Taking a Look Back at the ODBD October 2015 Mid-Month Release

Welcome, my friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs October 2015 Mid-Month Release.  The Christmas stamps and dies as well as the beautiful Christmas Card Collection 2015 paper pack released by Our Daily Bread Designs in the middle of October were so gorgeous and perfect for finishing off those holiday cards as you will see as you hop to each of the Breadstick Designers' blogs!

My first card sample today uses the new O Holy Night Background stamp.

Creative Nugget:  The O Holy Night Background was clear embossed on Vintage Cream card stock and sponged with Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap, and Ground Espresso distress inks. Two rectangles cut with Spellbinders Nesties were cut from the embossed panel, matted with red card stock, and popped back into place with some dyed seam binding attached between two of the layers.  The red layers of the poinsettia were cut with the Peaceful Poinsettia Dies while the top lacy layers were cut with the new Merry Mosaics Dies and sponged with the distress inks. One of the Pennant Dies was adapted to fit the sentiment from the Peaceful Deer stamp set.  A little silk bow and some rhinestones finish the card.

There's no stamping at all on my second card thanks to the new Christmas Card Collection 2015 paper pack!

Creative Nugget:   Panels were cut from the Christmas Card Collection 2015 paper pad to fit the front of an A2 sized card.  The pieces were matted with black card stock and stitched to a gold card front which was mounted to a Vintage Cream card base. Gold ribbon was wrapped around the card and a poinsettia made with both the Peaceful Poinsettia and Merry Mosaics Dies.  A gold bow and some gold pearls were added.  Easy Peasy!

Taking Another Look at ODBD October 2015 Release

Welcome, my friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs October 2015 Release.  Get ready to feast your eyes on the beautiful Christmas projects the fabulous Breadstick Designers have prepared for you today using the new October stamps and dies from Our Daily Bread Designs!

Here is my sample using some of the new products released on October 1st:
Creative Nugget:  The beautiful Leafy Edged Borders Dies and papers from the Christmas Collection 2015 were used to create the panels for the front of the card which were then stitched together, cut with the Flourished Star Pattern Die, and mounted to the card base.  The sentiment from the Christmas Carols stamp set was inked with VersaMark first then a rich purple ink to clear emboss it on the bottom of the card.  The same was done on a scrap piece of Vintage Cream card stock using green ink.  The little "NEWBORN" banner was fussy cut and popped onto the sentiment on the card for some contrast.  The Elegant Embellishments ornament was clear embossed three times, sponged with green ink, and cut with the matching Elegant Embellishments Die.  The Flourished Alphabet was used to emboss the letters for the word "JOY" on the ornaments.  The ornaments were hung with gold metallic thread and decorated with a little greenery and a bow cut with the new Windowsill Candles Dies to finish the card.

Here are the new products from Our Daily Bread Designs used to make this card...

Welcome to the SNSS October Release

Hello friends!  Welcome to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps October 2015 Release and Blog Hop!  SNSS has added four new stamp sets and five new products from the October Sweet Perks Club to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store that are perfect for card making, Bible art journaling, and so much more.  Just wait until you see all the gorgeous projects prepared just for you by the talented Design Divas.

My first sample used the gorgeous new Winter Blessings stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  The large Background image was white embossed on a piece of mixed media paper before applying the distress inks using the wrinkle-free distress technique.  The same colors were used to create another piece without the embossing. The center of the embossed panel was cut out and the frame mounted to a piece of blue card stock.  The smaller snowflake images were stamped on the other panel without the embossing using the same colors of distress ink.  This panel was stitched inside the frame.  The sentiment strip was added along with some dyed seam binding.

$26.95
This background is perfect for creating wintery scenes or just add a wintery blessing and send your card on its way.
My second sample is actually a Bible Journal Page.

Creative Nugget: The Bible page was prepped with two coats of clear gesso before watered down distress inks were dabbed onto the page with a piece of acetate.  Images and words from the new Name Above All Names and Message of Hope stamp sets were stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink.  A wet paint brush was used to remove the distress inks from the everlasting cross and dove images so they could be colored.  Prismacolor Pencils were used to color the dove and the cross was watercolored with distress inks.  Wink of Stella and a white paint pen were used to add accents.

$19.95
Not only is this darling stamp set perfect for Bible journaling, but think of the fabulous Christmas cards that can be made with the wonderful images!
$19.95
The words in this versatile stamp set can be combined to create many different Bible verses that can be used in your Journaling Bibles.  Many of the Sweet 'n Sassy stamp sets you already have can be used to illustrate the verse.

