And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Noel

Hello friends!  Just a quick card to share made for today's Featured Stamper on Splitcoaststampers, Susie Nelson. The inspiration for this card came from two of the cards in Susie's GalleryTHIS one and THIS one.

Creative Nugget:  This card came together very quickly…just stitched together four paper patterns from the Christmas Collection 2013 by Our Daily Bread Designs.  The Noel Ornament was stamped and clear embossed on Linen card stock.  The Circle Ornament Dies and the Matting Circle Dies were used to cut out the ornament and the Lovely Leaves Dies were used to make the foliage topper.  That's it…and another Christmas card is finished!

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
Crafting From the Heart #87 - Anything Goes
Double Click - Christmas
Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge - Embossing

Thanks so much for stopping by…have a blessed Lord's Day!

Hugs,
Cathy

Delightful Poinsettia

Hello, Friends!  Popping in to share a quick card made for the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog yesterday using the sketch from Splitcoaststampers for this week…another Christmas card to add to my stash for this year!

Less than two weeks remains for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps to celebrate their 8th birthday…hope you've been able to participate in all the fun!  For all the fun details, check out the SNSS Blog!  My card was made with yesterday's Throwback Feature…

Creative Nugget:  After white embossing the Delightfully Delicate Background, Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles, and Worn Lipstick Distress inks were sponged over the embossing.  The Poinsettia was stamped twice, sponged, and cut to be popped up and layered onto the card.  The Delightfully Delicate Background was lightly stamped on the top layer of the Poinsettia with Worn Lipstick ink. The sentiment from Christmas Innies was stamped in the bottom corner.  Prills and a silk bow were added to finish the card.  The Delightfully Delicate Background is perfect for adding just the right bit of texture to your stamping project.

Looking Back at the ODBD November 2015 Release

Welcome, my friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs November 2015 Release.  Get ready to feast your eyes on some beautiful Christmas projects the fabulous Breadstick Designers have prepared for you today using the new November stamps and dies from Our Daily Bread Designs!

The new Born This Day stamp set was used to create this Twisted Easel card.

Creative Nugget:  After creating the Twisted Easel card fold, black card stock and papers from the Christmas Collection 2014 were mounted to each panel along with a piece of sponged Neenah Solar Crest paper cut with one of the Layered Lacey Square Dies. Mixed Media paper was sprinkled with Bister pigment powders and spritzed liberally with water.  The Bister colors contain granules of brown and sepia which produce a more aged and vintage look than some of the other pigment powders that are available.  When dry, Born This Day was stamped over the panel with Jet Black Archival inks.  The new Small Bow Dies and Lovely Leaves Dies were used to create a corner accent for the card front.  Some loopy twine was placed under the bow and a rhinestone placed on the star burst to finish the card.

Here is the Twisted Easel card opened.  The inside panel was layered the same as the front.  The Babe was stamped, colored, and cut with Matting Circle Dies and popped up onto the corner to hold the easel open.

One of the sentiments from The Babe was stamped in the upper corner to finish the inside of the card.

Here are the new products from the Our Daily Bread Designs Store used to make this card...

Heartfelt Christmas

Hello Friends!  It's my turn to post a card on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog in honor of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps 8th birthday party celebration so I thought I would share here as well.  The Bottom of my Heart stamp set is being featured today so it was used to create my sample.

Creative Nugget:  I cannot take credit for the design of this card because I saw something similar on Face Book, but I knew that the Bottom of My Heart stamp set would be perfect for CASEing the idea.  The heart image was stamped repeatedly on some Gelli Plate mono prints I had made at a recent class and cut with the coordinating Heart Die.  They were arranged in the shape of a Christmas tree.  The little hearts were also cut from the same paper using the Hearts Border Die.  One of the sentiments from Bottom of My Heart was stamped at the base of the card and helps to ground the tree.  The "Merry Christmas" sentiment is from the Christmas Puppy stamp set and was cut with one of the Banner Dies.  A bow was made from some metallic thread and added along with a few gemstones to finish the card!

Here is the Bottom of My Heart stamp set...

Christmas Peace

Hello Friends!  With Christmas only six weeks away,  it's time to really ramp up the Christmas card production!  The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Sketch Challenge for this week provided the perfect opportunity to add to my stash for this year!

