Feeling Fowl?

Hello friends!  Does all the freezing weather and snow have you feeling fowl?  Here's a cute card to help you feel better!

Creative Nugget:  Now don't you just feel like smiling!  This adorable wounded chick is part of the new Sweet Perks Bundle, Get Well Critters, by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  There are dies to match the images in the stamp set, but they have not arrived yet, so I just colored the chick with Copic Markers,  fussy cut it, and popped it up for dimension.  Since this little guy is teeny, less than 2", I will submit it for the Free 4 All Challenge today on Splitcoaststampers which is to mask off an area of less than 2 1/2" or use a die cut shape for a teeny image.  The design of the card was taken from this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch.

Here is the fun bundle being offered at a discount until
February 5th at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.

This is the Sweet Sunday Sketch used for the card design!

Thanks so much for stopping by…stay warm and healthy!

A CASE of Angela

Hello friends…it's a snowy day here in the northeast which gave me a chance to stay in and do some stamping.  I have two quick cards to share…both challenges on Splitcoaststampers and both made with stamps and dies from the Our Daily Bread Designs January release.

Creative Nugget:  Today's Inspiration Challenge was to use something from Angela Maine's Blog, From the Tool Shed, to inspire us…not hard to do since I love everything Angela creates.  I chose her Give Thanks card for the design and the popped up elements.  The Piano Background was used for the bottom of the card.  After stamping the piano keys, the Flourished Star Pattern Die was used to cut the panel which puts small pierced dots around the border.  A Spellbinders Border Die was used to make the scalloped edge on the top part of the card.  The treble clef note from the Just a Note stamp set was stamped and colored with Copic Markers...the panel cut again with the Flourished Star Pattern Die and debossed with the Faithful Fish Pattern Die.  The note was stamped and colored again, fussy cut and popped onto the first one.
The sentiment is from the Mini Tag Sentiments stamp set and the tags were cut with the Mini Tags Dies.

Creative Nugget:  The Triple Stamping Technique was used to make the second card.  The Piano Background was stamped and embossed and three rectangles using the Spellbinders Matting Basics Dies were cut from the panel.  The three rectangles were matted with black and pink card stocks.  Seam binding was wrapped around two of the panels before popping them all back on top of each other matching the piano design on each panel.  The sentiment is from the Music Speaks stamp set.  The Two Step Butterfly was cut with the coordinating Grunge Butterfly Die and the butterfly trail was cut using the Fancy Foliage Die.  Pearls were added to finish the card.  This card will also be submitted to the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge # 167

Thanks so much for stopping by…keep safe and warm if you are in the northeast!

Out With the Old, In With the New

I just love the new Sweet Sarah and Sassy Cindy stamp sets by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!  Sassy Cindy is especially relevant for me since I have a sister-in-law named Cindy...she's very sweet and not very sassy…most of the time!  LOL!  However, I did use the Sassy Cindy set to make her a card for her upcoming birthday.

Creative Nugget:  Some festive Doodlebug papers were used to create the different layers from last week's sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  The square layer was turned into a shaker with multi-colored sequins inside.  Sassy Cindy was colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut, and popped on top of the acetate.  One of the new Speech Bubble Dies was used to cut out the fun sentiment, which is very appropriate for my SIL because she works at the post office.   I hope she gets a kick out of this card!

Here are the supplies from the Sweet 'n Sassy Store that
were used to make this card:

Taking another look at the ODBD January 2015 Release

Welcome, my friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs January 2015 Release.  Get ready to view some gorgeous musical creations made with the stamps and dies released this month.  These projects will put a song in your heart and leave you singing!

Creative nugget:  The Mojo Monday sketch was used for the design of this card.  The colors are from the ODBD Shining the Light Color Challenge.  A piece of Neenah Solar crest card stock was sponged with yellow, lavender, and a soft blush color, then cut and debossed with the new Faithful Fish Pattern Die to make the background for this card.  A panel of DP from the Christian Faith Paper Collection and a portion of the Piano Background were added next.  The image from Music Speaks was colored with Copic Markers, the panel pierced, and a Beautiful Border die cut was attached to the bottom edge.  The sentiment from the Just a Note stamp set was masked and stamped to fit on a Mini Tag. Several pearl and rhinestone flourishes and a little bow were added to finish the card.

Supplies that were used to make this card can be found at

Look What's New at SNSS

Hello friends!  Welcome to the first new release by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for the new year!  There's something for everyone...something sweet, something sassy, and something elegant as well as a die set you will reach for over and over again!

First, let me tell you about our
Something New Challenge.
Just make a card or project using something new…a new stamp set, a new tool, a new paper pad…anything as long as it is new.  Be sure to tell us in your description what you used that was new.  Link up your project using the Linky Tool at the bottom of this post.  Of course there will be a PRIZE…one lucky participant will be randomly selected to receive a $10 Gift Code to be used toward any item at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store!  Make sure your project is uploaded by Thursday, January 15th.  The winner will be announced on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog on Friday, January 16th.

Now…Let's see what's new!
My first two projects were made using the new Parisian Postcard stamp set designed by Graciellie Designs.

