Happy Resurrection Day!

Happy Easter everyone!  What a gorgeous day in so many ways!  First…the weather is heavenly,  really springlike, finally!  Then there is the most amazing fact that Jesus rose again!  I am humbled by the fact that Jesus, the son of God, would willingly lay down His life for all mankind.  But, how hopeful we are that since He is no longer in the grave, we who put our faith and trust in Him, will also live forever. Praise the Lord!

Jesus bore the shame of the cross because of His love for us.  The quote by Billy Graham on my card for today says it all!
Creative Nugget:  The design of this card was taken from Seize the Sketch #18.  The Chalkboard Vine Background released this month by Our Daily Bread Designs was clear embossed on a piece of Basic Grey patterned paper.  A coordinating piece of DP was used on the top.  Both pieces were stitched to Smokey Shadow card stock and mounted to a Solar Crest card base.  The ODBD Custom Beautiful Border Die was cut from yet another coordinating piece of DP.  The sentiment is from The Cross stamp set and was cut using a Classic Oval die and mounted to a scalloped oval.  One of the Ornamental Cross dies was added along with some seam binding, Fancy Foliage Dies, and little flowers also from the Ornamental Crosses die set.  Pearls were scattered on the card front and placed in the centers of the flowers to finish the card.

Here are the supplies used from the

This card will be entered in the following challenges:

Thankful Blooms

Hello sweet friends…happy Friday and welcome to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Friday Feature Blog Hop & Challenge!
Today's features are:
I just love how these stamp sets and dies work so well together.  I made two cards with these new products that will be given to my mother and my mother-in-law on Mother's Day!  Here's the first one:

Creative Nugget:  The front of this card was made by attaching a Soft Stone embossed panel and a piece of My Mind's Eye designer paper to Smokey Shadow card stock and mounting that to a Smokey Shadow card base.  The Mother Die was cut from the DP (all the little pieces were saved) and three times from Smokey Shadow.  The Smokey Shadow dies were glued together for dimension.  A wink of Stella Pen *LOVE* was used to paint the top layer and Glossy Accents was added to seal in the shimmer.  Then the Mother Die was embedded back into the designer paper with all the little pieces put back into place.  All three flowers from Thankful Blooms stamp set were rock 'n rolled in Distress Inks and cut with the matching Thankful Blooms Dies.  They were painted with a clear Wink of Stella pen, covered with Glossy Accents, and layered along with several leaves.  A seam binding bow finishes the card.
Here is a close up photo so you can see a little bit of the shimmer better.

My second sample features the Mother Die along with Delightful Doilies, Majestic Butterflies
and the Monarch Dies.

Creative Nugget:  The sketch from this past week on Splitcoaststampers was used for the design of this card.  Basic Grey papers were stitched to Smokey Shadow card stock and mounted to a Vintage Cream card base.  The Delightful Doily was white embossed on a matching piece of DP, fussy cut, and added behind the floral panel.  Modeling Paste was tinted with a distress reinker and added through a stencil on the third panel to create some texture.  The Mother Die was again cut three times and glued together with Wink of Stella added to the top layer.  A Monarch Butterfly Die was used to cut the butterfly out of DP and Vellum.  The vellum layer was whited embossed with the Majestic Butterfly and attached to the DP butterfly.  A little seam binding finishes the card.
A sentiment from Thankful Innies was perfect for stamping inside the card.  The Majestic Butterfly was stamped on top of the DP and cut with the matching Monarch Die.

Looking Back at Our Daily Bread Designs April Release

Good morning friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs April Release.  With Easter only two days away, so many of the new products released this month were perfect for creating all the Easter cards I needed for friends and family.

One of the cards I made using the Ornamental Crosses Dies, the Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies, and The Cross stamp set was a Tunnel Card.
Creative Nugget: The directions for the tunnel card can be found HERE on Splitcoaststampers.  The beautiful Vintage Flourish Pattern Die was adhered to a piece of KaiserCraft designer paper and mounted to the Smokey Shadow card base.  Smokey Shadow and KaiserCraft labels from the same die set were layered in the middle.  The Ornamental Cross Die was cut three times and glued together for dimension and mounted on top of the labels.  The sentiment from The Cross stamp set was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink on the little label from the Vintage Flourish Pattern Die set.  The little flowers are from the Ornamental Crosses Die set and were cut from scraps of DP.  A loopy bow made from yarn was attached under the sentiment and some Perfect Pearls were added to the cross.

And here is the inside of the tunnel card:
Beautiful Borders Dies were stitched down each side while some Fancy Foliage Dies and little flowers frame the sentiment from The Cross to finish the card.

Here are the new products and some old favorites available
used to make this card:

Welcome to ODBD April Release

Now that April has arrived, we're anxiously awaiting spring-like weather in our part of the country!  Hopefully we've seen the last of the SNOW!  Easter will be here before you know it, and the Our Daily Bread Designs Release this month is perfect for making Easter cards and decorations expressing the true meaning of the most important holiday for Christians everywhere.  The cross reminds us of the sacrifice our Savior paid for our redemption and this beloved symbol is the theme for many of the new products being released today! Be sure to check out all of the beautiful new stamp sets and dies at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog and take a look at the many gorgeous samples made by the design team.

Three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments left on the designers' blogs to receive a $15 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store to be used toward the purchase of ODBD stamps.  You have until April 2, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments!  The winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on April 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

My first sample uses the Ornamental Crosses Dies, the Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies, the Flourish Label Borders stamp set, and the Christian Faith Paper Collection.

Creative Nugget:  The pretty patterned paper from the Christian Faith Paper Collection was mounted to Royal Velvet card stock and attached to a Vintage Cream card base.  The Vintage Flourish Pattern Die was sponged with distress ink and mounted on top to form the front of the card.  One of the Beautiful Borders and some seam binding were added across the middle of the card.  The labels from the Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies were stamped with the Flourish Label Borders and attached over the ribbon.  The Ornamental Crosses Dies were layered and several pearls added. The sentiment from the Happy Spring stamp set was stamped onto a tag from the Recipe Card & Tags Dies to finish the card.  I love how all the dies and stamps coordinate together so well.

Creative Nugget:  Another one of the papers from the Christian Faith Paper Collection was mounted to Blue card stock and attached to a Select White card base.  The Chalkboard Vine Background was white embossed on mixed media paper and swiped through distress inks that were misted with water on a craft sheet.  Two strips were cut from this panel and stitched to Beautiful Borders cut from blue card stock.  The little Ornamental Cross was cut from a small piece of this panel as well.  The sentiment from The Cross set was stamped in gray ink on an Elegant Oval Die and mounted to one of the labels from the Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies.  Some seam binding and silver pearls finish the card.
