Nature Silhouettes 2

Here is a card I made with this set:


Creative Nugget:  This card was my attempt at CAS!  After masking off a border with Post-It notes, a paint brush and some distress inks were used to lay down strokes of color on watercolor paper that had been brushed with water.  The paper warped a little as it dried, so I used an iron, no steam, to flatten it. When dry, the images were stamped using Versafine Onyx Black ink.  This panel was mounted to True Black card stock and attached to a Solar Crest card base.  No muss...no fuss...easy, peasy!  That's one of the advantages of a silhouette set...you can create a pretty card in no time flat!

    Both of your cards are so pretty! I especially like the watercoloring background you did. I hope you don't mind if I ask what is CAS? I'm fairly new to Sweet & Sassy so I'm in a learning phase but very excited about learning!

    Lovely cards Cathy - you know, I never thought to use an iron to flatten warped cards, why didn't I think of that? I especially like your second card, the black bird & feather silhouettes look so striking against the pretty varigated background of color!

    Love then black embossing against the bright colors on both cards. like the three panels with the sentiment centered between...and the sheet music backgrounder.

    Gorgeous cards Cathy! I love the brushed color on the first one and the full sunset on the second - I really need to try these techniques! I have not used silhouette stamps much, but these are really beautiful!

    Beautiful cards!! I really like the looks of this set with it being a solid silhouette image. Your first card is so soft and flowing and the leaves were really eye catching - made me smile. Love your second card with the beautiful panels and your sunset, along with the soft music background. Great job! Blessings~
