Looking Back at the ODBD February Release

Hello friends!  Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Today we are taking another look at the Our Daily Bread Designs February 2017 Release!  Get ready for lots of LOVEly inspiration!

I used several of the new dies to make a card that would be perfect for Valentine's Day, a wedding, or even an anniversary.

Creative Nugget:  The design for my card came from this week's Mojo Monday Sketch. Many of the panels were cut from papers from the Blushing Rose Collection using the Pierced Rectangle Dies, the Pierced Squares Dies, and the Layering Hearts Dies.  The vertical border strip and the pretty heart overlay was cut using the Heavenly Hearts Dies.  Other dies used were the Love Script Die and the Clouds and Raindrops Die.  Some stitching, ribbon, and pearls were used to finish the card.  Very unusual for me, but there is no stamping on this one!

Birthday Floral

Hello friends!  Just popped in to share a birthday card using the Splitcoaststampers Sketch for today and another of the fun, new Pretty Potted Florals designed by Nina Bracket from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.

Creative Nugget:  The background for this card was made by applying watered down distress inks with an acrylic block on some mixed media paper, some sponging through a crackle stencil, and then sprayed with some Gilded Gold Art Anthology spray…a bit messy, but a pretty layer for my Copic-colored Pretty Potted Floral.  The little Majestic Monarchs were stamped on scraps of the background paper, cut with the matching Monarch Die, and mounted on coordinating squares of card stock.  The sentiment from another new stamp set, Floral Greetings, was embossed on a pennant flag die cut.  Some white accents, a little bow, and a pearl of Nuvo Crystal Drops were added to finish the card.
These stamp sets from Sweet 'n Sassy were used to make this card:

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
Simon Says Monday - Favorite Tool (Copic Markers and the Big Shot Plus)
Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge 86 - Colors (Light Yellow, Peach, Teal)

Floral Greetings

Hello everyone!  Just sharing a few cards from the new Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps February release.  SNSS just added two beautiful floral sets designed by Gracie Chavez and Nina Bracket and three Bible journaling sets, one of which is a new set in the Jesus collection.  The inspiration for these cards came from several challenges.

Creative Nugget:  One of the images from the beautiful Floral Greetings set was white embossed on water color paper. Kuretake watercolors were used to color the flowers on this background panel.  The same flower was stamped on Neenah card stock with Rich Cocoa Memento ink, colored with Copic Markers, and fussy cut. The sentiment is just one of seven included in the set.  The design is from Freshly Made Sketches but I did flip the orientation.
My second card was made using the new Pretty Potted Florals stamp set designed by Nina Bracket.

Creative Nugget:  The design for this card came from CAS(E) This Sketch.  A frame was cut from green card stock and Penny Black paper.  The flower pot was colored with Copic Markers and accents added with a white gel pen.  The sentiment is another one included in the Floral Greetings set and was white embossed on a vellum banner.  A bow and some Bitty Sparkles were added to finish the card.
Here are the new stamp sets from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store used to make these cards:
All of these pretty flowers are making me yearn for Spring!

These cards will be entered in the following Challenges:

Be My Valentine

Hello friends!  With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, I took the Splitcoaststampers Sketch and some of the new products from the Our Daily Bread Designs February Release to create a card for the occasion.

Creative Nugget:  A panel cut from some Boho Bolds paper with the Glorious Gable Box Die and Heavenly Hearts Insert Die serves as a box overflowing with love.  One of the Layering Hearts Dies and the little Clouds and Raindrops heart dies were cut from Beautiful Boho papers to create the hearts spilling out of the box. The Small Bow Die and the Pennant Flags Die were used to make the banner at the bottom of the card.  Finally the Hugs & Kisses sentiment was stamped on a slightly watercolored heart to finish the card.
This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge 631
Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #228 - Holiday
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #181 - Love, Love, Love
Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - XOXO

Welcome Sweet Baby

Hello friends!  Just a quick card to share with you today.  A friend from church is expecting her first grand child and is just ecstatic, so of course I had to make her a baby card.  A few adorable critters from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps were perfect for welcoming the new arrival.

Creative Nugget:  Plaid paper from my stash and some yellow card stock were stitched together for the front of the card.  The cute critters from the Stand Tall and As the Deer stamp sets were colored with Copic Markers, the deer fussy cut and popped onto the sponged scene.  A sentiment from the Little One set was added to finish the card.

This card was also posted on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog yesterday and will be submitted for the following challenges:

Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #227 - Make Your Mark
Through the Craft Room Door Challenge January 31 - Anything Goes
CASology Cue Card - Youth
Crafting From the Heart Challenge #145 - Anything Goes

Hello friends!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs February 2017 Release!  Since February is the LOVE month, the new stamp sets being released are perfect for Valentine's Day, Weddings, Anniversaries, and any time you want to send a little love.  The Glorious Gable Box Die with all of the pretty inserts is wonderful for including a little chocolate treat along with your Valentine card.  The samples created by the Bread Stick designers are just beautiful and are sure to provide plenty of inspiration.

Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until February 2, 2017 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments on the Designers' Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on February 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

My first sample was made using the new Hugs & Kisses stamp set and the Tulip Heart Die along with the Layering Hearts Dies

Creative Nugget:  The front of the card was pieced with papers from the Heart & Soul Collection cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die. A border was cut with one of the inserts from the Glorious Gable Box Dies and was stitched to the card.  The sentiment is from the Hugs & Kisses stamp set and was embossed on a Layering Hearts die cut which was layered on the Tulip Heart die cut.  Some flowers and leaves cut with the Bitty Blossoms and Leaves and Branches Dies were added to finish the card.

My second sample is actually a little gift box made with the new Glorious Gable Box Dies.

Creative Nugget:  The Glorious Gable Box was cut with the inserts in place.  Paper from the Heart & Soul Collection was cut to line the inside panels of the box.  Two frames were cut using the Layering Hearts Dies and a charm was suspended between them. Flowers were cut, sponged, and added to the heart frame.  The sentiment from the Hugs & Kisses stamp set was embossed on one of the little Mini Labels and tied to the gable box handle.
