We've taken a break from Christmas cards, so get ready to feast your eyes on some beautiful scenery.  The fabulous Breadstick Designers have prepared some gorgeous cards for you today using the new December stamps and dies from Our Daily Bread Designs!

When I was a young girl, I loved horsescollected them and read about themwhat young girl didn't?  I had never ridden one until a few years ago when we took a trip to Aiken, South Carolinawhat fun!
For my sample today the new Saddle Up stamp set was used.

Creative Nugget:   The horses from the Saddle Up stamp set were colored with Copic Markers and cut with the new Double Stitched Rectangles Die.  All circles on the card were cut with the Double Stitched Circle Diesthe larger one matted with the largest Doily die cut, and the smaller sentiment one matted with the same sized Double Stitched Circle die cut mounted a little off to the left. Papers from the Vintage Ephemera Collection were perfect for the background.  A jute bow and pearls colored with a Copic Marker were added to finish this birthday card which will be sent to my sister in Nevada.

The design for this card came from the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Sketch Challenge.

Cardinal Wishes

Hello friends!  It's my turn to post on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog so thought I would post here as well.  With only two more weeks until Christmas, the crunch is on to finish up all the needed cards.  This one will go to my nephew.

Creative Nugget:  The inspiration for my card came from Ally's Sketch on Splitcoaststampers this week and the many cardinals that visit our evergreens in the backyard.  The images from the darling Season's Greetings stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps were colored with Copic Markers and cut with the matching Season's Greetings Dies.  Stickles were used to add some sparkle to the snow and splatters of acrylic paint complete the wintery look.  Hope my nephew likes his card!

This card will be entered in the following challenges:
CASology #176 - Tree
City Crafter #291 - It's All About Winter
Crafting From the Heart #89 - Anything Goes
FUSION - Photo Inspiration (colors and cardinal)

Thanks so much for stopping by…have a wonderful weekend!

Christmas Deer

Hello dear friends!  Happy Monday morning…hope you had a wonderful weekend.  In spite of all the hustle and bustle, I managed to squeeze in a few challenges, one of which was the Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoaststampers. Laine Webb (A.K.A. Crafterlaine) has a wonderful gallery full of inspiration.  I chose her Forest Friends center step card to CASE.

Creative Nugget:   The card fold was changed using the following measurements:  Two pieces of card stock are needed…one piece measuring 5 1/4" X 11" and scored at 5 1/4", 6 1/4", 9", and 10" and the other measuring 3 3/4" X 6 1/4" and scored at 4 1/4", and 5 1/4".  Decorate the panels, fold and adhere.  Here is a side view of this card which folds flat for mailing:

All stamps and dies used on this card are from Our Daily Bread Designs.  The Peaceful Deer image was colored with Copic Markers and splattered with watered down acrylic paint.  The panel was cut with a Double Stitched Rectangle Die.  The snow drifts were made with a Leafy Edged Border Die.  Sparkling Snowflakes were stamped, cut with the matching Snowflake Die, and glittered with Stickles.   The Merry Christmas die cuts were also glittered.  Ribbon and some rhinestone stickers were added to finish the card.

This card will also be submitted for the following challenges:
Just Us Girls #322 Word Week - Merry
Addicted to Stamps and More #173 - Holiday
Pile It On #98 - Anything Christmas/Winter
Crafty Girls Creations #10 - Anything Goes
Mod Squad Challenge - Ingredients: (Color, Sparkle/Bling, Die Cuts) and (Faux Stitching, Rubber Stamp, Glitter/Bling)

Cocoa's Christmas

Hello friends!  The crunch is on to get those Christmas cards finished!  Why, oh, why can't I seem to get more of these finished throughout the year!

Creative Nugget:  The "Ways to Use It Challenge" on Splitcoaststampers today is to include a Christmas stocking on our card.  Cocoa's Christmas by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps fit the bill perfectly.  As you can see, the stocking were hung with care on a hand drawn line to accommodate the stocking images.  Cocoa's stocking was paper pieced using Penny Black papers which coordinate with the frame.  The other stockings, from the Holiday Baubles stamp set, were stamped and glittered with Stickles.  The card design is from CAS(E) this Sketch! from this week.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
Splitcoaststampers "Ways to Use It" - WT560 (Use a Christmas stocking)
CAS(E) this Sketch - CTS150
Pile It On # 97 - Use Red and Green
Inky Impressions Challenge - IIC 278 Traditional Christmas Colors

Thanks so much for stopping by…have a wonderful weekend!