My first sample uses the Perfect Light Stamp set and the cute Windowsill Candles Dies.
Creative Nugget: My favorite Boho Background Die was embossed on the first layer of the card.  The panels were created by matting papers from the Christmas Card Collection 2015 with scarlet and gold card stock.  The beautiful Leafy Edged Border Dies were used to make the valence panel at the top.  A sentiment from the Perfect Light stamp set was gold embossed on a Stitched Oval die cut and matted with an Oval cut from scarlet card stock.  A windowsill cut with the Flower Box Fillers Die provides a place for the Windowsill Candles which were cut twice, once from Vintage Cream card stock and once from gold.  Extra leaves were cut for added texture and matching gold seam binding added to finish the card.

My second sample is a Book Fold card.
Creative Nugget:  The front of the Book Fold was made by stamping the O Holy Night Background stamp in Versafine ink and clear embossing it directly on paper from the Christmas Card Collection 2015 pack.  Ornaments on the tree were colored with Copic Markers and covered with Glossy Accents.  A tag from the Christmas Card Collection 2015 was cut with the matching Mini Tag Die along with the little heart charm.  These were tied to the card front with dyed silk ribbon and gold metallic thread.

A night time scene was created on the inside of the Book Fold card to go along with the O Holy Night music score on the front of the card.
Creative Nugget:  The inside panels were lined with paper from both the Christmas Card Collection 2015 and the Christmas Collection 2015 and matted with black and gold card stock.  Stars from the Shine On stamp set were gold embossed on black card stock and splatters of white acrylic paint added.  The windows were cut with the Welcoming Window Dies and sponging added while still in the die to highlight the embossing.   The Windowsill Candles were cut from gold paper and the little bows added to finish the inside of the card.

Color Burst and Silhouettes

Hello friends!  Today is my turn to host the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  I was able to pick up some Color Burst pigments over the weekend and wanted to try them out…how vibrant the colors are!  They work perfectly with silhouette images and this beautiful We Three Kings silhouette by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps was tailor-made for this medium.  Not only that…another Christmas card was added to my stash for this year!

Creative Nugget:  Spritzed a piece of mixed media card stock with water leaving the bottom corner dry.  Sprinkled on the Color Burst pigments…a tiny speck goes a long way... and watched the magic as the colors spread and mixed together.  Kept spritzing and adding color to achieve the desired result.  The sentiment and the image were stamped with Archival Jet Black ink.  Some silk ribbon was dyed with color that was left over on my craft mat providing a perfect match for my card.

"When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.  And when they had come to the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshipped Him.  And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh."
Matthew 2:10-11 (NKJV)

Here is the stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps used to make this card:

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Pile It On # 89 - 1, 2, 3 Recipe  (1 sentiment, 2 palm trees on the image, 3 Wise Men.)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Praying for those in North and South Carolina!

Cathymac

My first sample uses the new Elegant Embellishments stamp set and matching Elegant Embellishments Dies.

Creative Nugget:  Papers from the Christmas Collection 2015 were matted with deep red card stock and adhered to the Vintage Cream card base.  The scene outside the window was sponged with Distress inks and stamped with the tree from the North Coast Creations Deer Silhouette Greetings stamp set.  Snowdrifts made with the Leafy Edged Borders were added.  The windowsill was cut with the Welcoming Window Dies.  The hanging ornaments were stamped with the Elegant Embellishments stamp set and cut with the matching Elegant Embellishments Dies.  The top layer of each was covered with VersaMark ink and embossed with Clear Sparkle Embossing Glitter.  Fancy Foliage Dies and the Peaceful Poinsettia Dies were used to make the swag on the windowsill. Finally, the topper was cut with the Leafy Edged Border Dies.

My second sample was made with the pretty Adore Him Die.

Creative Nugget:  The background for this card was made with papers from the Christmas Collection 2014 and the Leafy Edged Borders stitched to light pink card stock.  The Layered Lacy Square Die was modified with partial die cutting to make the frame for the pretty Adore Him die cut which is actually five layers glued together for dimension.  The top layer of the Adore Him die cut was embossed with Clear Sparkle Glitter.  The Elegant Embellishments ornament was stamped on Vintage Cream card stock with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and fussy cut.  The matching Elegant Embellishments Die was used to cut a mat for the ornament out of the light pink card stock.  The ornament was also embossed with Clear Sparkle Glitter.  Some twine and colored rhinestones were added to finish the card.
