Jesus Paid It All

Hello friends!  I hope you are having a wonderful Easter weekend.  I cannot wrap my mind around all that Jesus did for me when he died on the cross, but his love for all of us caused him to pay the ultimate sacrifice, to lay down his life for us.  While we hated and despised him, and while we were yet sinners, he died for us.  (Romans 5:8)  My hope lies in the fact that he is no longer in the tomb…Sunday is coming!

Creative Nugget:  The design for my Easter card is from the Mojo Monday sketch for this week.  The Typewriter Text Background was clear embossed on the background and the Smackin' Acetate Technique with Tombow markers was used to add the pink, yellow, and purple colors to all three layers.  The text was lightly stamped on the middle panels using Hickory Smoke Distress ink. Deep Purple Archival ink was used to stamp the Jesus Paid It All image of Calvary.  A Basic Grey panel and dyed silk ribbon were added to finish the card.

The stamp sets used for this card can be found at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps also just released their newest Creative Worship Bible Journaling Note This Kit yesterday.  I had a lot of fun using the new Note This stamp set designed by Rebecca Rios!

Creative Nugget:  Acrylic blocks were painted with heavy body acrylic paints, spritzed with water, and applied to the page which had been prepped with two light coats of Gel Mat Medium.  (If you try this, be sure to clean the paint off the blocks right away.)  Elements from the stamp set were stamped using Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored with a White Sharpie Paint Pen.  Other sets used for this page are the All of Me Alpha, Squiggle Banners, Decorative Banners, and Words of Life: Common Words 1.  I also tried a little hand lettering for the words in the banners.

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me."  (John 14:6 NKJV)

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards #105 - Use Ribbon
A Gem of a Challenge #165 - Easter

Thanks so much for stopping by…have a blessed day!

Looking Back at the ODBD March 2016 Release

Welcome, my friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs March 2016 Release.  Oh my lucky stars and keys will be featured as you hop along to the different Bread Stick Designers today.

My sample today uses the wonderful new Key to Happiness stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  I found this Gelli print in my stash and thought it looked like an old wall or door so the door from the Ask, Seek, Knock set was stamped on the print using Jet Black Archival ink.  The sentiment from Key to Happiness was black embossed on a scrap piece as well.  The stones around the door were colored with Copic Markers to match the colors of the Gelli print.  Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, the Flourished Star Pattern Die, and Filigree Frames Dies were used to cut each of the panels.  A key ring and keys were cut using the Keys Dies, covered with Glossy Accents, and hung on the door.  Seam binding and black pearls were added to finish the card.

Here are the new products from the
Our Daily Bread Designs Store used to make this card…

Loved and Cherished

Hello friends!  I'm sure there are many people in your life that you love and cherish and who love and cherish you. The one who loves and cherishes you most is Jesus!  We will be celebrating that fact this Sunday.  Easter is evidence of the fact that you are loved and cherished.  Jesus died to cover our sins and rose again, conquering death, and giving us hope beyond the grave!

Creative Nugget: Sketch 585 from Splitcoaststampers today was used for the design of this card.  A new Bible journaling stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Words of Life: Collection 3, was used for the wonderful message on this card and was stamped on a piece of Penny Black paper.  The stamp sets in the Creative Worship line are perfect for card-making as well as Bible journaling!  The Precious Poppies were colored with Copic Markers.  The panels were stitched to Smokey Shadow card stock and a dyed silk ribbon ties everything together.

This card will be sent to a very dear prayer warrior from our church who is going through a very difficult time right now.  I hope it blesses and encourages her.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
Crafting From the Heart #104 - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for visiting with me today…remember:  You are loved and cherished!

Hope Feathers

Hello everyone!  Happy Spring!  Yea…it's the first day of spring and I see buds on our magnolia tree!  Hope springs eternal thanks to our Lord and Savior!  I have two quick cards to share with you today using one of the new Creative Worship stamp sets by Sweet 'n Sassy StampsHis Wings.