Creative Nugget:  A background was created using several of the images from Parisian Postcard and the Typewriter Text Background.  Gathered Twigs and Victorian Velvet distress inks were sponged, dabbed, and stenciled on for a vintage finish. Copic Markers were used to add a little more color to the rose on the postcard and the stamp was popped up for dimension.  The postcard was all tied up with twine and the sentiment on a Mini Tag die cut was tied on as well to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  The rose and the butterfly images from the Parisian Postcard stamp set were perfect for making this get well card.  The rose was randomly stamped on a piece of Neenah Solar Crest card stock and sponging added for a aged look.  A piece of mixed media paper was smooshed onto watered down Worn Lipstick distress ink to create a very light background.  Next, the sentiment from Flower Blocks 3 was stamped, and the roses were stamped around the sentiment.  The Worn Lipstick distress ink was watercolored on and around the roses in layers to add more color.  The butterfly was also watercolored, fussy cut, and popped onto the card.  A wrinkled seam binding bow and pearls were added to finish the card.

The gorgeous stamp set that was used to create both of these cards is
Parisian Postcard:

  • Stamp set includes 11 images and 2 sentiments
  • Stamp set measures 4" x 6"
  • Eiffel Tower measures approximately 1 7/8" x 3 7/8"
  • Designed by Graciellie Designs
  • $15
My next project is a little bit SWEET and a little bit SASSY!
Creative Nugget:  I enjoyed using both the Sweet Sarah and Sassy Cindy stamp sets to create this card…Sarah and Cindy are Besties after all!  The images were colored with Copic Markers and paper pieced.  Of course they are wearing their best jewelry! Bright colors and a scattering of pearls and rhinestones make this a fun card.  The sentiment on the inside says, "That's because the BEST ones are already mine!

  • Stamp set includes 1 image and 13 sentiments
  • Stamp set measures 4" x 6"
  • Sarah image measures approximately 1 1/2" x 2 1/8"
  • Designed by Diane Zechman
  • $15

  • Stamp set includes 1 image and 11 sentiments
  • Stamp set measures 4" x 6"
  • Cindy image measures approximately 1 3/8" x 2 1/8"
  • Designed by Diane Zechman
  • $15

Music Speaks

Hi all!  I'm hosting the first Sketch Challenge of 2015 on Splitcoaststampers today so come join the fun!
Here's my sample:

Creative Nugget:  The background is made with one of the pretty patterns in the Blushing Rose Paper Collection by Our Daily Bread Designs.  It was die cut and debossed with the new Faithful Fish Pattern Die for a nice subtle texture.  The treble clef from the Just a Note stamp set was colored with Copic Markers, and both it and the sentiment from the Music Speaks stamp set were cut with a Spellbinders Matting Basics Die.  One of the Beautiful Borders Dies was used to make a bit of trim for under the treble clef, and a ribbon and pearls were added to finish the card.

Here is SC522, the sketch that was followed for the design:

This card will also be entered for the Word Art Wednesday Challenge # 165 - Anything Goes.

Thanks so much for stopping by…have a wonderful Wednesday!

You & Me

Hello friends…back for my second post of the new year!  I have two quick cards to share with you which were made with two of the stamp and die bundles that are available from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for the January Sweet Perks Club.

Creative Nugget:  The Mojo Monday 378 sketch was used for the design of this tall & skinny Valentine card for my honey!  The sentiments and image are from the cute You & Me Bundle.  Liquid Pearls and micro beads make the icing on the donut look good enough to eat.  The funny thing about this card is that I do not like coffee, and my DH does not eat donuts…we complement each other perfectly…he can drink my coffee and I will eat his donut! LOL!

Creative Nugget:  This little scene was so much fun to make and so easy using stamps and dies from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.  The hills were cut with the new Hillside Edges Dies and stitched to a piece of mixed media paper which had been lightly watercolored with blue reinker.   The sheep are from the Cute Critters Bundle and the Mini Critters stamp set and were colored with Copic Markers.  The clouds, fence, and little heart are all from SNSS die sets.

Here are the supplies used to make both cards:

ODBD January 2015 Release

Hello friends!  Happy New Year's!  I can't believe I'm writing 2015…where did 2014 go?  Our Daily Bread Designs has a very musical release for you this month with both beautifully delicate and grunge elements in the stamp sets.  There's even an embossable  pattern die perfect for creating backgrounds for all of your card making creations. As always, the Design Team has some awe inspiring samples to share, so be sure to visit all of their blogs!

Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until January 2, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments on the Designers' Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on January 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

Here is my first project made with the new products:

Creative Nugget:  This music score image from the Music Speaks stamp set is so pretty and fun to color!  The bird was stamped in a different color, fussy cut, and popped up for dimension.  Pink, yellow, and green reinkers were used to create a watercolor background on mixed media paper.  This panel was then cut and embossed with the new Faithful Fish Pattern Die***SWOON***! The same colors were lightly sponged on a Neenah Solar Crest panel and cut with the Vintage Flourish Pattern Die.   The Vintage Label Dies were used to create a frame for the image.  A Mini Tag Die was used to make a little tag for the sentiment.  Some ribbon, metallic thread, and pearls were added to finish the card.

The new stamp sets and pattern die were perfect for creating a set of note cards.

Creative Nugget:  This Card Purse tutorial on Splitcoaststampers was modified to make a box to hold the note cards.  The Beautiful Border die was used to make some trim across the top of the box. The Vintage Label Dies, Matting Circle Dies,  Circle Ornament Dies, and Mini Tag Dies were used to make a label for the belly band that wraps around the box.

Four note cards in different colors were made using the new Just a Note stamp set.  The Faithful Fish Pattern Die was used to emboss the fish pattern on all four cards.

An envelope for each note card was made by stamping the music score image from the Music Speaks stamp set in the same color used on the card.

The four note cards and matching envelopes fit perfectly inside the gift box!

Here are the new release products available at the
Our Daily Bread Designs Store used on my projects...

…and some old favorites as well:
