Hello, sweet friends!  Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps March 2015 Release Day Blog Hop & Challenge! The days are getting longer, the weather is changing, and Spring is on the way!  Who doesn't love watching for the first signs of Spring after a cold and snowy winter?  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps will help set the stage for Spring with three new Mini Flower Block stamp sets... AND for you animal lovers out there…two new stamp sets featuring our favorite canines and felines!  So get prepared to be inspired by the projects created for you by the talented Design Divas!

Release Giveaway!
What would a release be without a giveaway, right?  Well, here are the details of this month's release prize. One random commenter from one of the DT blogs will be selected to win a $10 Gift Code to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  You have until Thursday, March 19th at midnight EST to leave your comments.  The winner will be posted on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog on Friday, March 20th!

Here are several samples made with some of the new products being released this month:

Creative nugget:  The new Mini Flower Blocks stamp sets feature twelve beautiful flowers and three of the springtime flowers from the Mini Flower Blocks 1 and Mini Flower Blocks 3 stamp sets were chosen for my card.  Each flower was colored with Copic Markers, cut with a Spellbinders Square Nestie, and matted with Smokey Shadow card stock.   A few Grunge Elements were stamped on the background which was then embossed with chevron stripes for a little texture.  The sentiment is from the Winter with Winnie stamp set and was stamped and cut with one of the Banner Dies.  The Arrow Dies were used to make arrows which were added along with some yellow seam binding to finish the card.

If you know me at all, you know that I just love the new Puppy Love Stamp set.  You probably thought I would use the Golden, but this plaid DP just screamed Scotty!

Creative Nugget:  Lots of layers stitched together to make the background.  The Scotty was stamped twice…one was fussy cut and popped up for dimension.  One of the little hearts in the set was used to make a collar.  The little scalloped border was made with the Bookmarks & More Die Set.  Truer words were never spoken!!  LOL!

Finally, one more card made with the popular Treasured stamp set that now has a new matching Treasured Die!

Creative Nugget:  Distress inks were used to watercolor a background and texture was added with modeling paste through a stencil.  The butterfly image was colored with Copic Markers.  A sentiment from the Treasured stamp set was stamped on a Banner die cut, and the other sentiment from Everyday Miracles was stitched to the vertical panel and the corners rounded.  A few pearl flourishes and a bit of Baker's Twine finish the card.

Here are the new stamp sets that were used to make these samples:

Just a Note

Hello friends!  What a busy week this has been..I'm so glad it's Saturday and time for another fabulous sketch from The Sweet Stop!  I enjoyed working with this one and I'm sure you will, too...so let's get started!

Creative Nugget:  I just love this flower and butterfly image from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  It's from a clear stamp set called, "Treasured."   The "Vintage Postcard" elements were stamped on a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock in Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.  The butterfly image was stamped in Tuxedo Black, then stamped again on a scrap piece of card stock. Both images were colored with copic markers, and the image on the scrap paper was cut out. The main panel was then cut with a circle nestie and sponged around the edges while still in the die.  The Echo Park panel pieces were layered onto Close to Cocoa card stock and adhered to a Vintage Cream card base.  A piece of lace was used for the second strip in the layout design and the Eyelet Border Die was cut from a coordinating piece of patterned paper.  Some ribbon was woven through the die cut and a button tied on.  The little tag was made from the Tiny Tags stamp set and matching die by Papertrey Ink.  The second butterfly image was then popped on top and the leaves curled slightly with a scissors.

I'm taking a copic class at the Color Me Creative Classroom to improve my copic skills, and my homework was to practice coloring with reds...so this card and the Christmas version will be submitted for my homework assignment!

I hope you'll play along with us this week at The Sweet Stop!  Don't forget to check out the wonderful samples by the amazing Sugar Baby Team!

Treasured!

Hello friends!  Hope you've had a good week...mine's been a very busy one.  Here it is Saturday again and the last Saturday of March...where has this month gone?  It's time for another chance to play along with The Sweet Stop sketch!  I just had to use one of the new images being released this week at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps...it fit the sketch perfectly! Please note the information for the release hop and party on my side bar.  There are six wonderful new sets and some dies being released, so you won't want to miss out on all the fun!

Creative Nugget:  Here is a Sweet Peek of a new clear stamp set being released this Thursday at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called, "Treasured."  I LOVED coloring this image.  I did a Google search for monarch butterfly images and found a picture that was almost exactly like the stamp, grabbed my copics, and began to color away.  Since this image screams to be showcased, most of the other elements of the sketch were kept white to let the flower and butterfly pop!  Doilies seemed the perfect solution for the circle panels...some dark red patterned paper was used to back the doily to let some of the red color peek through.  The doilies and all the layers were sponged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  A photo corner punch was used to create the sentiment tag.  Some piercing and a few buttons with pearl accents finished the card!

I didn't get a chance to make a Christmas version this week as I'm busy creating Easter cards.  Hopefully, I'll have another one next week!

Don't forget to stop by the blogs of the other Sugar Babies to see more fabulous inspiration.