Creative Nugget:  The feathers from the His Wings set were stamped randomly on a piece of mixed media paper and then the Smackin' Acetate Technique was used to watercolor the background.  Each of the Tombow colors were dried before the next color was added.  The feathers were also stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink over a watercolored scrap and white embossed on vellum, fussy cut, and tied together in the corner of the card.  The sentiment is from the Choose Faith stamp set and was watercolored with the same colors of Tombow Markers used on the background.  A little bird die cut found in my stash was added to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  The Peacock feather from the His Wings set was stamped in rainbow colors across the front panel of this CAS card.  The sentiment is a sneak peek from the next Creative Worship Kit being released this Friday at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  This kit is amazing so be sure to check the SNSS Blog this Friday, March 25th for the details!

These SNSS sets were used to create both cards:

Here is my first sample for the Anniversary Release:

Creative Nugget:  Using the beautiful new Filigree Frames and Lavish Layers dies makes it easy to design gorgeous cards especially since they coordinate so well with the Rectangle and Double Stitched Rectangle Dies.  Papers from the Ephemera Essentials Collection were used for several of the layers.  One of the versatile sentiments from Faith Card Sentiments was used on this sample.  The stargazer lilies from the Beauty set were colored with Copic Markers and cut with the matching Lily Die.  Some Fancy Foliage was placed behind the lilies and a silk ribbon accent added to finish the card.

My second sample uses the new Grace's Hope stamp set:

Creative Nugget:  Easter Card Collection 2016 and Pastels Papers were cut with the Lavish Layers Dies and layered onto blush card stock.  The sentiments from Grace's Hope were embossed with Liquid Platinum Powder as was the heart from the Bless Your Heart set and the butterfly from the Butterfly and Bugs set.  Both hearts were cut with the Ornate Hearts Dies and the butterfly was cut with the Butterfly and Bugs Die.  A Double Stitched Rectangle Die and a Double Stitched Star Die were used to make the banner for the HOPE sentiment.  Stitching and silk ribbon were used to finish the card.

Welcome to the ODBD March 2016 Release

Hello friends!  It's time for the Our Daily Bread Designs March 2016 Release!  Our Daily Bread Designs is releasing two versatile new stamp sets that can be used all year long and some wonderful dies that can be used with the new stamp sets.

Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until March 2, 2016 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments on the Designers' Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on March 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

My first sample was made using the Superstar stamp set and some of the new dies.

Creative Nugget:  The background paper on the front of the card was cut with the Flourished Star Pattern Die.  Double sided paper was used to create the pleated skirt which was stitched onto the bottom of the card.  You can find a tutorial for the pleated skirt HERE under the Tutorials Tab on Splitcoaststampers.  The sentiment from the fun new Superstar stamp set was embossed and sponged on a panel that was cut with the new Double Stitched Square Dies.  The star frame was cut from the Sparkling Stars and new Double Stitched Star Dies.  A few other stars cut with the Sparkling Star Dies were covered with Glossy Accents and scattered on the card.  Twine was dyed and tied across the pleats to finish the card

For my second sample, a door was created on a Double Display Card to complement the new Key to Happiness stamp set.

Creative Nugget:   Rustic papers were impressed with a woodgrain pattern and used to line each of the panels on the Double Display Card.  The door panels were cut with the new Squares and Double Stitched Squares Dies and the previously released Rectangles and Double Stitched Rectangles Dies.   The sentiment from Key to Happiness and the mat were cut with the Circles and Double Stitched Circles Dies.  The new Keys Dies were used to cut all of the keys on the card, some of which were also embossed.  Some of the Liquid Platinum embossing powder was rubbed off prior to heating to give a more rustic look.

The double doors open to reveal the inside of the card.  Keys were hung from key rings on the side panels.  Another sentiment from Key to Happiness was embossed and matted with one of the Layered Lacey Squares.  The Gilded Gate was embossed and adorned with some of the Bitty Blossoms and Lovely Leaves.

Here are the beautiful new products being released by
Our Daily Bread Designs this month that were used to make these projects…
