Throwback Thursday - Beverage Cup Dies

Hello friends!  It's time for Throwback Thursday over at Our Daily Bread Designs and the feature for today is the Beverage Cup Dies.  What a wonderful set of dies for creating the perfect coffee card...or hot chocolate...or a nice cold cup of lemonade!

Creative Nugget:  The background for this card was created by sponging distress inks through a stencil that reminded me of coffee rings on Mixed Media Paper and then cut with one of the Pierced Rectangle Dies.  A few splatters and spritzes with water were added.  A sentiment from the I Love Coffee set was stamped in the lower corner.  Papers from the Latte Love Paper Pad were cut into strips, woven together and added to the card front.  The Beverage Cup Dies were used to make the coffee cups which were mounted on card stock cut with one of the Filigree Circle Dies.  A few gems were colored with Copic Markers and added to finish the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Take time to enjoy a steamy beverage with a friend today!

Hello friends!  Today I'm playing along with the Sketch Challenge at Splitcoaststampers and a few other online challenges using the Merry Christmas Stamp/Die Duo from Our Daily Bread Designs.

All Wrapped Up

Hello friends!  Today I'm playing along with several online challenges and since Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is still celebrating its eleven year birthday, I reached for one of the newer stamp sets to create another Christmas card.

Creative Nugget:  The packages from the All Wrapped Up stamp set were all stamped on watercolor paper, colored with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers, fussy cut and stacked onto the embossed vertical panel.  One of the plaids from the Texture Tiles 4 set was stamped on yellow card stock with a matching ink to create the tone-on-tone strip down the right side.  The design is from Freshly Made Sketches and the colors were inspired by the Just Us Girls Challenge.  The sentiment was stamped on the lower corner and sequins were added to finish the card.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy a sweet discount over at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store this week!

I haven't really begun to wrap Christmas presets yet, so this is a reminder to get started...but I think I'll wait until after Thanksgiving!

Looking Back at the ODBD November Release

Good morning, friends!  Today we are taking another look at the ODBD November 2018 Release.  The pretty stamps and dies that were released this month are perfect for your Christmas crafting.

My samples use the new Christmas Bells Dies and the Retro Christmas Paper Pad.

Creative Nugget:  The Double Display Card Dies and Double Display Layers Dies were used to create the card base.  The bells and foliage were then cut and embossed with the Christmas Bells Dies.  VersaMark Ink was sponged on the raised areas and embossed with copper embossing powder.  The sentiment is from the Christmas Card Verses stamp set and was cut with a Circle Die and matted with a Pierced Circle die cut.

Creative Nugget:  Papers from the Retro Christmas Paper Pad were cut with Pierced Rectangle Dies.  Beautiful Border Dies were used to create borders down each side of the vertical panel which was decorated with bells and foliage cut with Pine Branches Dies and Christmas Bells Dies.  Copper embossing powder was again used on the raised portions of the bells.

Be sure to check out the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog, Facebook Page, and Instagram to see more beautiful samples created with the October Release products by the Breadbasket Designers.

Thrill of Hope

Hello friends!   Today I am sharing two cards for several challenges made with a new favorite stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps...Thrill of Hope.

Creative Nugget:  Distress Oxide Inks were applied directly to a large acrylic block, spritzed with water and smeared onto a piece of mixed media paper to create the background for the trees. The same inks were used to sponge the sky and snow drifts on the card base.  The tree border from the Thrill of Hope stamp set was stamped in purple along the bottom of the card and the deer, cut with a Scan 'N Cut, was popped onto the card.  The sentiment was white embossed to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  The Buffalo plaid from the Texture Tiles 4 stamp set was stamped in red on Kraft card stock to make the border along the left side of the card.  The tree border was stamped in Frayed Burlap ink at the bottom of another panel of Kraft card stock.  The large trees and sentiment were white embossed and snowflakes stamped in white and Frayed Burlap inks were added to the sky along with white paint splatters.  Tiny gems were white embossed and added to the snowflakes for added dimension to finish the card.

Two for Tuesday - Joyful Christmas

Hello friends!  It's time for another Two for Tuesday feature over at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog.  I used the new Joyful Christmas Stamp/Die Duo for both of my cards.

Creative Nugget:  The poinsettia branch image from the Joyful Christmas Stamp/Die Duo was repeatedly white embossed over a mixed media panel that was cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die. Distress Oxide inks were applied over the embossing.  A frame was cut from pink card stock using Pierced Rectangle Dies.  One of the sentiments from the set was green embossed and cut with a Pierced Circle Die.  The Peaceful Poinsettia Dies and the Pine Branches Dies were used to cut the poinsettia embellishment to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  A panel of paper from the Christmas Coordinating 2015 Paper Pad was cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die and added behind the frame on this stepped up version of the card.  Additional layering dies used include a Bitty Borders Die, a Lavish Layers Die and a Filigree Circles Die.  A Mojo Monday Sketch was used for the design of this card.

Poinsettia Box

Hello friends!  Everywhere you go, you are beginning to see Christmas decorations and lights going up all over the place...yes, even before Thanksgiving.  That can only mean that Christmas will be here before you know it.  I'm still working on getting my Christmas cards finished so reached for Our Daily Bread Designs new Poinsettia Box stamp set to make a little gift box for a gift certificate.

Creative Nugget:  The Card Caddy and Gift Bag Dies along with the Gift Bag Handles and Topper Dies were used to cut card stock and papers from the Retro Christmas Paper Pad for the gift box.  The Poinsettia Box was colored with Copic Markers and the panel cut with a Pierced Square Die.  Retro Christmas Paper was cut with the Layered Lacey Squares Die to make a frame for the Poinsettia Box.  The bow die from the Christmas Bells Dies was used for the bow and the sentiment was stamped on a tag cut with the A Gift For You Dies.

This gift box will be submitted for the following challenges:

Throwback Thursday - Steampunk Gears

Hello friends!  It's time for Throwback Thursday over at Our Daily Bread Designs and the feature for today is the Steampunk Gears Dies.  These dies are perfect for creating masculine cards, something I find challenging.

Creative Nugget:  The clock from the God's Timing stamp set was clear embossed on paper from the Vintage Ephemera Paper Pad which was then cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die and sponged with Distress Inks.  Large Banner Dies were used to cut coordinating papers from both the Vintage Ephemera Paper Pad and the Ephemera Essentials Paper Pad.  Distress inks were applied to Mixed Media paper.  The clock was stamped and cut with a Pierced Circle Die, the sentiment was stamped and cut with a Large Banner Die, and some of the Steampunk Gears were all cut from this sponged panel.  Additional gears were cut from black and brown card stock.  The banners were stitched to the card and the other elements were layered around the clock to finish the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by...Enjoy your day!

Crazy About Snowmen

Hello friends... Happy Saturday!  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is celebrating its 11th year birthday during the whole month of November so today I am playing with an adorable new stamp set just released...Crazy About Snowmen.  My card features just two of the cutest, smiling snowmen out of the ten in the set.

Creative Nugget:  The sky was created by sparkle embossing one of the stamps from the Texture Tiles 1 stamp set, then smooshing and spritzing the panel with Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans Oxide Inks.  The snowdrift in the middle of the card was cut with a hillside borders die.  A canvas impression plate was used on the bottom.  The panel behind the snowmen was white embossed with several snowflakes included in the set and sponged with the same two Oxide Inks.  The snowmen were colored with Copic Markers and cut with my Scan 'N Cut.  The sentiment was blue embossed on a banner die cut.  More sparkle was added to the card with a few Bitty Sparkle Gems.  The design for my card comes from Freshly Made Sketches 361.
