And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Merry & Bright

Hello friends!  My Christmas card stash is growing!  I wanted to play around with the new Christmas Bulb Tag Die Set and the Christmas Ornament Tag Die Set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps so pulled out some Gelli print scraps.

Creative Nugget:  Christmas Pines were stamped onto the background panel using different Distress inks.  The panel was matted with black and stitched to a matching piece of Gelli print paper.  The dies were used to cut the ornament and bulb from Gelli print paper and again out of black card stock for a shadow and were then attached to the card with metallic thread.  The embossed sentiment on the bulb is from the new Christmas Tag Sentiments stamp set. A few sequins and gems were added to finish the card.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

ABC Christmas Challenge - T is for Two
Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge #81 - Technique (Wet and Dry Embossing/Stitching)
Love to Scrap Challenge #86 - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by…have a wonderful weekend!

An Apple a Day

Hello friends!  Just popping in with a quick post…the card I have to share today is in honor of Johnny Appleseed Day which was earlier this week…as well as my own birthday.  Since today was my day to host the Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoaststampers, I made it a fruity challenge.

Creative Nugget:  The apple basket from the Apples stamp set by Our Daily Bread Designs took center stage on this MOJO Monday sketch design.  Pierced Circles , Pierced Rectangles, and Circle Dies were used to cut each panel.  The card front was layered with Penny Black papers, and stitching was used to attach the bottom layer. The little tag was cut with a die from the Mini Tags & Labels Die Set.
This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Thanks so much for joining me today!  Enjoy an apple today!

Rise and Shine!

Hello friends and Happy Fall!  What a gorgeous day we had yesterday.  It's finally beginning to feel a little bit like fall…couldn't resist a long walk with DH and Kody!  It's almost time to break out the hot chocolate and tea, but these cards are for all of you coffee drinkers out there.  The stamps, dies, and papers for both of these cards from Our Daily Bread Designs.

Creative Nugget:  Watered down distress inks were used to make the coffee stains and splatters on a piece of mixed media paper.  The panel cut with Pierced Rectangles Dies was split in two…one for the coffee cup made with the Beverage Cup Dies and one for the sentiment from the Rise And Shine stamp set.  Papers from the Ephemera Essentials Paper Pad were used for all of the accents and the card front.  The design for the card was inspired by the MOJO Monday sketch for last week.
A precut and scored Diamond Fold Card was used for the base of this next coffee card.

Creative Nugget:  Each panel on the Diamond Fold Card was lined with fun papers from the Birthday Brights Paper Pad.  The band and the whipped cream from the Beverage Cup Dies can also be used to make a cute cupcake to have along with your coffee.  "HI" was cut three times with the Alphabet Dies, stacked for dimension, and colored with a Wink of Stella pen for some shimmer.

Organdy ribbon tied around the card keeps it closed, but when opened, a sentiment from the I Love Coffee stamp set is revealed.   Layered Lacey Squares and Pierced Squares Dies were used to cut a frame for the sentiment.

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:
MOJO Monday 466
Word Art Wednesday Challenge Week 249 - Anything Goes
Just Us Girls #362 - Photo Week (inspired by the colors)
Crafting From the Heart Challenge 128 - Anything Goes
Pile It On #117 - Autumn Colors/Theme
Try It on Tuesday: Coffee and Cream/2 Colors

Thanks so much for stopping by…have some coffee and enjoy the Lord's Day!

Sweet Feet

Hello, dear friends...Hope you are having a wonderful week! I have a few Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps projects to share with you today beginning with some sweet feet.

Creative Nugget:  Since today is Hobbit Day, Toni challenged us to use feet or toes on a card for the Ways To Use It Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  The little feet from the Little One stamp set came to mind.  The thing that makes these feet so sweet is the little bit of baby powder mixed in with the white embossing powder.  Tombow Markers were scribbled on an acrylic block, spritzed with water, and smeared and splattered onto the card over the embossing, around the edges of each frame, and on the ribbon.  The split sentiment was done by coloring the different parts of the stamp with a black Tombow Marker.  The design for this card is from last week's CAS(E) this Sketch.

Next up is a Christmas card made using a new stamp set designed by Diane Zechman, Poinsettias & Candles.

Creative Nugget:  The design for this card came from this week's Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  All images were colored with Copic Markers.  The poinsettias were fussy cut and the small was one popped onto the larger one for added dimension. Stitching and twine add a finishing touch to the card.