Creative Nugget:  The ODBD Custom Leafy Edged Border Die was used to cut a curved edge on the pink piece of patterned paper from the Christmas Collection 2014 pad.  This was stitched to a coordinating pattern, matted with pink card stock, and mounted to a Neenah Solar Crest card base.   Double Stitched Rectangles were used to cut matching panels…the sentiment from the Christmas Carols stamp set was embossed on one panel and the Boho Background Die was used to emboss the other.  TIP: To make your own matching glitter paper, apply VersaMark ink around the edges of card stock and emboss with clear sparkle powder!  The Elegant Embellishments ornaments were stamped, cut with the coordinating Elegant Embellishments Dies, embossed with clear sparkle powder, and hung with metallic thread.  White ribbon ties everything together, and a few tiny gems were added for a little more sparkle to finish the card.

Both of my samples were made with several of the new products being released this month!

Creative Nugget:  The covered bridge in Safe Travels can be adapted to any seasonal card project.  A winter scene was created for this card using paper from the Christmas Collection 2014 and by adding a few splatters of acrylic paint and highlights made with a white paint pen.  The scene was cut and matted using the new Rectangle Dies and Double Stitched Rectangle Dies…LOVE these!  The sentiment was cut using the Double Stitched Circle Dies and matted with the little tag in the Vintage Flourished Pattern Die Set.  A snowdrift was made using the Leafy Edged Border Dies, and the Small Bow Dies and metallic thread were used to add an accent to finish the card.

The Living Water stamp set was used to make my second sample.

Creative Nugget:  Colors and papers from the Blooming Garden Collection were chosen to create a springtime scene with the beautiful water mill from the Living Water stamp set.  The focal panel was again cut with the Double Stitched Rectangles and the flowery hillside was made with the Leafy Edged Border Dies.  The sentiment was cut and matted with the Stitched Oval Dies.  A jute bow was added to complete the card.

Creative Nugget:  After white embossing the Delightfully Delicate Background, Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles, and Worn Lipstick Distress inks were sponged over the embossing.  The Poinsettia was stamped twice, sponged, and cut to be popped up and layered onto the card.  The Delightfully Delicate Background was lightly stamped on the top layer of the Poinsettia with Worn Lipstick ink. The sentiment from Christmas Innies was stamped in the bottom corner.  Prills and a silk bow were added to finish the card.  The Delightfully Delicate Background is perfect for adding just the right bit of texture to your stamping project.

Looking Back at the ODBD November 2015 Release

Welcome, my friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs November 2015 Release.  Get ready to feast your eyes on some beautiful Christmas projects the fabulous Breadstick Designers have prepared for you today using the new November stamps and dies from Our Daily Bread Designs!

The new Born This Day stamp set was used to create this Twisted Easel card.

Creative Nugget:  After creating the Twisted Easel card fold, black card stock and papers from the Christmas Collection 2014 were mounted to each panel along with a piece of sponged Neenah Solar Crest paper cut with one of the Layered Lacey Square Dies. Mixed Media paper was sprinkled with Bister pigment powders and spritzed liberally with water.  The Bister colors contain granules of brown and sepia which produce a more aged and vintage look than some of the other pigment powders that are available.  When dry, Born This Day was stamped over the panel with Jet Black Archival inks.  The new Small Bow Dies and Lovely Leaves Dies were used to create a corner accent for the card front.  Some loopy twine was placed under the bow and a rhinestone placed on the star burst to finish the card.

Here is the Twisted Easel card opened.  The inside panel was layered the same as the front.  The Babe was stamped, colored, and cut with Matting Circle Dies and popped up onto the corner to hold the easel open.

One of the sentiments from The Babe was stamped in the upper corner to finish the inside of the card.

Here are the new products from the Our Daily Bread Designs Store used to make this card...
