Here are my projects using several products from this month's release:
Creative Nugget: My first card is made with the new Deep Waters stamp set. The "Wrinkle Free Distress Technique" was used to make the background and while still wet, course salt was sprinkled on and left to dry. When dry, the salt was rubbed off and the piece was embossed with the Faithful Fish Pattern Die. The Fishing Net Background was white embossed on another panel and distress inks were sponged over the embossing. This was cut with the Layered Lacey Square Die and added to the corner of the card. An embossed piece of Kraft card stock was torn and added to the bottom of the card. The image was colored with Copic Markers, cut with the Stitched Oval Die and mounted to an Oval die cut. Cheesecloth was attached to the back of the card before adhering it to the card. The coral was cut from scraps left over from other projects with the Fancy Foliage Die and tucked under the Kraft layer. The sentiment was stamped on a Mini Tag Die and tied to the card front to finish the card.
My second card was made on one of the pre-cut and scored Book Fold Cards using both the Deep Waters and the Under the Sea stamp sets.
Creative Nugget: Paper from the Beautiful Boho Paper Collection along with KaiserCraft papers were used to line each of the panels on the card. The papers were embossed using the Sunburst Background Die and a Beautiful Border was added between the layers. The image from Deep Waters was lightly stamped in Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and the sentiment was stamped over the image. This was cut and mounted to Ovals and Stitched Ovals, Gold Baker's Twine and Pearls were added to finish the front of the card.
Images from both the Deep Waters and Under the Sea stamp sets were colored with Copic Markers, cut, and mounted to Ovals and Stitched Ovals. They were then mounted onto the pop-up book portion of the card. The grass and coral were also cut from scraps found in my stash using the Grass Border Die and the Fancy Foliage Die. Pearls were added to finish the card.

Two beautiful cards, Cathy! I love that second one with the Book Fold on the inside.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, let's start with card number 1. I love the colors, embossing and the Faithful Fish pattern die. The coral looks great around the oval containing the image which is colored very nicely. I like the Mini Tag die that you used also. On card number 2, I love the embossed background with a sliver of the border peeking through. This is a simple yet pretty card with the addition of the twine and the pearls. On card number 3, this is the kind of card you give your spouse or your bestie. A great deal of time went into this and I think only those that create would know. It's beautiful and I love the sentiment. A reminder that God loves us always. Very nice creations.

These are so amazing!!! I scrolled back and forth between them trying to pick a fave and it's impossible!
ReplyDeleteLove the coloring on your first card. The addition of the cheesecloth is genius! Gives a nice texture and interest, minus bulk. Also a neat idea to tear the kraft panel. Makes for a more organic look. I like the simplicity of your second card. Nice CAS design, but not boring in the least! :) I like the greeting stamped over the light background image in that one. Finally, I love that pop-up book card. Such a neat design, and great coloring on the panels. Tfs! ~ Andrea Andrea's Paper Antics
