And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

A SNSS Birthday Bonanza!

Hello friends…back again today with another card to share! Guess who's turning 8?  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps will be celebrating their 8th birthday ALL month long with special activities and prizes each and every day!  The Design Divas will be featuring some of our favorite stamp sets every day on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog and today's Throwback Feature is one of the most adorable Christmas stamp sets…Born This Day!

Creative Nugget:  The background for this card was created by stamping the new Winter Blessings Background with dark blue ink on a matching dark blue piece of card stock.  The stamp was shifted slightly and stamped again with white pigment ink.  The snow bank was made with the Hillside Edges Die and a Circle Nestie was used to make a bright moon.  The manger scene from the Born This Day stamp set was colored with Copic Markers and cut using the matching Manger Dies.  A rhinestone was stuck to the middle of the star, a white gel pen used to add accents to the snowy sky, and a silvery ribbon was added to finish the card.

Here are the products from the SNSS Store included on this card:

Both of my samples were made with several of the new products being released this month!
Creative Nugget:  The Snowflake Border Background was white embossed on white card stock and sponged with several pink shades of distress inks before cutting a panel with the large rectangle from the Flourished Star Pattern die set.  The borders on the Born This Day stamp were masked to fit the verse on a strip of Kraft card stock which was matted in pink and stitched to the snowflake background.  Pieces of white and pink card stocks were cut with a Leafy Edged Border Die and mounted to the bottom of the card.  The card front was matted in pink and mounted to a white card base.  A small pink bow made with the Small Bow Dies were added and the card embellished with poinsettias made with both the Peaceful Poinsettia and Merry Mosaics dies along with some foliage from the Lovely Leaves Dies.  A little corner was cut using an Ornate Borders and Flower Die.  Pearls and a bit of Stickles were added to finish the card.

This photo shows the sparkle a little better:
Creative Nugget:  I have recently taken a Gelli Print class at a local stamp store and the background on this card was made using several layers of acrylic paints and stencils on a Gelli Plate during that class.  The colors and swirls reminded me of a snowstorm, so I white embossed the Snowflake Border Background on it and cut the panel using the Flourished Star Pattern Die.  The Merry Christmas Dies were used to cut the sentiment from the middle of the panel and all the little pieces saved to piece back into the negative die space after adhering the panel to a piece of turquoise card stock.  The dies were cut five times from white card stock and stacked on top of each other with the top layer being embossed with Clear Sparkle embossing powder.   A strip of pink card stock was added for contrast along with a matching bow made with the Small Bow Dies.  The bow was embellished with sparkly foliage cut with the Lovely Leaves Dies.   Some Sparkling Snowflakes were white embossed on the Gelli Plate paper and cut with the matching Snowflake Dies.  These were randomly added along with some rhinestones to finish the card.

Remember This!

Hello friends!  Today on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog, the What's Up? stamp set and coordinating Arrow Dies are being featured.  The arrows and the sentiments in the stamp set are perfect for making a point or drawing attention to an element on the card.  I thought it would be important in this busy season to take time to remember what the hustle and bustle is really all about.

Creative Nugget: I wanted to use the colors from the Color Challenge on Splitcoaststampers for today and this little manger scene from the Born this Day stamp set was perfect.  The image was colored with Copic Markers and framed with a panel impressed with a wood grain texture.  The Tim Holtz Faded Dots stencil was used to sponge some Pool Party and Crumb Cake ink on a half panel.  A few splatters of Chocolate Chip and some of the arrow images from the What's Up? stamp set were stamped onto this panel.  The popped up arrows were cut with the matching Arrow Dies and point to the scene which reminds us that the birth of Jesus is what we are celebrating at Christmas time!
The Mojo Monday sketch for this week was used for the design of the card.

Here are the supplies from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store that were used to make this card:

Born This Day

Hello friends!  Welcome to Day 4 of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Feature Blog Hops for the month of September!  I hope you've enjoyed the hops thus far.  Today we have a precious Christmas stamp set celebrating the birth of Jesus. The thirteen sentiments and scripture verses included in this set convey the real reason for the season.  Creating with this set is made even better with the coordinating die set!
Today's feature is:

  • Stamp set includes 2 images and 13 sentiments and scripture verses
  • Set measures approximately 4" x 6"
  • The manger image measures approximately 2 1/4" x 2 1/2"
  • Designed by Korin Sutherland
  • Stamp set - $15
  • Die set - $8.25
  • Bundle ($23.25 value) - $21

Here is my sample using Born This Day:
Creative Nugget:  Vintage Cream card stock was used for all the layers on the card front.  Each layer was outlined with a gold
Uni-ball pen...wouldn't you know, my gold leaf pen had dried out. The Canvas Impression Plate gave texture to the first layer.  A scalloped border, some gold pearls, and stitching was added to the vertical panel.  The frame was cut with SB Classic Square and A2 Matting Basics B dies.  The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink, and the adorable manger scene was colored with Copic Markers.  The gold pen was used to color in the star, and white fun flock gives the little lamb some wooly texture.

Check out some fabulous samples made by our talented DT in the thumbnails below.

Be sure to leave a comment on each of the blogs along your journey because we're giving away (6) $15 store credits (1 winner will be chosen from each of the 6 blog hops).  The deadline to comment for a chance to win is Friday, September 13th at midnight EST.  The list of winners will be announced on our website homepage by Monday, September 16th.

Thanks so much for joining us!  Enjoy the hop!
