And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

ODBD Throwback Thursday - Grill Master

Hello friends!  It's Throwback Thursday over at Our Daily Bread Designs and the features for today are the Grill Master stamp set and the coordinating Grill Die.  Who doesn't love a good cookout and the products today are perfect for Father's Day or for the men in your life who claim to be the "Grill Master!"

Creative Nugget:  Picnics and gingham just seem to go together so the Gingham Background was used to create the layers on this card which was cut with the Center Step Card Die and the Center Step Layers Dies.  The grill is the focus on the center panel and was colored with Copic markers.  Paper from the Blooming Garden Collection was cut with the Grass Hill Die to form the backyard scene and the Fence die cut was added.  Of course the "Grill Master" needs the proper tools which were cut with the Barbecue Tools Dies.  The sentiment was stamped on a Pennant Flag die cut and enamel dots were added to finish the card.

To see more samples using the Grill Master stamp set and Grill Die head on over to the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog.

A Look Back at ODBD August Release

Hello sweet friends!  Today we are taking a look back at
Our Daily Bread Designs August Release.
There are so many garden goodies to choose from this month, so I chose images from two of the new stamp sets for my sample...Strawberries and Garden Mini.
Creative Nugget:  The recipe card was cut using the Recipe and Tags Dies, a Spellbinders Marvelous Square frame was cut from the top and from a piece of Real Red card stock, and the Gingham Background was white embossed on the card.  The Strawberries were stamped on a Square Nestie and colored with Copic Markers and a Signo White Gel Pen was used to highlight the seeds on the berries.  The sentiment was stamped on half of a doily and attached under the strawberry frame.  The recipe card was matted with Smokey Shadow and attached to a My Mind'e Eye panel which was stitched to Smokey Shadow and mounted to a Solar Crest card base.  Butter Cream Baker's Twine was tied around the recipe card and a bow attached.  Some strawberries from the Garden Mini set were colored and fussy cut and added to the card along with some Fancy Foliage.  A few pearls colored to match the strawberries were added in the corner to finish the card!

Here are the materials used that are available at the
Our Daily Bread Designs Store:

Welcome to a new Shining the Light Challenge!  If you love encouraging others with the cards you make, this week's challenge is just for you!
This week's challenge is:
Use a Prayer, Blessing, or Encouraging Scripture

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a PRIZE, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs Store!!  Entries for the prize must be submitted by Sunday, June 9 at 8 p.m. EST.  One random winner will be chosen and announced next challenge.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments, we would love to see them if you have them.  As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing three or more of our participants for the Shining the Light Award.  In order to qualify for this award, you must use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, June 9th at 8 p.m. EST.  If you upload your creation to Splitcoaststampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword ODBDSLC152.  When creating your posts on blogs, please include a link to the challenge.  Thanks you!  We love seeing your creations!

Here's my card for ODBD145:

Creative Nugget:  I just love this praying darling from the Precious Girl stamp set just released by Our Daily Bread Designs.  The Gingham background was stamped on a panel, stitched to Pretty in Pink card stock, and mounted to a Solar Crest card base.  The praying girl image was stamped three times, twice on Solar Crest and once on a scrap stamped with the Gingham Background.  The first image was cut out-of-the-box with a Classic Circle Nestie. The second image was colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut, and mounted on the first one.  On the third image, only the dress was fussy cut and mounted on the second one...lots of dimension here. The little prayer from the Children's Prayers stamp set was stamped and cut with a Labels Four Die and mounted to a Gold Lables Four Die in Pretty in Pink.  A couple Cheery Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourishes, mulberry flowers, and a silk bow finish the card.

Several supplies used to make this card are available at the Our Daily Bread Designs Store!

ODBD June Release Blog Hop

Hello again, sweet friends!  Since this is my second post today, if you are looking for The Sweet Stop sketch, click HERE!

Welcome to another fabulous release by Our Daily Bread Designs!  The release this month covers two themes just perfect for June.  Two of the stamp sets and two single stamps cover American Patriotism, perfect for cards with a masculine, patriotic holidays, or military service theme, and cards for organizations such as Operation Write Home.  The other sets being released are children's sets that you are sure to fall in love with.  Now...on to the HOP!

If you got here from Sandee's amazing blog, you are in the right place!  If not, you might want to return to the ODBD Blog and start from there so you don't miss a thing!

Briefly, here are the details of the hop:

  • Hop will run from 8:00am on June 1st until June 2nd at 8:00pm EDT.
  • Winners will be announced June 3rd
  • There will be four PRIZES of $15, $20, $30, and $40 gift certificates for STAMPS in the ODBD Store.  These must be redeemed within the month of June**
  • To qualify to win, all you have to do is hop to each of the designers, leave a comment, and return to the ODBD Blog to tell us you completed the hop, and let us know of any difficulties along the way.
Now...on to my projects!  Since I've recently become a new Great Aunt, the stamp set I chose to make samples for is the Precious Girl stamp set....LOVE this one!!

This darling gift set will be for my new little grand niece, Baylee!

Creative Nugget:  The card front was made by stitching an embossed panel and some of my favorite Graphic 45 baby papers to Groovy Guava card stock and a Vintage Cream card base.  A piece of lace separates these two sections.  The precious girl image was stamped on a piece of Vintage Cream card stock, cut with a Spellbinders Gold Label 4 die, and mounted to a Groovy Guava Label Four die.  The precious girl image was stamped again on Solar Crest card stock, and again on some Graphic 45 DP.  The first image was colored with Copic Markers and popped on top of the Vintage Cream panel.  Just the dress was highlighted with some Copics, cut out of the DP, and popped on top of the second layer.  This made three layers in all, creating depth on the main image.  The sentiment, also from the Precious Girl set, was stamped on a Spellbinder Basic Tag die.  The tag was tied onto the lace with some button twine.  A mulberry flower, some leafy sprigs, a charm, and pearls finish the card.

The baby pram was made with some matching Graphic 45 papers following a pattern from the Great Gifts CD by Technique Junkie Newsletter.  The sentiment was stamped on a Spellbinders Tag and tied to the pram with seam binding and button twine.  Some lace and a decorative pearl were used to dress up the pram.

Neutral colors were used to create my second sample.

Creative Nugget:  The little Bless this Child sentiment from the Precious Girl stamp set was stamped before using the Quatrefoil Pattern Die to emboss the pattern on a piece of Vintage Cream card stock. Frayed Burlap Distress Ink was used to stamp the Gingham Background stamp on Vintage Cream card stock.  This was cut into two narrow strips and adhered to the embossed panel.  The panel was then stitched to Fine Linen card stock and mounted to a Vintage Cream card base.  The precious girl was stamped on Solar Crest card stock, cropped with a Square Nestie, and mounted to Fine Linen after being colored with Copics.  The girl image was stamped again on a left over piece of the gingham stamped card stock.  The dress highlighted with Copics, cut out, and mounted on the square panel.  The scripture panel was also cut with a Square Nestie and sponge with Frayed Burlap ink.  A Seam binding bow and several little pearls finish the card.

Here is the Precious Girl stamp set, and other materials used to make these projects, available from the Our Daily Bread Designs Store:

From here, you will hop to the super talented and very creative Dawn

Enjoy the rest of the hop!  Have a fabulous day!

Hugs,
Cathymac
