Christmas Dove

Hello friends!  I have several cards using some newer stamp sets from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store that I am sharing on the SNSS Blog and thought I would share here as well.  CAS (Clean and Simple) is a style I struggle with, but this first card using the Peace on Earth stamp set is simply elegant and very easy to reproduce....especially with Christmas closing in on us!

Creative Nugget:  The dove image from the Peace on Earth stamp set and the sentiment from the Christmas Innies set were gold embossed on white card stock.  Spellbinder dies were used to cut the frame and pop up the dove image.  Each panel was matted with gold card stock and a small bow made with gold metallic thread was added to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  The Hope Anchors sentiment was split to fit the design which is the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers this week.  One of the sentiments from the Be Encouraged 2 stamp set was white embossed on vellum.  The papers are from Graphic 45.  The stars found in my stash of embellishments were gold so I covered them with VersaMark ink and silver embossed them to match the anchor.

These card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by...have a wonderful weekend!

Looking Back at the October 2017 Release

Hello friends!  Today we are taking another look at the Our Daily Bread Designs October 2017 Release.  Get ready to see more wonderful fall and Christmas projects created by the Breadstick Designers using the new release products.

My first sample is a Tri-Shutter Card made with the new Be a Sunflower stamp set and the Sunflower Die.

Creative Nugget:  The base for the card was made with the Tri-Shutter Card Die.   Papers from the Follow the Son and Fall Favorites collections were used for the layers cut with the Tri-Shutter Layers Dies making the card a snap to put together.  Sunflowers were stamped with the sunflower image in the Be a Sunflower set, water colored, cut with the coordinating Sunflower Die and used to decorate the panels.  The Grass Border Die and the Grass Hill Dies were used to cut a border along the bottom of the card.

The card opens to reveal two sentiments from the Be a Sunflower set that were embossed on watercolored panels cut and matted with the Rounded Rectangles and Double Stitched Rounded Rectangles dies.

Here is another view to see the sentiments better.

My second sample is a Christmas card using the new Ornament Branch Die.

Creative Nugget: Papers from the Christmas 2015 and Coordinating Christmas 2015 collections were cut with a Pierced Rectangles Die and stitched together to form the card front.  The Ornament Branch Die was cut from water color paper and watercolored using some metallic water colors adding shimmer to the ornaments.  The Ornament Branch was mounted to panels cut with the Rounded Rectangle and Double Stitched Rounded Rectangle dies.  Gold pearls and an organdy bow ties everything together to finish the card.

Feeling Fowl?

Hello friends!  Hope you are feeling better than the subject on my card for today!  Ever seen a pink chick?  I took some artistic license and made my chick pink in keeping with the Ways to Use It Tickled Pink Challenge on Splitcoaststampers today which was to use a pink animal on your card in remembrance of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Creative Nugget:  The background was made by sponging three different colors of Oxide Inks through a stencil...moving the stencil slightly for each of the colors and then spritzing them with water.  The same three colors were splattered on the card front and a circle cut from the panel to make the window for the shaker card.  The same colors were sponged on mixed media paper and the chicken from the Get Well Critters stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps was stamped several times using Black Archival Ink on the paper.  The chicks were fussy cut and popped onto the front of the card.  Sequins and seed beads were used inside the shaker.  The sentiments were white embossed on the hand cut banners.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
Just Us Girls Challenge #415 - Window or Peek-a-Boo Card
Allsorts Challenge Week 437 - Think Pink
Crafting From the Heart Challenge 179 - Anything Goes

Moonlit Christmas

Hello friends!  Just popped in to share a quick Christmas card made with the new Merry Christmas Caps Die by Our Daily Bread Designs.

Creative Nugget:  The night sky was created using Distress Oxide Inks sponged onto a mixed media panel that was cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die.  A mask was cut with a Leafy Edged Border Die and used to sponge snow drifts with some of the same colors in the sky.  The panel was then cut with the Leafy Edged Border Die.  The Merry Christmas Caps Die was used to cut the greeting from the drifts saving all of the little pieces.  The greeting was cut four more times and stacked together with the sponged layer on top.   After adhering the snow drifts to the background, the greeting was popped back into place, filling in all of the little pieces from the die cut.  Sheer ribbon and tiny rhinestones were added to finish the card.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
Just Us Girls Word Week Challenge #414 - Light
ABC Christmas Challenge - U for Unlimited, V for Vibrant

Thanks so much for stopping by...have a wonderful day!

My first sample was made with the new Be a Sunflower stamp set.

Creative Nugget: The Side-Step Card Die made it easy to create the side-step base for this sunflower card.  The panels were layered with papers from the new Follow the Son and Fall Favorites Paper Collections...love these colors!  The sentiments and sunflower images are from the Be a Sunflower stamp set.  They were cut with the new Sunflower Die and the Double Stitched Rounded Rectangles and Rounded Rectangles Dies.  The new Stitched Leaves Dies were used for the leaf accents.  Other Dies used include the Fence Die and the Double Stitched Rectangles Dies.  Copic Markers were used to color the sunflower images!

My second sample uses the Card Greetings stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  As you can tell...I love to use fancy folds for card bases.  The Double Display Card Die and the Double Display Layers Dies make this fancy fold so easy.  The panels were lined with papers from the Christmas 2015 Collection and the new Christmas Coordinating 2015 Collection.  The Beautiful new Merry Christmas Caps Die was cut several times for dimension with the top layer cut from metallic gold card stock.  The sentiment from Card Greetings was embossed and layered on a Double Stitched Rounded Rectangle and matted with a Rounded Rectangle.  The new Pine Branches Dies were used to create an accent tied together with some metallic gold thread.

The card opens up to reveal the beautiful new Ornament Branch die cut.  I used the die to cut the Ornament Branch from different papers, fussy cut the die cuts apart, and pieced them back together using the different colors.  Circle Dies were used to cut coordinating papers to layer behind the gold ornaments.