Finally, it was my turn to post on the Creative Worship Blog today, so I thought I would share my Bible Journaling page here as well.  My Creator, designed by Krista Hamerick, was used to create this page and is now back in stock at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store

Creative Nugget:  After downloading a clip art globe and printing it out, I scribbled pencil on the back of the paper, placed the paper pencil side down on my Bible page, and traced the globe.  This left enough of an outline that I could see to trace.  The rest of the page was stamped using My Creator and Outline Alpha.  Because I wanted Jesus to face the opposite direction, I stamped Him on a piece of acetate, turned the acetate ink side down, and pressed the image onto the page.  I was then able to trace Him as well. The page was then water colored with Peerless water colors and a few sequins added.  How awesome that the creator of the universe knows and cares for us!

"O Lord, you have searched me and known me
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it."
(Psalm 139:1-3; 6)
That's all for today!
These projects will be submitted for the following challenges:

Christmas Cheer

Hello friends…happy Friday to you all!  I'm sending you a little Christmas cheer to brighten your day. Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is featuring two new stamp sets designed by Diane Zechman today...Holiday Hugs and Poinsettias & Candles. If you like snowmen and penguins, wait until you see the adorable Holiday Hugs stamp set used for my sample…it's sooooo cute!

Creative Nugget:  Pebbles papers were used to make the background panels for this Mojo Monday sketch design.
The snowman image from the Holiday Hugs set was colored with Copic Markers and a few of the snowflakes were lightly stamped around him with Tumbled Glass Distress ink.  The little horizontal border was cut with a Hillside Edges Die and covered with Crystal Snow for added sparkle.  Crystal Snow was also added  on the drift under the snowman.  Stitching, Wink of Stella, glitter dots, and gems add to the sparkle and finish the card.

Here are both of the stamp sets being featured today and the Hillside Edges Die available at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store:
Be sure to check out the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Face Book page for more amazing cards samples that will be posted throughout the day using these new stamp sets!

Take Another Look at the ODBD September 2016 Release

Hello friends!  Today we are taking another look at the Our Daily Bread Designs September 2016 Release.  Although it's still pretty warm here, fall is on the way and these fabulous creations by the Bread Stick Designers will help to usher in the season.

Here is my card using Seasons Change:
Creative Nugget:  The mitered frame was made with strips of paper from the Blooming Garden Collection layered onto a Neenah panel cut with the Flourished Star Pattern Die and the center cut with one of the Double Stitched Rectangles Dies.  There were four triangles of paper left over after cutting the strips which were used for the mat…I like how you can see part of them inside the corners of the frame.  The wheelbarrow from the Seasons Change stamp set was colored with Copic Markers and cut with the coordinating Wheelbarrow Die.  The "thanks" sentiment was stamped on a Log Cabin Quilt die cut and framed with a Filigree Frames die cut.  Blooming Garden Paper was cut with the Grass Hill Die and added under the wheelbarrow.  A little twine was added to finish the card.

Here are the stamps and dies from ODBD used
to make this card:

SNSS Features Christmas

Hello friends!  Last month Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps added nine new stamp sets to the store for 2016.  This week we are featuring the two Christmas stamp sets designed by Korin.  Love both of these sets and have been having loads of fun adding to my Christmas card stash for this year!

My first card uses the new Christmas Pine set along with Music to My Ears and Celebrate the Savior.
Creative Nugget:  The design for this card is the Mojo Monday sketch for this week.  The music score, the pines, and the pinecones were white embossed on Kraft card stock and either sponged or colored with Copic Markers.  A piece of designer paper from my stash was added behind the pines along with a Scallop Border.  The sentiment  from Celebrate the Savior was clear embossed over Crumb Cake ink.  A few splatters of acrylic paint and some twine finish the card.
Here is a previously posted card using the same Christmas Pine stamp set:

My next three cards were all made with the Scripture Tree stamp set.
Creative Nugget:  The Scripture Tree was white embossed on mixed media paper.  Tombow Markers were scribbled onto an acrylic block, spritzed with water, and smeared over the embossing.  This is becoming one of my favorite techniques for creating a water colored look!  The mats were created the same way.  The panel was then sprayed with Art Anthology Gilded Gold Shimmer Mist.  Stitching, metallic thread, and gems were added to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  Diagonals were scored onto a piece of mixed media paper.  Tombow Markers were again used to water color over the scored lines.  A tree shape was hand drawn and cut from the center of the panel and the edges sponged with Hickory Smoke distress ink.  This was popped up onto the Scripture Tree which had been embossed using Hologram Highlights Embossing Powder.  This really sparkles IRL!  Sequins, gems, and metallic thread were added to finish the card.

Now for a very different look!
Creative Nugget:  The Music to My Ears background was stamped onto Neenah card stock and mounted to the card base.  The Scripture Tree was black embossed and a reverse mask was created to mask off the area around the tree.  Post-It notes were used to mask each line on the tree and sponged with distress inks.  Splatters of black acrylic paint were added as well as a black sequin and gem to finish the card for a more masculine look.

