Looking Back at the ODBD Anniversary Release

Hello friends!  Today we are looking back at the Our Daily Bread Designs Ninth Anniversary Celebration Release.  The Bread Stick Designers have created more beautiful ways to celebrate your favorite special occasions.

How many of you are getting ready to celebrate your 29th birthday.....again?

Creative Nugget:   Distress Oxide inks were used to create panels of color on mixed media paper and Kraft card stock.  The Wildflower Silhouette Background was white embossed on the mixed media panel and was cut using a Pierced Rectangle Die. Double Stitched Rectangle and Square dies were used to make the large banner.  29  was cut from the kraft panel using the Large Number Dies, and the Butterfly & Bugs stamp and coordinating Butterfly & Bugs Dies were used to make the small butterflies.  A sentiment from the Celebration stamp set was stamped on a Double Stitched Rectangle and framed with card stock cut with a Filigree Frames Die.  Some twine was used to tie it all together.

Get Well Chickie

Hello friends!  I have a couple of cards to share with you today.  Anyone feeling under the weather?  This card is for you!

Creative Nugget:  Almost all of the sentiments from the Get Well Critters stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps were arranged on my Misti Tool and white embossed on a panel of mixed media paper.  Distress inks were applied to a craft mat, spritzed with water and the panel of paper was dabbed onto the colors.  A little more sponging and some more spritzing were used to finish the background.  The panel was cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die and a turquoise border added.  The sentiment panel was adhered to Neenah card stock on which the band-aids had been randomly stamped in different colors.  The little hearts were watercolored and painted with Wink of Stella..  The chick was colored with Copics, cut with a Circle Die and mounted to a Pierced Circle. One of the sentiments from the background was white embossed on a turquoise banner and a heated bow added to finish the card.

My second card used the Mojo Sketch for this week and the Good News stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  The stamp set released this month was perfect for getting an Easter card finished.

Creative Nugget:  Distress Oxide inks were smeared on the back of a sunburst stencil, spritzed with water and pressed onto pieces of mixed media paper.  One piece was then embossed with a sunburst embossing folder and used for the background.  Sponging was added around the border of a Neenah card stock panel and was stitched to the background.  The second Oxide ink panel was cut down for the top panel.  The cross and crown from the Good News set were stamped, fussy cut and popped onto the panel between the stamped sentiment.  An Easter greeting from the He Lives stamp set was stamped on a die cut banner.  The big seam binding bow ties everything together.

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by...have a feel good day!

National Puppy Day!

Hello friends!  Today is special for all dog lovers out there...it's National Puppy Day!  Of course I've been trying to convince my DH that we need a new puppy, but he insists that one golden retriever at a time is enough.  Now, I ask you...is one golden retriever greeting you at the door or snuggling at your feet really ever enough?  Since I'll not be getting a new puppy today, at least I can stamp one!

Creative nugget:  Doggie paw prints were randomly stamped over the card base.  Regular distress inks were sponged on mixed media paper, then the same colors of Oxide inks were sponged through the a stencil and spritzed with a little water to create the background for the doggie image.  My Misti Tool and Versafine Black Onyx ink were used to stamp the golden retriever image and the sentiment from the Puppy Love stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  Grass was drawn with a Copic Marker and some hearts with bling were added to finish the card. The layout for my card was inspired by the Fusion Challenge.
The sentiments and images from the Puppy Love stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps are perfect for creating a card for National Puppy Day.

Of course nothing beats the real thing...

From this...
...to this!

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Just Because It's Spring!

Hello everyone!  Happy Spring!  Even though we have had a pretty mild winter, I'm still glad Spring has arrived!  To celebrate, I have a couple of tulip cards to share.
Creative Nugget:  These Tulips from Our Daily Bread Designs are so much fun to color.  They were randomly stamped on the background and red stripes sponged through a stencil.  Texture Paste stripes were also added to finish the background.  The Copic colored tulips were cut with the coordinating Tulip Die and mounted on panels cut with Pierced Rectangle and Circle Scalloped Rectangle Dies.  A Mini Label Die was used to cut out the sentiment and some gingham ribbon was added to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  The background was created with Distress Oxide inks (**FUN**) and the Happy Birthday song was lightly handwritten with a gray marker.  The sentiment was also handwritten with a Fude journaling pen.  The Copic colored Tulips were again cut with the matching Tulip Die and the Pierced Rectangle Dies were used to cut each of the layered panels.   A few rhinestones and some ribbon were added to finish the card.

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a beautiful spring day!

ODBD Anniversary Celebration

Hello friends!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs Ninth Anniversary Celebration Release.  What better way to celebrate than to release a fabulous new Celebration stamp set and Large Number Dies that are perfect for creating cards, scrapbook pages, and projects for every celebration!  The samples created by the Bread Stick designers are just beautiful and are sure to provide plenty of celebration inspiration.

Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until March 18, 2017 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments on the Designers' Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on March 19th, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

How ironic that I needed two birthday cards for people both turning 70 this week, so the new Celebration stamp set and Large Number Dies were perfect!  This card will be sent to my sister-in-law's brother who loves all things beachy.

Creative Nugget:  The base was cut with the Side Step Card Die and each panel lined with blue card stock and papers from the By the Shore Paper Collection cut with a Leafy Edged Border Die to create the sand dunes.  The sentiments from the Celebration set were embossed right on the designer papers and cut with Pierced Circles Dies, Circles Dies and Layered Lacey Squares Dies.  I love the new Large Number Dies which were used to cut "70" from white card stock and sponged with distress ink while still in the die.  I found a gelli print in my stash that was used for the sea grass cut with the Grass Border Die and the fence was cut with the Fence Die.

I can't believe that my hubby and I will be married 31 years this year!  Where has the time gone?

Creative Nugget:  Pink and green distress inks were used to color sheets of mixed media paper from which were cut the Circle Scalloped Rectangle panel, the Pennant Flags, and the embossed small Layered Heart.  Pierced Rectangle Dies were used to cut panels from papers from the Shabby Rose Collection, my very favorite!  These were stitched and layered onto the card.  Thirty-one was cut with the new pierced Large Numbers Dies and the sentiments from the Celebration stamp set were embossed. Bitty Blossoms die cuts and small pearls were added to finish the card.

Looking Back at the ODBD March 2017 Release

Hello friends!  Today we are taking another look at the Our Daily Bread Designs March 2017 Release.  My love of coloring began at a very early age and has continued to the present, so...I was very excited when ODBD decided to release the God's Blessings Coloring Pages.  These pages can be made into cards very easily, which is what I have done, or, they can be attached to a journaling Bible as a Tip-In.

My first page is this beloved verse from the 23rd Psalm.

Creative Nugget:  Layers of Pierced Rectangles, stitching and a Small Bow were added to the God's Blessings Coloring Page which had been colored with a combination of Copic Markers and glittery gel pens to turn it into a card.

The second page is from Ezekiel.

Creative Nugget:  The God's Blessings Coloring Page was cut slightly with a Pierced Rectangle Die and colored with glittery gel pens making the whole card shimmer.  A few clear Nuvo Crystal drops were used to add the look of raindrops.

These products from the Our Daily Bread Designs Store were used to complete these cards:

Daffodils

Hello friends!  Hope your week gets off to a great start!  Even with the mild winter we've had, I'm still looking forward to the warmer weather this week. ..thus the sunny daffodils.   My card was created for a few challenges and to begin getting several Easter cards finished.

Creative Nugget:  A light splash of watercolor was washed on the background and distress ink sponged through a stencil made with the Circle Scalloped Rectangle Die released by Our Daily Bread Designs.  This panel was cut using a Pierced Rectangle Die.  The Daffodils were also watercolored and cut with the coordinating Daffodil Die.  Happy was die cut several times using the Script Happy Birthday Die and part of the sentiment was white embossed on a grey Pennant Flag die cut.  A yellow frame was cut using the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies.  All of this tucked together to make the card based on the latest CAS(E) this Sketch design.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
CAS(E) this Sketch #211
Crafting From the Heart Challenge #149 - Anything Goes
{PIN}spirational Challenge #185

Thanks so much for stopping by...have a positively delightful day!

Peaceful Peonies

Hello friends...happy Friday!  Fridays are release days at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and today we are adding four new stamp sets to the SNSS Store.  My sample was created with the beautiful new Peaceful Peonies stamp set designed by Nina Brackett.

Creative Nugget:  Several sentiments from Peaceful Peonies as well as many more from current SNSS sets were placed on my Misti Tool and stamped with a light pink ink.  This panel was cut with a pierced rectangle die and sponging was added around the edges.  Watercolors were painted on watercolor paper and a chevron stencil placed over it and air dried creating some texture.  The triangle and sentiment layers were cut from this watercolor piece.  I love creating my own backgrounds, but my very favorite technique is Copic coloring.  The peony was colored twice and the flower part of the second one was fussy cut and popped on the first image for more texture.  A sentiment from the Peaceful Peonies set was white embossed and added to the card along with a bow made from metallic thread.

Peaceful Peonies is available now as a pre-order from the

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Emboss the sentiment on vellum cut with the Pennant Flags Die. Add two strips of paper from the Blooming Garden Collection behind the tulips.  Add a few accents with a white paint pen to finish the card.

My second sample was made with the Daffodils stamp set and the new Side Step Card Die.
