And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

A CASE of Angela

Hello friends…it's a snowy day here in the northeast which gave me a chance to stay in and do some stamping.  I have two quick cards to share…both challenges on Splitcoaststampers and both made with stamps and dies from the Our Daily Bread Designs January release.

Creative Nugget:  Today's Inspiration Challenge was to use something from Angela Maine's Blog, From the Tool Shed, to inspire us…not hard to do since I love everything Angela creates.  I chose her Give Thanks card for the design and the popped up elements.  The Piano Background was used for the bottom of the card.  After stamping the piano keys, the Flourished Star Pattern Die was used to cut the panel which puts small pierced dots around the border.  A Spellbinders Border Die was used to make the scalloped edge on the top part of the card.  The treble clef note from the Just a Note stamp set was stamped and colored with Copic Markers...the panel cut again with the Flourished Star Pattern Die and debossed with the Faithful Fish Pattern Die.  The note was stamped and colored again, fussy cut and popped onto the first one.
The sentiment is from the Mini Tag Sentiments stamp set and the tags were cut with the Mini Tags Dies.

Creative Nugget:  The Triple Stamping Technique was used to make the second card.  The Piano Background was stamped and embossed and three rectangles using the Spellbinders Matting Basics Dies were cut from the panel.  The three rectangles were matted with black and pink card stocks.  Seam binding was wrapped around two of the panels before popping them all back on top of each other matching the piano design on each panel.  The sentiment is from the Music Speaks stamp set.  The Two Step Butterfly was cut with the coordinating Grunge Butterfly Die and the butterfly trail was cut using the Fancy Foliage Die.  Pearls were added to finish the card.  This card will also be submitted to the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge # 167

Thanks so much for stopping by…keep safe and warm if you are in the northeast!

Hugs,
Cathymac

Gorgeous cards Cathy. Love the pink and black combo. So romantic and elegant... the paper-pieced clef note is just fantastic. Love, love, love it!

Both of your cards are beautiful, Cathy!! You always inspire me with your creative design and touches. Your case of Angela is such a wonderful tribute from one talented crafter to another!! I love the shape you created and the added texture on the first. The second has such a rustic yet elegant flair!! I just love the layering and your use of pink, black and white. Eye catching!!