These stamp sets from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store were used to create all of these cards:

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

Seasons Change

Hello, dear friends!  It's been very hot and humid here, so staying inside where it's air conditioned and stamping is a great way to pass the time!  The cooler temperatures of fall are on the way.  I think that Autumn may just be my favorite season…but, don't hold me to that come spring!

Creative Nugget:  My fall card was created with new stamps and dies by Our Daily Bread Designs.  The Seasons Change image was colored with Copic Markers and the papers from the Blooming Garden Paper Collection were cut with the Flourished Star Pattern Die and Pierced Rectangles Dies.  The new Wheelbarrow Die was used to perfectly cut the image and the Grass Hill Die was used to ground the wheelbarrow.  Mixed Media paper was used to make a small panel for the embossed sentiment.  A Tombow marker was scribbled onto an acrylic block, spritzed with water, and smooshed onto the card several times, drying between layers to build up the color.  The Honeycomb Mini stamp was colored with a darker Tombow marker, dabbed with a baby wipe to remove some of the ink, spritzed with water, and stamped onto the panel…almost a perfect match!  The panel was then cut with a Pierced Square Die.  A little stitching, twine, and a few enamel dots were added to finish the card.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
Splitcoaststampers - WT600
Crafty Girls Creations - Challenge 25
A Gem of a Challenge #177 - Ribbon, Lace, or Twine
Crafting From the Heart #126 - Anything Goes
ODBD Shining the Light Challenge 278 - Dots or Dashes

Thanks so much for stopping by…have a blessed day!

Hello

Hello friends!  It's my turn to share on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog and thought I'd share here as well.  First is a little "Hello" made with the Keep in Touch stamp set for the Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoaststampers yesterday as well as the Mojo Monday Sketch.

Creative Nugget:  White, black, and pink sponging, stamping, and card stock were used with the Keep in Touch stamp set to create this card.  Typewriter Text was used on the background and the Classy Script Alpha was used to stamp "hello."  Alphabet sets are ideal for creating the perfect sentiment for your card and SNSS has so many fabulous alphabet sets from which to choose!  There's just a little bit of the Flower Pattern Background at the bottom of the narrow vertical panel.   A few gems were colored with Copic Markers and added to the card.

Can you believe that it's time to earnestly begin working on Christmas cards?  My second card uses one of Krita Hamrick's new stamp sets, Receive the Savior.

Creative Nugget:  A Brown Tombow Marker was used to color the outline image from the Receive the Savior stamp set which was stamped on a piece of Mixed Media paper.  A water color brush was used to pull the brown ink into the image.  Other Tombow colors were scribbled onto an acrylic block, picked up with the brush, and painted onto the image as well.  The background panel was created with the same Tombow markers applied to an acrylic block, spritzed with water, and smeared onto another piece of mixed media paper.  I even found some non-traditional Christmas papers in my stash that were a perfect match for a few of the layers!

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

My thoughts and prayers are for the people along the coast, especially in Florida.
Thanks so much for stopping by…have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

Cathymac

My first sample was made using the new Rise And Shine stamp set stamp set and Beverage Cup Dies.

Creative Nugget:  Papers from the Cozy Quilt Collection were used for the panels on this card while Pierced Rectangles Dies and Double Stitched Rectangles Dies were used to cut them.  The Art Deco Die was used to border the horizontal panel, and the Filigree Frame Die was modified and used to frame the top layer.  The sentiment from the Rise and Shine stamp set was embossed on a label and mat cut with the Layered Lacy Ovals Die and an Ovals Die.  The new Beverage Cup Dies were used to make the lemonade and milk shake..SWEET!  Seam binding, Glossy Accents, and Wink of Stella were added to finish the card.

My shaker card was made with the new I Love Coffee stamp set and Beverage Cup Dies.

Creative Nugget:  The coffee bean from one of the sentiments in the Rise and Shine stamp set was colored with Tombow Markers and stamped repeatedly on the background.  The main panel is watercolored and splattered with ink from a Tombow Marker.  All of the layers are cut with Pierced Rectangles Dies.  The coffee rings were made by pressing the bottom of a plastic container into watered down ink and stamping it onto the card.  One of the sentiments from the I Love Coffee stamp set was very lightly stamped over the background and one of the sentiments was embossed on the card front.  The opening for the shaker was cut with a Circles Die and the matt, a Pierced Circles Die. Paper from the Ephemera Essentials Collection was used for the back of the shaker and the band on the Beverage Cup.  The best part are the real coffee beans inside the shaker…mmmm!  Although I do not like coffee, I do love the smell of it and this card smells heavenly! A little seam binding and several pearls were added.