Creative Nugget:  The stamps and dies used on this card are all from Our Daily Bread Designs.  The new Snowflake Border Background and the sentiment from the Christmas Blessings stamp set were both white embossed on a piece of paper from the Christmas Collection 2014 paper pad.  The snowflake panel was cut with the Boho Background Die.  The other two panels were cut from patterns included in same paper pad.  All panels were matted with Kraft card stock.  One of the dies from the Layered Lacey Squares die set was used to mat the sentiment.  Love the new Pinecones Dies and the Lovely Leaves Dies, and these were used to make the pinecone spray which was added along with some twine to finish the card.

This card will be entered in the following challenges:

As always…thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day!

Creative Nugget:  The background panels for my card were made with pigment powders, stencils and baby wipes at a recent Color Burst class taken at a local stamp store.  The left panel was stitched to a scalloped edge cut with one of the dies from the Bookmarks & More Die Set.  The banner girl from the Worship the Lord stamp set was colored with copic markers and hand cut into a banner shape.  A white paint pen was used to draw flowers on her dress to mimic the flowers on the background.  The sentiments are from the Script Birthday and Mini Tags stamp sets. A Gingham bow was added to finish the card.  I love how the stamp sets in the Bible Journaling line can be used to make cards for any occasion.

Everything's Turning Up Gold!

Hello friends!  Metallics seem to be a current trend, especially gold, so my card for today was made for several gold challenges and of course to add to my Christmas stash!

Creative Nugget:  Freshly Made Sketch 211 was used for the design of this card and the colors came from the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Color Challenge for this week.  The new Flourished Merry Christmas stamp by ODBD was masked, stamped repeatedly, and gold embossed on the card front.  A circle was cut from the side and a little gold frame made using the Circle Ornament and Matting Circle Dies.  The card front was popped up onto a Boho Background die cut and some Christmas Collection 2015 paper.  The poinsettia was made with the Peaceful Poinsettia, Merry Mosaics, and Lovely Leaves Dies.  All of the gold on this card was embossed so everything matches.  Metallic gold thread and gold pearls were added to finish the card.
(Links to the products used will be added when the web site is back up.)

The shine of the gold can be seen a little better with this view.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by...Hope you were inspired to create something gold!

Welcome to the ODBD November 2015 Release

Hello friends!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs November 2015 Release!   It's not too late to add to your Christmas card stash for this year and with the stamps and dies being released by Our Daily Bread Designs this month, you will be able to do just that!  Get ready to see some gorgeous Christmas creations from the talented Breadstick Designers!

Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until November 2, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments on the Designers' Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on November 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

Both of my samples were made with several of the new products being released this month!
Creative Nugget:  The Snowflake Border Background was white embossed on white card stock and sponged with several pink shades of distress inks before cutting a panel with the large rectangle from the Flourished Star Pattern die set.  The borders on the Born This Day stamp were masked to fit the verse on a strip of Kraft card stock which was matted in pink and stitched to the snowflake background.  Pieces of white and pink card stocks were cut with a Leafy Edged Border Die and mounted to the bottom of the card.  The card front was matted in pink and mounted to a white card base.  A small pink bow made with the Small Bow Dies were added and the card embellished with poinsettias made with both the Peaceful Poinsettia and Merry Mosaics dies along with some foliage from the Lovely Leaves Dies.  A little corner was cut using an Ornate Borders and Flower Die.  Pearls and a bit of Stickles were added to finish the card.

This photo shows the sparkle a little better:
Creative Nugget:  I have recently taken a Gelli Print class at a local stamp store and the background on this card was made using several layers of acrylic paints and stencils on a Gelli Plate during that class.  The colors and swirls reminded me of a snowstorm, so I white embossed the Snowflake Border Background on it and cut the panel using the Flourished Star Pattern Die.  The Merry Christmas Dies were used to cut the sentiment from the middle of the panel and all the little pieces saved to piece back into the negative die space after adhering the panel to a piece of turquoise card stock.  The dies were cut five times from white card stock and stacked on top of each other with the top layer being embossed with Clear Sparkle embossing powder.   A strip of pink card stock was added for contrast along with a matching bow made with the Small Bow Dies.  The bow was embellished with sparkly foliage cut with the Lovely Leaves Dies.   Some Sparkling Snowflakes were white embossed on the Gelli Plate paper and cut with the matching Snowflake Dies.  These were randomly added along with some rhinestones to finish the card.
