And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Something Fishy

Hello friends!  Something fishy is going on over at Splitcoaststampers this week...it's the Ways to Use It Challenge.  Carla challenged us to make an aquarium card with a dessert option to use something shiny.  My great-niece will be celebrating her 4th birthday soon, so I decided to make a fishy birthday card for her.
Creative Nugget:  Oxide inks were sponged through a wave stencil and then spritzed with water to create a background for the card.  My something shiny was a piece of acetate used to make this shaker card.  The sea grass was made with a stamp from the Scribble Flowers stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and the cute fish are from the Happy Ocean Friends set.  The sentiment was white embossed on black card stock to create the base for the little aquarium.  Seed beads were used to fill the shaker and dew drops and Bitty Sparkles were added to finish the card.

This card will also be submitted to the following challenges:

Looking Back at the ODBD April 2017 Release

Hello friends!  Today we are looking back at the Our Daily Bread Designs April 2017 Release.  The Bread Stick Designers have created more beautiful samples using the fabulous new dies and flower stamp sets for your inspiration.

I've created another Lantern and card gift set for my sample.
Here is a closer look at the lantern...
Creative Nugget:  Five panels were cut with the Luminous Lantern Die, one with the inserts which was used for the front panel.  Paper from the Chalkboard Collection was cut with a Lavish Layers Die and triangles were traced from the Luminous Lantern Die and fussy cut to layer onto four sides of the lantern. The lantern was assembled with the flaps at the top folded in and tied with ribbon.  The new Rose Dies and Rose Leaves Dies were used to make the flower on the front and a little LED votive was placed inside the lantern.
...and the card:
Creative Nugget: The Lattice Background Die was used to cut some black card stock which was adhered to paper from the Chalkboard Collection.  A section of this panel was cut away and the two remaining sections were stitched to another layer of black card stock cut with the largest Pierced Rectangle Die.  The sentiment from the Lovely Flower stamp set was white embossed.  The Rose Dies and Rose Leaves Dies were again used to make the flower and buds which were mounted to a Fancy Foliage die cut.  Some sheer ribbon and a bow were added to finish the card.

Here are the new products from the

Dandelion Tag

Hello friends!  It's beginning to feel a lot like spring here so spring colors were used for my sketch card today on Splitcoaststampers which includes a tag.

Creative Nugget:  The tag is actually a panel cut from the Luminous Lantern Die just released this month by Our Daily Bread Designs.  A combination of Oxide inks and Distress inks were used to create the backgrounds for the card and the tag. The Lattice Background Die was not only used to create a panel for the card, but it was also used as a stencil to add some texture to the backgrounds.  The dandelions from the To My Friend stamp set were stamped in Jet Black Archival ink and accents were added with a white paint pen.  The sentiment was stamped on a Circle die cut layered onto a Pierced Circle.  The tag was tied onto the card with dyed seam binding.  The little hearts were cut with Layering Hearts Dies and bling was added to the card and dandelion centers.
This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Happy Birthday, Korin!

My sweet friend Korin, owner of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, celebrated her birthday yesterday.  This card was created for her!

Creative Nugget:  Diluted Oxide inks were used to add a wash of color to the corner of the card.  This was over stamped with Leafy Flourish and Typewriter Text backgrounds and splattered with some black acrylic paint.  Strips of Washi tape were adhered to the card front off center.  The Majestic Monarch butterfly was embossed over strips of the same Washi tape and cut with the coordinating Monarch Die.  The sentiment from the Keep in Touch, Too set was stamped on a banner and added to the card. Tiny Sparkles, metallic threads and twine were added to finish the card.  All of the stamps used are available at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Looks like a crafty day today...rain, rain, rain!

Oxide Ink Addiction

Good morning, friends!  I have a confession...I am totally addicted to my new Oxide Inks.  Can't stop using them...they are so beautiful and so much fun!

Creative Nugget:  The same Oxide inks were used for all the panels, but were very watered down for the side panel.  The inks were even sponged through the new Lattice Background Die by ODBD which was used as a stencil, then spritzed with more water.  Love how the Wilted Violet Oxide ink even shows up when the dandelions from the To My Friend set was stamped on the dark background. Splatters of acrylic paint, white paint pen, and ribbon tinted with the ink were added to finish the card.  ODBD Custom dies that were used include Pierced Rectangles, Pierced Squares, Squares, and Layered Lacey Squares.

Creative Nugget:  A Combination of Oxide inks and regular Distress inks were used to color the paper used for the rose, for the light panel, and for the sentiment which is from the new Lovely Flower stamp set.  The patterned paper is from the Cozy Quilt Collection.  I'm still working on getting my roses shaped better, but the new Rose and Rose Leaves dies by ODBD are fun to use!  Other dies used include Pierced Rectangles, Double Stitched Rectangles, Pennant Flags, Lavish Layers, and Fancy Fan.  The design for this card comes from my sketch today on Splitcoaststampers, SC639.

These cards will also be submitted for the following challenges:

We are having a beautiful spring day today...hope you get to enjoy it!

My first sample was made using the new To My Friend stamp set (**LOVE**) and the Lattice Die.
Creative Nugget:  The dandelions from the To My Friend stamp set were randomly white embossed on a piece of kraft card stock.  Neenah card stock cut with the Lattice Background Die was adhered to the kraft panel.  Double Stitched Rectangles and Rectangles Dies were used to cut a frame from another piece of kraft card stock.  The sentiment was white embossed at the bottom of this panel.  The dandelions were then white embossed on a piece of vellum and sandwiched between the lattice panel and the Kraft frame.  Beautiful Borders were stitched to the edges of the craft panel.  Ribbon, twine and some glittery enamel dots were added to finish the card.

My second sample is a matching lantern gift box made with the Luminous Lantern Dies.
Creative Nugget:  After using the Luminous Lantern Die to cut a piece of Kraft card stock, Rectangles were cut from each side. The dandelions from the To My Friend stamp set were white embossed on four pieces of vellum and attached to the inside panels of the lantern.  White frames cut with Rectangles and Double Stitched Rectangles Dies were attached around each of the vellum panels.  A Little LED votive was placed inside the lantern and the top was gathered and tied from the inside.

Here is the matching gift set:
