Looking Back at the ODBD February 2016 Release

Welcome, my friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs February 2016 Release.  Easter is early this year so I used some of the ODBD new products to make an Easter card.

My sample today uses the beautiful Flourished Happy Easter stamp.

Creative Nugget:  Flourished Happy Easter was embossed with Liquid Platinum embossing powder and the panel cut with one of the Layered Lacey Square Dies.  Each panel was made using the Easter Card Collection 2016 and Pastel Paper Packs and were matted with orchid card stock following the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week.  Decorative Corners were added under the sentiment panel as well as a silk bow.  The flowers were cut with the new Bitty Blossoms and Fancy Foliage Dies.  Pearls were added to the centers of the flowers.

Here are the new products from the
Our Daily Bread Designs Store used to make this card…

…and some old favorites:

Some Bunny Loves You

Hello friends!  With Valentine's Day right around the corner I couldn't resist all the lovely challenges out there to inspire a card for my hubby.

Creative Nugget:  Pink and red Kuretake watercolors were splattered and dripped onto a piece of watercolor paper to create the background.  Three strips of washi tape were added and a heart cut using a Spellbinders Heart Nestie.  The adorable bunny was inspired by the Ways To Use It challenge on Splitcoaststampers to use something that skips, hops, jumps or LEAPS and is from the Valentine Critters stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  The bunny was colored with Copic Markers and cut with the matching Valentine Critters Die.  The design of the card was inspired by the (CAS)E This Sketch Challenge which I will be getting in just under the wire!

The colors were inspired by The Card Concept challenge for this week.  I used the clean and layered style for my card.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use It - WT570
(CAS)E This Sketch - CTS #158
The Card Concept #48 - Sweet Hearts
Aud Sentiments #148 - Use a Love Sentiment
Through the Craft Room Door (Feb 9-15) - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for visiting...hope you were inspired!

Just Tape It!

Hello friends…happy Friday!

Is there a day that goes by that you don't use some kind of tape…packing tape, scotch tape, duct tape, masking tape…oh, and don't forget that washi tape?  I have two cards using two different kinds of tape to share with you today.

Creative Nugget:  Where's the tape on this card?  The distress inks (Fossilized Amber, Orange Marmalade, Abandoned Coral, Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean, and Tumbled Glass) were applied with masking tape.  Water was dropped on the horizon so the blues would blend and drip down the card front. The image and the sentiment come from one of my favorite stamp sets by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps…The Sea.

Now for a little bit of washi tape!
Creative Nugget:  Washi tape was applied on the diagonal for the side panel.  The hearts from the Grunge Elements 2 stamp set were clear embossed and Color Burst powders were spritzed with water to create the background.  There's Cocoa popping out to send a little love from the Cocoa Sends Love digital stamp set.

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by…have an inspiring Friday!

Both of my samples were made with several of the new products being released this month!

Creative Nugget:  The background panel was made by white embossing the Easter Egg Background on Neenah card stock and randomly sponging distress inks to cover the whole panel.  The center was cut out with a Double Stitched Rectangle Die, embossed with the Boho Background Die, stitched to white card stock, and mounted back in place.  The Flourished Happy Easter was clear embossed with VersaMark and Milled Lavender Distress ink, cut with a Double Stitched Rectangle Die, and stitched to a piece of paper from the Pastel Paper Pack.  Two of the Ornamental Crosses Dies were used to create the layered cross.  White ribbon ties everything together.

My next sample was made with the new Easter Basket Dies and Easter Eggs Dies.
Creative Nugget:   The Easter Egg Background was white embossed on a piece of paper from the Easter Card Collection 2016.  The Leafy Edged Border Die and the Grass Border Die were used to create the foreground from Pastel and Blushing Rose papers.  The basket from the Basket of Blessing stamp set was colored with Copic Markers and cut with the Easter Basket Die.   Easter Eggs Dies and papers from both of the new paper collections were used to fill the basket with Easter eggs and flowers. Double Stitched Circle Dies were used to cut the little tag which was embossed with one of the sentiments from the Basket of Blessings stamp set.  A bow and some pearls were added to finish the card.
