Being Fruity

Hello friends!  Today I am sharing two cards on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog using a fun new stamp set released this month by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps...Fruit of the Spirit!

I took the strawberry in the Fruit of the Spirit stamp set and dipped it in chocolate...SWEET!

Creative Nugget:  The background was created with one of the stamps in the Texture Tiles 1 stamp set and a little Glossy Accents was used to make the chocolate nice and shiny.  Add a few sprinkles in the shaker card and you have one SWEET card!

Creative Nugget:  The background on this card features the pineapple from the Fruit of the Spirit stamp set.  The splatters were made with one of the stamps in the Texture Tiles 1 stamp set.  The flamingo from the Be a Flamingo stamp set just dropped in to say, "hello!"  The letters in the sentiment are from the Sunshine Girl Alpha.  The design for this card comes from the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge.

Looking Back at the ODBD August 2018 Release

Good morning, friends!  Today we are taking another look at the ODBD August 2018 Release.  We probably all know health care providers that deserve our heartfelt thanks.  The new ODBD products this month are wonderful for creating that perfect card to express your gratitude!

My first sample uses the new Great Care Stamp/Die Duo.

Creative Nugget:  The card base was cut with the Center Step Card Die and the Center Step Layers Dies were used to cut paper from the Snowflake Season Collection.  The nurse uniform was paper pieced using paper from the Boho Bolds Paper Pad.  The Nurse Cap and Bandages Dies were used for the cute medical embellishments on the card.  The two sentiments were white embossed on Pennant Flag die cuts and the third sentiment was cut with a Circle Die and mounted to a Filigree Circle die cut to finish the card.

My second sample uses the King of My Heart Stamp/Die Duo.

Creative Nugget:  The heartbeat die from the King of My Heart Stamp/Die Duo was used to cut one of the papers in the Wedding Wishes Collection and red card stock.  The patterned paper was mounted to white card stock and the red heartbeat fit right into the cut edge from the wedding paper.  The sentiment was silver embossed and two little hearts cut with the Layering Hearts Dies were added.  A few gems were added to finish the CAS card.

Throwback Thursday - Fishing Net Background

Hello friends!  It's Throwback Thursday over at Our Daily Bread Designs and the feature for today is the Fishing Net Background.  Background stamps are perfect for all of those wonderful distress techniques and the Fishing Net Background is one of my favorites to use with an ocean or fishing theme.

Creative Nugget:  The Tri-Fold Card with Layers Dies were used to make the card base.  The layers were cut from paper washed with Distress Oxide Inks and stamped with the Fishing Net Background.  A circular aperture was cut from the center panel and popped up over the Deep Waters scene which was colored with Copic Markers.  One of the Fancy Foliage dies was used to cut the coral from card stock watercolored with Distress Oxide Inks.  The sentiment from the Deep Waters stamp set was cut with a Pennant Flag Die to finish the card.

CAS Get Well

Hello friends!  Illness is a fact of life, but a thoughtful get well card is a great way to let someone feeling under the weather know that you are thinking of them... so, it's a good idea to have a few get well wishes on hand.

Creative Nugget:  A torn piece of card stock patched together with a few bandages makes a quick and easy get well card.  The Get Well Wishes stamp set is from the ODBD August release.  Dies used to create this card include the Bandages Dies, Double Stitched Rectangles, and Pierced Rectangles.  Since wounds must be mended, a little stitching was added to the card.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Two For Tuesday: Sending You Sunshine

Hello friends!  It's time for another Two for Tuesday feature over at Our Daily Bread Designs.  It's off to the beach this week with Sending You Sunshine.

Creative Nugget:  The Sunburst Background Die was used to cut and emboss the background for the CAS version of this card. Sandpaper was cut with one of the Curvy Slopes Dies to create the sand dune.  The sand castle was colored with Copic Markers on another panel and sponging added around the outside edges. Twine was wrapped around the card and a sentiment from the Sending You Sunshine stamp set was stamped to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  Paper from the By the Shore Collection was added to the stepped up version.  The Letter H and Letter I dies were used to cut the word "HI" from the sand castle layer.  The letters were cut five times from card stock and stacked behind the word to make it pop out from the scene.

Be sure to hop on over to the ODBD Blog to see more Two for Tuesday creations!

Wishing You Sunshine

Hello friends!  Today I'm sharing several cards here as well as on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog using some of the new stamp sets just released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

First up is this fruity card wishing you sunshine using the Fruit of the Spirit stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  Distress Oxide Inks were pressed onto strips of painters tape and applied to the card front in a plaid pattern. Texture was added with one of the textures from the Texture Tile 1 stamp set.  Texture paste was then applied through the TH Sun Rays Stencil.  A frame was cut with Spellbinder Dies and the fruit from the Fruit of the Spirit stamp set was colored, cut, and applied to the frame.  Scripty Thoughts and the Sunshine Girl Alpha sets were used to make the sentiment.

My second card was made using the Happy Scarecrow stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  Isn't this scarecrow just the cutest, most happy fellow you've ever seen?  Distress Oxide inks were applied to a panel and the leaves from the Happy Scarecrow set stamped over the colors.  The scene on the left side of the card was colored with Copic Markers.  Texture on the grassy hills was stamped using one of the texture stamps from the Texture Tiles 2 stamp set.  The sentiment was white embossed on a hand cut banner to finish the card.

ODBD Throwback Thursday - Grill Master

Hello friends!  It's Throwback Thursday over at Our Daily Bread Designs and the features for today are the Grill Master stamp set and the coordinating Grill Die.  Who doesn't love a good cookout and the products today are perfect for Father's Day or for the men in your life who claim to be the "Grill Master!"

Creative Nugget:  Picnics and gingham just seem to go together so the Gingham Background was used to create the layers on this card which was cut with the Center Step Card Die and the Center Step Layers Dies.  The grill is the focus on the center panel and was colored with Copic markers.  Paper from the Blooming Garden Collection was cut with the Grass Hill Die to form the backyard scene and the Fence die cut was added.  Of course the "Grill Master" needs the proper tools which were cut with the Barbecue Tools Dies.  The sentiment was stamped on a Pennant Flag die cut and enamel dots were added to finish the card.

Welcome to the ODBD August 2018 Release

Good morning, friends!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs August 2018 Release.  This month ODBD is all about the medical profession and is perfect for creating those get well cards or for expressing gratitude to those serving in health care.

My first sample was made with the new King of My Heart Stamp/Die Duo.  I l love the heartbeat die included with this set!

Creative Nugget:  The Quilted Background Die was embossed on the card front and a Pierced Heart Die was used to cut the heart from the panel to form the shaker card front.  The die from the King of My Heart Stamp/Die Duo was cut three times, stacked, and adhered across the heart.  The Stethoscope was cut and layered with silver metallic paper.  Layering Hearts die cuts were added to the card front and the sentiment was white embossed on a Double Stitched Pennant Flag die cut.  Stitching was added and the shaker was filled with sequins to finish the card.

My second sample was made with the Get Well Wishes stamp set and the Bandages Dies

Creative Nugget:  The Tri-Fold Card with Layers Dies and papers from the Cozy Quilt Collection were used to make the card base. The Bandages Dies were used to cut the band-aids around the frame of the card.  The sentiment from the Get Well Wishes stamp set was stamped on a Pierced Circle die cut and layered onto a Circle die cut and a Filigree Circle die cut to finish the card.

These new products from the Our Daily Bread Designs Store were used to create the cards above...
