Whispered Prayers

Hello friends!  Today on Splitcoaststampers, Peggy (A.K.A. jasonw1), is the Featured Stamper, and what a gorgeous gallery full of vintage beauty she has!  I had no trouble finding THIS card to CASE, and knew exactly how I was going to make it mine.

Creative Nugget:  Having had such wonderful inspiration, this card came together more quickly than most.  The Vintage Cream layers were created with Our Daily Bread Designs new Custom Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies and Angel Wings Die.  These layers were sponged with Antique Linen distress ink, and the sentiment from the Holy Angels stamp set was stamped in Brushed Corduroy distress ink.  A button with Baker's Twine was placed between the wings, and pearls colored with a Copic Marker were added to finish the card.  A good friend battling depression will be the recipient of this card…just wanted to let her know I'm praying for her.

Here are the gorgeous dies and stamp set available at the

This card will be entered into the following challenges:

Our teams have created some fabulous projects for you to enjoy so please grab your favorite beverage or snack and cozy up for a great blog hop---here we go!

I had a lot of fun experimenting with the craft metal sheets.  Here's a little card I created with the adorable Owl Be There stamp set and a copper craft metal sheet:
Creative Nugget:  The tree trunk on this card was created by embossing the copper craft metal sheet with some wood grain and brayering over it with black acrylic paint.  Most of the paint was rubbed off leaving some in the crevices.  I love the woodsy look of this panel!  The tree branch from the Love Birds Die Set was also cut from the craft metal sheet.  The leaves were colored with Copic Markers.  My owl was colored with Copic Markers except for the belly which was paper pieced, fussy cut, and popped onto the branch.  The sentiment was attached to a copper die cut tag and hung from the branch with copper twine.

Next I tried a more elegant look.
Creative Nugget:  This time a black craft metal sheet was embossed with the CB Poppy folder.  A sanding block was used to remove some of the black allowing the silver to shine through. The same was done with the border on the left side of the card. The poppy from the Flower Blocks 3 stamp set was colored with Copic Markers and cut with a Classic Square Nestie.  The Perfect Layering Tool was used to make the white and red mats, and the card front was mounted to a Solar Crest card base.  The sentiment from the God is Bigger stamp set was stamped on a Mini Tag Die and attached with a bow to finish the card.

Whether you want a cute card or an elegant one, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and Add A Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets are a fabulous combination!

I hope you've been inspired by your visit today…enjoy the hop!

Taking a Look Back at ODBD May Release

Hello friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs May Release.  A wonderful sentiment from the Key to Heaven stamp set was just what I needed to encourage a friend.  You will see gorgeous angel wings, beautiful papers, and uplifting sentiments as you stop by each of the designers' blogs.

 Here is my sample:
Creative Nugget:  A Z Fold card base was created using a piece of textured card stock I found in my stash.  Then I grabbed some gorgeous papers from the Rustic Beauty Paper Collection and started to decorate the panels of the Z Fold to look like a door. The only stamping here was the sentiment from Key to Heaven which was stamped on a piece of DP cut with the Circle Ornament Die and mounted on a Spellbinders Circle Nestie and and a Fancy Tags Three Die.  The keys from the Angel Wings Die set were cut and embossed from Early Espresso card stock and attached with a loop of button twine.  The card stays closed with a piece of Seam binding.

And here is the card opened.
The sentiment was completed on the inside on matching pieces of DP cut and embossed with the Vintage Flourish Pattern Die.  A few spirals of the Fancy Foliage Die were used as an accent, and although it is difficult to see in the photo, some of the morning glories from the DP were cut and popped up on the foliage to finish the card.

Here are some of the supplies used  available at the

Welcome to ODBD May 2014 Release

Hello friends!
The beginning of May means another fabulous release by Our Daily Bread Designs.  I'm ready to say good-bye to April showers and welcome May flowers! This release, filled with Morning Glories and Angel Wings, will help to do just that!

Three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments left on the designers' blogs to receive a $15 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store to be used toward the purchase of ODBD stamps.  You have until May 2, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments!  The winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on May 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

Here are my samples for this wonderful release:

Creative Nugget:  The beautiful Heart & Soul designer paper was mounted to a Smokey Shadow card base, and four of the Decorative Corners Dies were stitched together on Smokey Shadow card stock to form the background for the sentiment.   The sentiment, from the Key to Heaven stamp set, was embossed with Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder onto the Vintage Label Die.  The Ornate Hearts Dies were aded to the label and to the ribbon. The keys from the Angel Wings die set were cut six times…three were glued together for each key... then embossed with Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder and tied to the heart to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  The Stair Step card base was made with Pure Luxury card stock.  Gelatos were scribbled onto a white panel and blended with a watercolor brush to make the sky on the back panel.  Clouds were added to the sky using my finger and some Gesso.  The Quatrefoil Pattern Die was used to form a kind of trellis for the middle step.  The sentiment from the Holy Angels stamp set was stamped on the Vintage Flourish Pattern Die, Angel Wings were attached, and mounted to the trellis.  As an afterthought, a Wink of Stella marker was used to give the Angel Wings a bit of shimmer.  The Morning Glories from the Glory stamp set were colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut and added to the Fence Die for the bottom step.  A bow and one of the Morning Glories were added to finish the card.

Just look at the new supplies used to make these samples
