Thank You Bunches

Hello friends!  It's my turn to share on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog so thought I'd share my cute thank you card made with the new Winnie's Garden stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps here as well.  This stamp set is full of cute images and sentiments making it very versatile and ideal for many different occasions as well as for just sending a quick note to a friend!

Creative Nugget:  The flower image from Winnie's Garden was white embossed randomly on the background panel and pigment powders were sprinkled on and spritzed with water.  Excess water was dabbed off with a paper towel and the panel was dried with a heat tool.  Color Burst pigments were sprinkled through a stencil, spritzed with water, and dried to create the circle panel.  The grass was die cut using the Grass Border after the Color Burst powders were dried.  Mixed Media card stock was used for the Color Burst panels, but water color paper would also work for these techniques.  Winnie was colored with Copics, fussy cut, and popped onto the vellum sentiment panel.  Wink of Stella was added to the butterfly which was added to complete the Splitcoaststampers Sketch.  Winnie's garden is much prettier than mine!  LOL!

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Thank you bunches for stopping by…be sure to plant some kindness today!

You Make Me Smile!

Hello friends!  It's a little rainy and dreary today so I thought I'd share a little sunshine.  The smile in the new You Bless Me So Stamp & Die Duo set released by Our Daily Bread Designs this month was ideal for creating a happy card that fit several challenges.
Creative Nugget: Distress Inks were sponged through a stencil to make a space for the focal smile.  Layers of paper from the Birthday Brights Paper Collection were used for the border and for the word die.  Our Daily Bread Designs Custom Pierced Circles Die, Beautiful Borders Die, and Flourished Star Pattern Dies were used to cut many of the elements.  Some stitching, Glimmer Glaze, Metallic Thread, and rhinestones were used to finish the card.   There is a lot of shimmer on the card but it doesn't show very well on the photo.  Tuesday Morning Sketch #357 was used for the design.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use It #589 - Are You Four It?
Tuesday Morning Sketches # 357
Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #199 - CAS
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Add Some Shimmer
Crafty Girls Creations Challenge #21 - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Help make someone's day by giving one of your smiles!

Hugs,
Cathymac

Looking Back at the ODBD June 2016 Release

Hello friends!  Today Our Daily Bread Designs is taking another look at the huge June Release.  Be sure to check out all the fabulous projects made by the Bread Basket Design Team…there's a little something for everyone!

The Armor of God and Full Armor stamp sets were used to create this Book Fold Card.

Creative Nugget:  A background was made using Color Burst powders and Liquid Metals.  The Vintage Flourish Pattern Die was used to cut the bronze metallic card stock and attached over the created background.  The suit of armor image from the Armor of God stamp set was embossed and colored with Color Burst Powders.  This panel was cut and matted with the Vintage Label Dies.  The shield, helmet, and sword were all colored with Liquid Metals making them shimmer.

Here's the inside:

Creative Nugget:   Bronze card stock and papers created with Color Burst Powders were used to line the panels of the Book Fold Card.  The armor labels from the Full Armor stamp set were randomly white embossed on mixed media paper and colored with Color Burst Powders.  Sentiments from both the Armor of God and Full Armor sets were embossed, cut and matted with Circle and Double Stitched Circle Dies, and mounted to finish the card.

With Sympathy

Hello sweet friends!  I love taking Online Card Classes to learn new tips and techniques but usually take the class independently because I like working at my own pace.  One of the techniques from the Clear & Sheer Class was used to make a sympathy card needed for a family at church.

Creative Nugget:  All of the stamp sets used are from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and this card is also being shared on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog today.  The poppies from the Precious Poppies stamp set were white embossed on a piece of vellum dyed with Memento dye inks.  The vellum was attached to card stock that was embossed using the Anna Griffin Poppies folder and mounted to a card base.  The sympathy greeting from the Script Sentiments stamp set was gold embossed on a strip of white card stock and attached to the card.  A bow and gold pearls were added to finish the card.  A sentiment from Sympathy Innies was gold embossed on the inside.
(The Precious Poppies stamp set is currently out of stock but will be available soon.)

Going to the Circus

Hello friends!  The Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoaststampers is heading to the circus.  Today in 1835,  P. T. Barnum and his circus started their first tour in the United States.  This cute little clown by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps was perfect for commemorating the occasion.

Creative Nugget:  Paper piecing and Copic coloring were used for the clown from Circus Fun.  This TUTORIAL on Splitcoaststampers was helpful for coloring the balloons so they looked transparent.  Banner Dies were used for the banner across the top of the card.  The design of the card was the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week.
These are the stamps and dies from SNSS that were used to create this card:

My first sample was made using the Armor of God stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  One of the metallic papers from the Winter Collection was a perfect  background for the Armor of God card.  Frames were cut from silver card stock using the Majestic Medallions Dies, the Rectangle Dies, the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies, and the Pierced Ovals Dies.  The Armor of God image was colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut, and popped onto the left side of the card with mounting tape.  The silver embossed sentiments was cut with one of the Ovals Dies to finish the card.

My second card was made with the new Sending My Love Stamp & Die Duo.

Creative Nugget:   The stitched layers on the card were made using papers from the new Birthday Brights Paper Collection, Smokey Shadow and Neenah Solar Crest card stock.  Copic Markers were again used to color the Wishing Well.  A few clouds were sponged using one of the die cuts from the Clouds & Raindrops die set as a mask.  The Sending word die included in the Sending My Love Stamp & Duo set was cut once from the patterned paper and twice from white card stock as well as from the front of the Wishing Well panel.  These were all layered and pieced back into the cut made on the front of the card.  The sentiment was white embossed on a piece cut using the Log Cabin Quilt Die…**love using these pieces for small sentiments!  A Bitty Border was cut from the patterned paper to frame the sentiment, and a few butterflies cut using the new Bitty Butterflies Dies were added.  A white grid ribbon bow and some rhinestones were added to finish the card.
