspired by The Card Concept challenge for this week.  I used the clean and layered style for my card.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use It - WT570
(CAS)E This Sketch - CTS #158
The Card Concept #48 - Sweet Hearts
Aud Sentiments #148 - Use a Love Sentiment
Through the Craft Room Door (Feb 9-15) - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for visiting...hope you were inspired!

Sending Sweet Love

Hello dear friends!  It's been a long time since Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has released a new Digi, but today, 21 new digi stamps have been added to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store…and are they ever fun to work with and soooo adorable!  I am thrilled that one of the new images is Cocoa!  That's right...a new Cocoa Digi just in time to send love to a special someone, not only on Valentine's Day but all throughout the year.

Creative Nugget:  The Cocoa image was printed on Neenah Solar Crest card stock and colored with Copic markers.  Some hearts were embossed on the frame and the little red hearts sprinkled on the card are from the Hearts Scallop Border Die.  The sentiment was cut with a Mini Tags Die and tied onto the card with a bit of metallic thread and some gingham.

Who doesn't LOVE candy?  These candy images are sure to brighten up your day, bring a smile to your face, and give you a craving for a sweet treat!

Creative Nugget:  The advantage of digi images is that they can be sized and moved however you want.  These sweet pieces of candy were sized and moved to cascade down the card front, colored with Copic Markers, and given some sparkle with a Wink of Stella marker.  Some of the pieces were popped up for a bit of dimension and a sentiment was stitched on to finish the card.  Now isn't that SWEET?

To see all of the new images, just pop on over to the "see what's new" section of the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.  For more samples made with some of the other new Digis being released, hop on over to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog.

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps Challenge #176 - Anything Goes
Alphabet Challenge - W for Window
Pile It On #99 - Your First Initial ("C" for candy)

Thanks so much for joining me…hope your day is as sweet as candy!

Puppy Love

Hello friends!  I have just a quick card to share with you today which came together quickly as a result of combining two challenges.  On Friday, Jeanne, on Splitcoaststampers asked us to take a break from Christmas and make a holiday card…but not a Christmas one.  Right away I thought of Valentine's Day so out came Valentine Critters, the Sweet Perks Club Bundle on sale right now by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  Then I saw the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, and got the idea to turn it into a shaker card.

Creative Nugget:  A few splatters from Grunge Elements and acrylic paint made a super quick and easy background for this card.  A heart embossed panel and seed beads were used for the inside of the shaker.  The adorable pup from Valentine Critters was colored with Copic Markers and popped onto the acetate.  Finally, the sentiment was make and stamped in one line rather than two to fit the hand cut banner.  I paws-itively love how this card turned out and hope you do, too!

The following stamp sets from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store were used:

This card is entered in the following challenges:

FMS #165
Splitcoaststampers - F4A Holiday Twist

Thanks for stopping by…have a wonderfully blessed day!

My first sample uses the Clean Heart stamp set, the Ornate Hearts Dies, and the Beautiful Borders Dies

Creative Nugget:  The Clean Heart was white embossed on Kraft card stock and some of the little flowers were colored in with Gelatos and rubbed in with a baby wipe for just a touch of color. This was mounted on the largest of the Ornate Heart Dies.  One of the Beautiful Borders was added behind the heart and both were mounted on a piece of designer paper which was stitched to Cherry Cobbler card stock and a coordinating piece of designer paper on an angle.  Another layer of Cherry Cobbler was added and the whole card front was mounted to a Soft Stone card base. A double bow, a little Ornate Heart stamped with one of the sentiments from the Clean Heart stamp set, and a pearl finish the card.

My second sample uses a different sentiment from the Clean Heart  stamp set along with the Ornate Hearts Dies, the Beautiful Borders Dies, and some of the beautiful new Heart and Soul Paper Collection.

Creative Nugget: The Heart and Soul Designer Paper and the Ornate Hearts Dies are the main feature on this card as the only stamping is the sentiment.  The papers and dies are layered onto Basic Gray card stock and a Solar Crest card front.  A bow, silver cord, and silver pearls finish the card.

In case you missed it, here is another card already posted on my blog…click HERE for the details.

Valentine Critters

Thanks so much for coming back to join us for more of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps January Feature Hops!

Welcome to Day 3

Today's feature is:
You will love all of the adorable critters included in this fun Valentine stamp set!

•Clear stamp set includes 6 images and 10 sentiments
•Set measures approximately 6" x 8"
•Bunny image measures approximately 2.25" x 2.5"
•Elephant image measures approximately 2.75" x 2.25"
•Designed by Diane Zechman
•Stamp set - $26

I had so much fun with this set, I have two projects to share with you!

Creative Nugget:  By now you probably recognize that background…it's the Leafy Flourish Background stamped with Versafine Crimson Red ink on Solar Crest card stock.  The two panels across the top used the flourish border included in the set. They were attached by stitching them only at the sides so the magnetic bookmark could be slipped onto the card.

The bookmark was created with the Bookmark Die cut on a folded piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock so that edge of the die extended above the fold line.  A layer of Solar Crest card stock was added to the top layer of the bookmark on which the sentiment was stamped.  A Spellbinders Scalloped Heart was attached at the bottom, and the adorable puppy was colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut, and attached to the heart.  The hearts are from the Elephant's balloons and were colored, fussy cut, and covered with Glossy Accents.  Positive and negative magnets were glued to the inside of the bookmark at the bottom to help keep the bookmark on the right page of your book.

When I saw THIS tutorial on Splitcoaststampers, I knew that the new Valentine Critters stamp set would be perfect for creating this fun pop-up box!

Creative Nugget:  The panels of the box are layered with Graphic 45 designer papers and True Black card stock.  The bunny was colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut, and popped onto the box. His little heart was paper pieced.  The sentiment was stamped on a hand cut banner.  The ribbon holds the box together, so when you untie the ribbon….

the flaps fold down and out pops the cutest little teddy bear along with several layered hearts...some spellbinders and some Heart Dies by SNSS.  Two of the hearts are on strips of acetate so they wiggle!  LOL!

Check out some of the fabulous samples made by our talented DT starting on our SNSS Blog.
