and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Trust God

Hello dear friends…hope you are having a good week! Nothing says Spring more than flowers blooming, so I have a few cards to share that were done for some card challenges and to usher in more spring-like weather..

Creative Nugget: This was SC587 done for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  The Blushing Rose papers by ODBD are just beautiful and made layering them so easy.  The sentiment is from the Life is a Gift stamp set.  The following dies were used to cut the layers: Rectangles, Lavish Layers, Pennants, and Pretty Posies.  Silk ribbon and Prills were added to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  How comforting is this scripture verse from the Grace's Strength stamp set.  This card was made for Lisa's Shabby Chic Challenge today on Splitcoaststampers and for the Fusion Card Challenge.  The butterfly is from the Trois Jolis Papillons stamp set and cut with the matching Tres Papillons Die. Other ODBD custom dies used are Filigree Frames, Pretty Posies, Bitty Blossoms, and the Flourished Star Pattern Die.  A bit of modeling paste applied through a stencil was added across the card as well as silk ribbon and some Prills in the middle of the flowers.

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:
Fusion Card Challenge - Orchid Occasions

Word Art Wednesday #224-#225 - Anything Goes
Chocolate, Coffee, and Cards #106 - Spring is in the Air
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge - April 2016

Life is a Gift

Hello friends!  Life truly is a gift and I thank the Lord for every day that He gives me to live it and for every undeserved blessing He bestows!  My card today is for Linda's Monochromatic Challenge on Splitcoaststampers and uses the MOJO Monday Sketch for this week and two new stamp sets released this month by Our Daily Bread Designs.

Creative Nugget:  The card front was made by stamping the Wildflower Silhouette Background with Hello Honey ink, cutting the panel with the large frame die in the Flourished Star Pattern Die Set, and matting it with Smokey Shadow card stock.  Vellum was embossed with the Faithful Fish Pattern Die and stitched across the middle of the card front.  The main panel was stamped with the Life is a Gift image in Crushed Curry ink then offset and stamped again in Daffodil Delight.  The wheat was brushed with clear Wink of Stella and white gel pen dots were added to the Queen Anne's Lace.  This panel was also embossed with the Faithful Fish Pattern Die.  The Smokey Shadow banner was stitched on the side.  The sentiment was white embossed on vellum, punched with a circle punch and framed with Daffodil Delight card stock.  Some dyed ribbon was added to finish the card.

Taking a Look Back at the ODBD February 2015 Release

Welcome, my friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs February 2015 Release.  Get ready to view some gorgeous wildflower scenes made with the stamps and word dies released this month.

My sample used the new Life is a Gift stamp set:

Creative Nugget:  I've had this container of mixed gold leaf flakes in my craft drawer for ages and since I've been seeing a lot of cards lately with foiled papers decided to give them a try for my card.  The Life is a Gift wildflower image was inked with VersaMark ink and embossed with Heat 'n Stick Powder.  The gold leaf flakes were pressed onto the sticky image and burnished with a bone folder on the back of the card.  A stiff brush was used to brush off the extra foil leaving a colorful foiled image.  The frame was made with the Vintage Flourished Pattern Die and the Vintage Labels Die.  1/8" Scor-Tape was put around the outside edge of the frame and more gold leaf flakes were applied.  The same was done around the edge of the Pennant die cut after stamping the sentiment also from the Life is a Gift stamp set.  The heart charm made with the Mini Tags Die was also foiled.  Paper from the Winter Collection 2014 was used on the card base and metallic threads were used to make a bow to finish the card.

Here is another card made for several challenges on Splitcoaststampers earlier this week using the
Happy Birthday Dies:

Creative Nugget:  Strips of colorful DP and Smokey Shadow card stock were glued on an angle to a piece of copy weight paper which was then cut on an angle.  The birthday word die had to be cut in two steps since the layers were too thick so the bottom part of the die was cut from the strips first, then the top part was cut from the Neenah Solar Crest paper, saving the little pieces so they could be glued back into place after the card was put together. The balloon die was also used to cut two balloons from the same white card stock as the top part of the birthday die.  DP was glued under the negative space before attaching everything to a Smokey Shadow mat.  One of the balloon die cuts was sponged and popped up on top, the strings cut, and the little metallic bows attached.  The little "Happy" sentiment is from the Life is a Gift stamp set.  A clear Wink of Stella pen was used on the Smokey Shadow strips to add a little sparkle to the card.

Wildflowers to Bless You

Hello everyone!  It's Wednesday and time for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  I'm hosting today so I hope you can come play along.  Our Daily Bread Designs new Wildflower Silhouette Background was used for my sample.

Creative Nugget:  The Blooming Garden Paper Collection was used to make the panels for the sketch design and were matted and stitched to Golden Harvest and Wasabi Green card stock. The Wildflower Silhouette Background was stamped directly on the designer paper.  The Asters and Leaves Dies were used to make the flower and some Fancy Foliage was added for interest. Two of the Beautiful Borders die cuts were attached side by side with seam binding and a bow tied down the middle.  The sentiment from the new Life is a Gift stamp set was stamped on a Mini Tag die cut and attached to finish the card.

Here is the sketch that was used for the card design:

ODBD February 2015 Release

Hello friends!  Everything's coming up wildflowers with the new February 2015 Release by Our Daily Bread Designs.  Wait until you see the gorgeous scenes created by the fabulous Design Team with the matching outline and silhouette images in this month's release. AND…Squeeeee…two new word dies!

Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until February 2, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments on the Designers' Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on February 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

Here is my first project made with some of the new products:
Creative Nugget:  Distress refill inks were used to create a sunset background for the new Wildflower Silhouette Background which was stamped over the dried watercolors with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  A white paint pen was used to add highlights to some of the wildflowers.  Another panel was made on Solar Crest card stock using the Faithful Fish Pattern Die released last month. The middle section was removed and the other two sections matted in black were popped up with foam tape allowing the wildflowers to be seen in the middle.  The Happy Birthday word die was cut once out of paper from the Blooming Garden Paper Collection and three times from black card stock.  The die cuts were glued together for dimension and mounted across the center section of the card. The same was done with the ballon dies which are included in the Happy Birthday Die Set.  The balloon was colored with Wink of Stella for some sparkle and covered with a layer of Glossy Accents.  A Metallic thread bow was added to finish the card.

My second sample was made with both the Wildflower Silhouette Background and the coordinating images from the Life is a Gift stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  Each section of the center step card base was layered with Neenah Solar Crest card stock and paper from the Blooming Garden Paper Collection.  The Wildflower Silhouette Background was white embossed on the two side panels directly onto the patterned paper.  Copic Markers were used to color the wildflowers from Life is a Gift and then the Vintage Labels Die was used to cut the panel.  The same die was used to cut a blue mat which was cut down the middle and separated a little to create a frame for the main image.  The Gilded Gate die cut was embossed and lightly sponged with distress ink and mounted to the front of the card.  The sentiment from Life is a Gift was stamped on a Mini Tag die cut and tied to the gate to finish the card.
